CAI intake is meant to draw cold air, you’re pulling probably the hottest air possible with the location. Probably see better performance if you moved it down below the headlight. Nice throttle control though. With the tuning you’ve done you should probably upgrade the radiator & intercooler as well for better cooling.
I think the IE intake has a heat shield to block off some of the hot air but I rather keep the stock airbox and install a less restrictive drop in filter.
I think I've heard before that with this engine IATs are influenced by the heat exchanger more so than the intake, so you can put an open element intake and it wouldn't really make a difference for the supercharger. Still technically better to have an intake with a heat shield/filter box obviously but this should be fine as well if you have an upgraded heat exchanger
The biggest issue you have with this is that your catalytic converters which are known to get clogged pretty easily or just below where you're intake is. That literally is the hottest part of the motor that you could have that above. If you loosen it and twist it where it rises up and put the original front piece back on then you'll actually have cold air blowing directly on it from outside. I highly recommend getting rid of your catalytic converters as quick as possible because that can be the death of your car if they're not fixed. That and the heat exchanger to keep those internal air temperatures down. But truly get the intake raised up and put the front part back on for sure!
1.your air intake is bad, because you getting hot air inside supercharger 2. bigger wheels worse time from 0 to 60. 3. if you are tunning this engine keep in mind , that you need to better install larger radiator when upgrade pulleys, after radiator go lower crackcaft pulley when compresor pulley.
Curious to know your thoughts on the AWE Exhaust for 3.0T engine Audis....a bit surprised an exhaust upgrade was not mentioned. Apart from the whine improvement with air intake + pulley, my thinking is an Exhaust stainless upgrade makes this car sound ridiculously sexy and beastmode.
@@AdhemarOrtega hey quick question just bought this intake but it hasn’t come in yet. What about your breather tube? Where does that connect up or did you have to buy a whole new filter for that?
So you kinda started all over the place, but everyone starts modding differently. Here is the path I would take which also saves money. 1. Go stage 2+ off the bat. Saves a few hundred down the line and you're going to be at around 480ish hp. Stage 1 is only about 100 something hp depending on the tune. 2. Get a cold air intake to help it breath better with stage 2+ and some custom exhaust 3. Upgrade cooling! Protect the engine with the recent mods. Go with a Merc racing heat exchanger or something from APR, lower the AITs. 4. TCU tune, again this is performance related. 5. Wheels 6. Suspension which includes sway bars, transmission mountain, motor mounts, etc. Make it ridged. 7. Also your blend will be E40 if you go with ethanol since these engines can't do full e85. Wouldn't waste the money trying, at that point go to an S7.

Also upgraded my heat exchanger to Merc Heat exchanger to prevent any heat soak since I live in CA.
