The Solons actually came from Eugene and then became the Missions. They were supposed to revert back and become the Solons in Sacramento again, but no stadium here meant they were sold to Ogden. As for those SJ Bees, they were leased to Stockton when the Missions showed up. That franchise actually stayed in Stockton with Single A California League instead granting San Jose another team (also called the Missions) in 1979.
It took the soccer stadium years upon years to finally gain traction there. What's more, Ranadive owns most of the land around Sutter Health Park so he's not going to put a stadium any place else.
The soccer stadium was to be built years ago but MLS pulled the team. From what I’ve heard,Vivek has already got an investment group in place to build a mlb stadium and it would be at the railyards. The rivercats would be sold and the land at Sutter health park would be developed into housing and retail. The railyard site is approximately 161 acres plenty of room for the soccer stadium, mlb stadium, hospital, retail housing and restaurants. It’s going to continue what has already started near the GC1 center DOCO area, which is less than half a mile away.
Because if there is one thing Sacramento is known for, it's getting massive projects done in a timely matter. Better yet, if Vivek had a stadium plan, he wouldn't be messing around with John Fisher in the first place. He'd be looking to put the squeeze on him to force him to sell the team.
I think Brodie Brazil has lost his mind, ever since the last professional sports teams (Athletics) left Oakland and has nothing to discuss about anymore, but let fantasies consume his mind, as he's in a state of depression.
MLB has control of Minor League Baseball. If Fresno acquires a Triple A team, then the Single Low A team presently playing in Fresno will need to move. MLB will need to find a ready made stadium in California, good luck finding a stadium in California.
Why would any MiLB team want to play in the oversized Oakland Coliseum, a shit hole? The city no longer owns half of it anyway... The reason why the A's no longer call Oakland home is to look at their city government... Recall the history of MLB in Oakland. The city failed to build the Raiders a stadium, therefore a PRIVATE NON-PROFIT organization led by Nahas built the Coliseum and Arena to keep the Raiders and lure the Warriors. After lobbying and selling Oakland to Finley, Finley relocated the A's from Kansas City. After paying off the orginial mortgage the Nahas non-profit gave the city and county half of the Coliseum and the adjacent real estate.. Notice the city and county after sixty years failed to refurbish the Coliseum's original grandstand. And you wonder why all of your tenants fled the decrepit Coliseum. When the fans ask why the city should build a new stadium, well, Oakland never did. Oakland never bothered to refurbish the Coliseum either...
Other than staying in Oakland the A's should be playing in their AAA Las Vegas ballpark.
That would make a lot more sense. A's should also play all their summer home games in Las Vegas at night.
The River cats control all of the revenue in their stadium, and they would not in Oakland. For that reason alone, they would not relocate.
Thanks for remembering Fresno!
So, I wasn’t aware the Solons came from the SJ Missions. 😮They, and the Bees, prior, I grew up with. Gotta rewatch the minor league video.

Take a look at the railyards project.
The a's could easily stay in sacramento and build a beautiful mlb park at the Railyards.

@ Vivek can’t do anything right now because mlb fisher have an agreement in place to move to Vegas. Legal matter.

There is one already being built in Ontario, California.

Brodi SUCKS, guy is boring. If the River Cats left it would be no different than when the Solons left when I was a little ki.
You swallow…
Oakland must find new team
Pro sports might be done in Oakland for good, unless Oakland is willing to play ball with a perspective new team
