I fully agree with Tavleen Singh - she expressed what I have in my mind for years that we have feudalism in the garb of democracy - it's an excellent interview - I wish it is broadcast over and over again.

Tavleen Singh is one of the best journalists of our country, she is a very brave person. The journalists like Tavleen Singh are increasingly becoming rare. What are the qualities of such journalists?
    a. They are brave.
    b. They are impartial throughout. They are not interested about the existing political wind direction.
    c. They do not expunge bitter truths. They are very blunt when it comes to writing facts and truth. They almost never mince words while criticizing.
    d. They do not resort to polemics in order to counter arguments.
    e. They do not have any agenda i.e. they are neither left, nor right nor center. They are neither liberals nor moderates nor conservatives.
    f. They are almost incorruptible.

Chanced upon this interview now. Felt I was listening about happenings of today instead of '84.
Tavleen singh- Raiv was forgiven but Modi was never forgiven for Gujarat riots--20.58
Attitude in Rajiv's campaign that if you are not with Congress you are against India --26.50.
Congress & media accused BJP of portraying this sentiment that if you are not with BJP you are anti Indian or not a nationalist!!!
How people forget history!!! That should never happen!

No Congress people called people to go to Pakistan. Nobody was lynched and made to chant "jai Shri Ram", "jai Hanuman" while being murdered in public. Noby was called Anti-Hindu for pointing out the corruption of PM.

Just finished reading _Durbar_ and now rewatched this interv. I gotta say that _Durbar_ was a lovely read, illuminating in an amazing, surreal way. I semideliberately read it slowly and I think that was a good choice on my part. Also, it is weird, interesting and worrisome that history has come to repeat itself today, with the reappearance of dynasts, riot stained men, radical Hindutva and Islam and most of all, the cult leadership and equation of anti-X-partyism with anti-Indianism.

Interview of a senior journalist by another senior and pioneering journalist. It is one of the most cherished and fulfilling interview and conversation I have heard. The whole of India and all the govts whoever came to power be it the centre or state remain silent about the '84 anti sikh riots! It's a bit shocking. And no political scientist or contemporary historian ever analyses how bad a PM Rajiv Gandhi was and what damage this Nehru- Gandhi dynasty has done to Indian political history and democracy! Thanks to atleast Tavleen Singh. Thanks to Madhu Trehan too.

I would really like to know why Tavleen Singh is so bitter about the state of Indian everything. From being a one-time Rajiv and Sonia groupie she is today 'exposé-ing' them, why and that too after so many years... it actually exposes Tavleen Singh's not-so-hidden axe... I especially ROFL when she raged on about (the lack) of democracy, transparency, accountability, babalogs and dynasties... what was more surprising was that Madhu Trehan slept through the interview!

Telling comment .. "Sonia sees Indira as a successful politician and not her husband" . Bulls eye ... look at the Indira template being played out in Punjab today .. Amrinder Singh is the new Darabara Singh .. the independent CM who wanted to take action against Bhindranwale while Navjot Singh Sidhu is the equivalent of the home minister of the early 80s Gyani Zail Singh , especially positioned as Indira's man to check mate poor Darabara finally leading to operation Bluestar. Sidhu is the Nehru parivar's man in Punjab today sent to specifically clip the chief ministers' wing. Lucky for India that no Bhindranwale is in sight today..

It was true, women had been raped the villages by the Indian army, everybody in kashmir knows it. Please don't try to elude people that no such thing happened.
I was on a spree of watching your interviews and though you talked a lot about kashmir, and i agree to your views at many instances but mam it seems you for one are also in delusion of what has happened and what should have in Kashmir.
And as a respected journalist, you are doing exactly what you despise, spreading misinformation and calculating a wrong set of notions.
And let me add here, I have had first hand experiences of army men cat calling and sexually harassing kashmiri women. Had we as people not taken the stand, it would have been a disaster.

    • @vk274
      @vk274 5 лет назад

Agree, it is a universal fact, but it need not be eternal. If one keeps his needs minimal then we can reduce the time we need to bend to survive. Once a person achieves financial independence, which BTW can be done in reasonably less time than one thinks, provided desires are kept in check and only needs food, clothes, and a roof over the head, the life can be lived consciously and fulfilling way.

    Dear,
All the Hindus like Sikhs except the congress, which has no religion, they just need power at any cost.
I am from UP, and their is no congress government for more than 20 years, while in Punjab congress often come to power. I do not understand why Sikh killing is blamed on Hindus and not on Congress. We tried our best to save Sikhs. And, Sikhs were safe wherever it was non-congress region. We want guys like Jagdish Tytler to be punished.

My limited point was, that anyone whose prejudice about a topic is so evident, I will not take her word on that topic. I wont contest the fact that she would have done extensive research but having knowledge doesn't really mean that inferences drawn are also correct. India has grown a lot from what it was in 1947. If there is a family which presided over most part of the country's independent life, it takes blame for most inefficiencies. Likewise, it should get credit for most of the growth.

yes she is correct. mnrega essentially pays you 100rs for 50rs of work. recently after demo ppl in mnrega rocketed. commies blamed it on job losses due to demo. but it was actually due to the above mentioned reason!

subsidies and all the freebies still poor are getting due to corporates taxes.
all the farmers are getting from opening the market.
If any person still says India hasn't improved due opening the market than he must be hardcore communist.
