Yes it's tape on Kirk's hand. He cut his hand once before shredding and riffing on his guitar and once bled all over his guitar and during the show. He glued it shut but it would reopen on the next gig because his Kirk "The Ripper" Hammet, so he started tapping it with bandage tape but then fans would notice it and ask questions so being the ego less guitarist he is and didn't want the bandage being the topic of conversation he started using a transparent tape instead and has been for several yrs now..
Kirk wears that bandage because when he strums he has a tendency to slap his strings. And in the past it would close open his hand. So he wears it to prevent it
This is such an underrated song and probably one the best song on MOP to me.. this entire concert was flawless!! Great reaction and please more METALLICA!!
Agreed. The entire Mexico City show was the culmination of them at the peak of their talent, teamwork, synchronization, power, speed……all of it. Unbelievable
Mexico City is a pretty intense audience. There’s a recording from the black album tour in the binge and purge box set from there that’s intense. Memory remains from this show was good, too. The audience continued to sing it after the band finished
This and welcome home(Sanitarium) are my favorite songs by Metallica. I love Trujillo especially when he was in Infectious Grooves but Newstead who I've played with in Arizona before he was in Metallica is way better at backing vocals.
