Optometry is becoming less and less worth it due to costs of schooling. 143k is good money but not when you have 200-250k in student loans. That’s medical school debt without getting an MD salary. For reference I work in IT and run a Business Systems team. I have a bachelors degree and work paid for my Masters. I’m making 150k and have no school debts.

It’s a very stupid question but just by listening to the voice and chosen words it reveals it already. This is basic knowledge, in Sweden everyone has a basic understanding of almost all professions. He is being polite by just answering the questions but I would regret it right away to even accept this kind of interview.
Optometry is a degree where we also make a eye diagnosis and refer to ophthalmologist for further treatment such as surgery. We do differential diagnosis, prescribe eye medical eye drops, and on top of that we do visual acuity.
