I haven't smelled moon carnival but based on the notes . I have a felling I will love if . I keep trying to wait and find a good price on it
They’re not that special. I had the chance to try them all in shop and they fall flat on their face. They start from famous fragrances and add a twist on them. That is my overall feeling. I got my husband Morning chess because he loved Aventus so much. He loves it, but to me is so mehh and performance is terrible too. Mango skin, another one that opens nice and then spoof, is gone, terrible performance. I am personally done with this house.

Sampling is my happy place 🥰🥰🥰 I'm loving hearing your thoughts on these! What happened to me with Juliette was: in store I thought it smelled kind of like a cherry cake. But I got a free sample of it in my Sephora order, and it had an okay opening, sort of what I remembered.. but then the jasmine went weird on me exactly like it did in V&R Good Fortune! Not indolic but weird like stale musty dead flowers lol 😂

Hi Veronica 🌹 💕 I really loved this video, and I wanted to mention that when you were talking about Cappadocia, it brought the best memories to mind for me personally. Cappadocia, or Kapadokya in Turkish, is a magical place in Central Anatolya, where the phallic rock formations are located and where they fly hot air balloons over the valleys at sunrise. I'm actually surprised at the note structure they chose to represent this fragrance with this name because my memory is very vivid of the scent of fresh lavender bushes, freshly brewed Turkish coffee and warm baked goods 😍 That's what the air smells like at sunset in the mountains of Cappadocia.

Vilhelm is a hit or miss for me. I will say that their "A Lilac a Day" is perhaps the best authentic Lilac fragrance I've ever smelled. It is a true green (and somewhat fluffy) Lilac with some touches of rose. But for anyone wanting a realistic Lilac perfume, get your nose on this one for sure.

l tried love delight and on my skin and it was a fruity vanilla, I didnt get any florals so I was disappointed on that one. On a happier note I bought musc muschus blindly after your musc video and I really love it. It has a classic old school perfumery vibe as in Dior Poison but with a very elegant modern twist , lasting power is also so impressive. Thank you for the reccomendation.

OMG Jany was my favorite purchase of 2023. Absolutely love it all the way through. I do spray my clothes as well as skin and I will reapply when it starts to fade which I don’t mind doing because I love it so much. I do like Angel’s Share but not a love for me.

The first time I tried Sparkling Jo, I did not like it. It gave me a headache and I didn’t get much of a pear smell. I tried it a couple more times and thought, meh it’s ok. I don’t know what happened but I wore it yesterday after it sat for about a month and I LOVE it. The champagne comes through sparkling and sweet, but not overly so. I really smelled the pear and the perfect amount of ginger. I did layer it over a sandalwood and vanilla body lotion. I don’t know if that’s what made me love it so much but I’m thinking it’s full bottle worthy now.

I got to try Juliet and was gifted two samples when I went to buy a gift at Skins Cosmetics😉😉. I honestly found the cherry to be extremely fleeting and it faded away rather quickly on my skin🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I’m interested in a review of Widian, we have it at Skins but man it’s so pricey😩😩. Funny how different perception is. Cappadocia was a love for me at the first sniff. I dont get the leather in it, actually I dont even think there is a leather note. To my nose It’s very creamy, balsamic, spicy from the saffron, the benzoin makes it divine, sweet vanilic. The saffron is in contrast with those balsams and resins. It had a Middle Eastern touch to it with that olibanum. I got the bottle right away and wearing it made me fall in love with it even more, has so many other facets that open up . Cappadocia is a place in Anatolia, Turkey.The rocks you see on the bottle are the 'fairy chimneys' that ponctuate the Cappadocia region. Volcanic eruptions created this surreal moonscape: the lava flows formed tuff rock, which wind and rain sculpted into sinuous valleys with curvy cliff faces and pointy fairy chimneys.
I'm glad you love it! 💖 Sounds like you had a different experience, which is fine. Remember, this is just sampling as I mentioned and sampling has limitations. I'm familiar with the place in Turkey - never been but seen many pictures and a couple of videos. Dreamy!!

Hi Jill! 🥰 Yes, sampling is equal parts fun and frustrating, I find. I'd like to revisit Sparkling Jo. I wonder if I was too harsh on it. 🤔 I'm glad you get the honey from Bravi, too! Once my mind sorted through what I thought I was smelling, it was undeniable! Interesting scent! Try Cappadocia. It's a nice leather, don't get me wrong. I just have a lot of leathers. But no one does leather like Memo!

The Tom Ford pricing is crazy. It’s more expensive than Guerlain’s L’Art and La Matiere collection. How does Vanilla Sex compare to Spiritueuse Double Vanille which is also a boozy vanilla?
Yeah, you make a good point! 😲 I don't think you can really compare the two fragrances. Almond-bready vanilla extract and play dough vs slightly smoky resinous darker vanilla.
There’s something about Bravi that is interesting to me. I keep spraying it when I go to the perfumery, but I have yet to buy it. But I do think at some point it may come to my collection. As far as Jany I have tried several times to like it but I can’t get over the actual Yankee candle smell. It smells too much like wax melts during Thanksgiving. I love gourmands and I love apple cinnamon pastry scents! But Jany wasn’t it for me hahahaha

I have Bravi and the magic happens on skin about 20 minutes in🎉🎉🎉 I liked it from a sample and splurged on full bottle and now I adore it! It is unique and the spice balances the white floral aspect so nicely on my skin.

I totally agree with you on samples, and how it can go both ways. I usually try to get at least a 5 ml sample, and even then, sometimes I have a hard time deciding if I really love something, especially if it is a pricey scent. I am difficult (When Harry Met Sally).😊 I am interested in the two houses you mentioned, mostly because I love unique Niche fragrances. Not that I can afford them, BUT if I LOVE a fragrance I will find a way to obtain it, if I have to sell something first. One REALLY unique fragrance I tried recently, is Salish Sea, by Untamed (Indy out of Canada). I bought the discovery box and out of 7 samples, that one really stood out and blew me away. It somehow smells like the sea and surrounding area here in the Pacific NW. VERY unique and a must have for me! You look so fresh and lovely in this video, but you always look beautiful❤

I don’t get any coziness or sweetness from Lucky Candy. 😭 It smells very citrusy floral to me and it’s not a safe blind buy in my opinion. Another reason it’s so important to sample first. 😅

What I learned today: an apple turnover is basically a Dutch "appelflap", which is delicious!!! I am Dutch by the way with an indirect Indian background. And yes, although I do own Jany I have to agree with you about it falling flat. It's kind of like a cake that came out of the oven looking perfect, but then after 30 minutes it collapsed 😕. But it is still good enough for me to keep in my collection. I would like to know more about Widian, please. Every time I am in the store I walk right past it. It's just not calling me. But maybe if you have some recommendations I can test those.

Maybe Jany is a good candidate for layering with a scent that has more bottom. Applewood would be perfect but it seems sandalwood is the standard. Or maybe a wood smoke?

I just bought a small decant of Bravi along with a larger decant of Perigrina due to reviews. Have not formed an opinion yet. I do sometimes feel as though it is hard to decide on a fragrance from a sample, that being said there are some samples I have tried that were a definite pass:) I am very interested in trying something from Memo, but am in love with a lot of Amouage right now and that is taking all my $$.
That being said about Amouage I am talking about older ones that are somewhat reasonably priced:)
I definitely recommend shopping discount sites for Amouage - you can get half off often times. And YES, I've had some definite passes from sampling, too! I know what you mean. At the end of the day, we can't buy everything, so sampling comes into play for sure. 👍💖

Bloomtea sounds nice. I've been eyeing Bvlgari Thé Vert... But my local shop just got in a brand "Chasing Scents" that are all tea scents. They self-distill their own teas in Australia. Definitely getting samples of those. So many samples, so little time. Lol 😂

What is up with that play dough scent. Does it come from the vanilla or almond notes. I've been very bad with the blind buying. Vanilla Sex and Cappadocia, stop me. I agree with your review on both. I'll keep both as I am a crazy collector. Love the bottles.
Also the Vilhelm perfums remind me of Byredo, in that to me they are skin scents. I did buy 2 Vilhelm I'm enjoying, the Basilica smells like basil tomatoes freshie and Room service a dusty rose. I dig the bottles. I'm such a sucker for presentation. Love all your reviews 🎉

I purchased the Alexandria Fragrances dupe(Vanilla Six) of Vanilla Sex. It’s about 85-90% similar to Vanilla Sex. I really love it. It’s similar enough to deter me from purchasing the OG.
*I’d love to smell Julianna’s Perfume’s take on VS. I bet they would kill it.
I can’t get behind Love Delight from the new management at Amouage. Did it smell nice? Yes. BUT they discontinued my baby Love Mimosa for this basic heliotrope weak sauce. It smells nice but we’ve smelled fragrances like this before. It’s not worth 400$. Deep discount required. Sorry for being harsh but… I had to say it. 😂
No need to be sorry! Valid opinion! A bunch folks were unhappy that Love Mimosa was discontinued. I'll be keeping an eye open for Vanilla Sex to go on sale. $395 for 1.7 oz of plain vanilla is a bit wild. 😵💫

I got my sample of Andrea Maack's Ceramic. I did like it very much, but unfortunately it did remind me of an air freshener and that connotation kind of put me off. I'd like to try others from the brand though.
