The harmonics. The Sphere might be one of the best venues for music in the world now. I don't know because I haven't been yet, but music inside of a massive sphere sounds like it could be really special.
Bro!! That was a great capture of this. Had the head phones cranked, watching in the big flat screen. I felt like I was there😃. Thanks for sharing man. Great vid, so cool. I love U2 and was stoked for this and wish I could be there but that was AWESOME! I like the No speakers on the stage. How was the sound!?🔥🔥🔥
Happy to hear you enjoyed it! Massive U2 fan as well - just posted a vlog of the entire experience from that night, check it out when you can. The intro is insane - Zoo Station, The Fly, and Even Better Than The Real Thing to start off the show sounded great 🙌🏼🪩✨🤩
I went through 3 pages of rave reviews to stop on thos one because the screen capture said 'everything you know is wrong' Is it so bad that they can just scream it loudly at everyone and literally no one will see More shocking still be cause at no point was I like, alright this music is real good. They are really holding it down It sounds terrible and vapid and the pomp and extravagance of the display does not match the geriatric mediocrity I know older gents can rock as good as the rest but this ain't it XD The creepy messaging had to be the most compelling moment for everyone in that pit..
@minasanchez9777 way to miss the point. These visuals have been used since their original Zoo TV tour. "Describing the visuals, the Edge said, "'The Fly' is information meltdown-text, sayings, truisms, untruisms, oxymorons, soothsayings, etc., all blasted at high speed, just fast enough so it's impossible to actually read what's being said." U2 fans know this isn't demonic. Non U2 fans who have no clue what their talking about obviously make up BS interpretations.
I used to go to Fillmore East for concerts. The best place ever. A typical show might be CCR with Deep Purple and maybe Humble Pie opening for a whole $5.00. In a place the size of a small movie theater.
My thoughts exactly. I was thinking to myself that I would probably be the only person to keep the phone in my pocket and take in every second of this show!
Yeah, dead crowd. When I go to shows I sing along all the songs and jump, I'm there. Take few pictures and record few seconds just to have some memory. But the most important thing is to be there and have a blast.
You got the best view of Bono for Zoo Station! I will have nosebleed seats and wish I could be in GA just for this entrance. I stopped buying GA tix because I am short and always get stuck behind some tall dude, but the up close experience is amazing
Phones have fucked up the concert experience. If it means not being able to see the concert on social media, So be it. Sorry audience. They should be cheering and screaming
You do realize that older people don’t have the energy to be screaming and jumping and all that right? You can literally record and still live in the moment
Larry is recovering from surgery. He was around earlier in the week when they did a few live songs while shooting a new video but he's not recovered enough yet to play through a full show. The band recruited Bram van den Berg from Dutch band Krezip to fill in for Larry during these sphere shows.
A lot of phones recording there. Which brings up the age old question, portrait or landscape? Or does that not matter in The Sphere. Either way, I still remember Bono telling off someone, mid concert & between singing lines, that he was "at a rock and roll concert, to get off his fucking phone."
This Arena would be interesting for Bands like Alan Parsons or Pink Floyd maybe - Cheesy Bono an U2 is surely not my favorite and never was, !! Oh yes - let Phoenix and Arctic Monkeys play there.!
So many concerned about other people's phone. First of all, those are Memories being saved. Second, no one stays more than a few seconds holding their phones (you record a story, and that's it). Third, at any point in the video theres far more people without their phones than with it. Fourth, we're in 2023, have you heard about multi tasking? Is not because someone is holding something that they enjoy less of something. Fifth, why do care? You're just jealous.
It's great to have these memories, and its an immersive experience. Why wouldn't I want to capture some of the moments? This venue is taking live performances to new heights. Back in the day when bands used lights, giant screens for background effects, people loved how the band had visuals along with lasers to amp up the experience. Now we have this venue that takes it to another level and think it's great!
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
40 years ago they didn't need anything.. look at US Devore Festival 1983, or Las Vegas Save the Yuppie concert 1987 or Western Europe like Germany at the Loire 1983, Hattem in Netherlands 1982 and Belgium... outdoor concerts when they were GREAT. This looks like AI.
This person does NOT know how to hold a camera. The whole dutch angle thing is SUPER annoying and disorienting... There's absolutely no reason for it. 😤
Hey! I'm going to create a multicam of the first night of U2 in The Sphere. I love your footage and I would love to use it! Can you send me the original video files? RUclips doesn't allow email adres in the comments. Can I reach you on twitter or instagram?
Looks so dull. No one living in the moment, u2 old and decrepit (achtung baby is a great album though), and the irony of original zoo tv tour critiquing mass media and over stimulation, being performed in a sphere designed directly to facilitate pointless over stimulation, is quite funny.
How much money are they trying to squeeze outa one album here.?? Yeah zootv was great but this is just smoke and mirror nonsense now with nobody living in the moment. 📱🦧💩

@deepdungeon you're missing the point. They've used these "truisms" with The Fly during the original Zoo TV tour

They should've started this venue off. Would be incredible. And way better music than Upoo
I see why Silk Sonic made everyone in the audience place their phones in a phone pouch.
Looks sick af. Amazing
Huge negative subliminal message coming out to the ones with eyes to see

U2 - one of the greatest bands in history - no doubt about it
Live experiences have changed. You get the best show in the world and people don't dance anymore but look at their phones.😢

MSG wanted phones there to generate interest and future ticket sales. Brilliant move.
Remember the day when you used to go to a concert and just have fun without people's phones in your face.
You missed the best part with the ceiling looking like it was crashing down. 10:37
Can agree. Missed quite possibly the most spectacular moment ever made. 🫣
Plot twist there’s no humans on stage lol only images moving

This was a pr event for this new hotel
Bono knows Steve wynn

Alan Parsons and Pink Floyd would be amazing here .
A bunch of phone zombies. Kinda sad really. Give us back the 80's.
Very bad. So basically the artists are not the most important thing now in a show.
Why aren’t they living in the moment. I’m so cool and edgy I’d never use a phone 🙄🙄

U2 was the wrong band to christen this venue. Shouldve been Tool
Considering the hype of the sphere, gotta say I was underwhelmed by the graphics for the show. Was expecting something mind blowing, didn't see it.
Kinda polluted vision, too much distraction, I don't know if I'd like it.
They should have got Tool to start there to show what this big sphere is capable of. Their visual show is made for this.
Anyone be affected by this
You would have to pay me to go see this with everyone's phone in front of my face all the time. Ruined concerts.
Wow, been to over 100 concerts where people had phones. Hardly even noticed them.
He wants to sound cool and edgy and old school that phones ruin shit yet here he is on his iPhone checking out the video
Agreed. It reveals the ugly desperation of humanity...feeling the need to own everything. It exposes the greedy, mindless, children amongst us.
It’s too bad you have to listen to u2 to see the cool effects inside
