You can boil cloves in some water to make a tea that is amazing for a sore throat! I drink clove tea sweetened with a tiny bit of honey all the time when I'm sick and it is a huge help.
@@michealmicheal2305woah I'm really late getting back to you, sorry about that! I would say personal preference, really. For one mug I would do maybe 12? It's not a great tasting tea on it's own, I've found I prefer adding cloves to other herbal teas like something with apple for example. I make my favourite immunity boosting tea by grating maybe 1-2 teaspoons of fresh ginger(good for digestion & immunity) add turmeric (anti inflammatory), cinnamon, cloves (anitimicrobial & kills bad bacteria) add it all to a tea bag, cover in hot water and add a squeeze of lemon juice. I usually steep it for at least 5-10 minutes. I just eyeball it so I'm sorry I don't have exact measurements! Depending on how much you do the ginger burn can be strong but lemon balances it out really well. You can also add honey! I hope this helps! If you try it out and have any questions I'll do my best to answer them :)

Dear Jamie, like you said, clove and nutmeg are originated from Maluku islands in Indonesia. These spices were first introduced to the european market back in the 1500 by the Portuguese. The spices also kicked off hundreds of years of colonializm in the country. Its good to know that it is still a staple ingredient in the world of culinary. I suppose cloves are indeed small, but they definitely go a looooooong way.
Jamie I saw you on TV first time in 2000 when I was living in the UK and I remember I thought to myself ''This guy is not only talented, he has something different!'' 2015 now and look what a lovely, grown, down-to-earth man you became! The clove infused oil is good for itchy bug bites or itching in general, but do not put on an open cut/broken skin; it will burn. Also nice used in body products.

Hohoho! I thought about it for a moment, and for shame, I only have an outdoor bath barrel back in my cabin in the woods, and it's about covered in snow by now. No clove bath for me. But I did decide to toss some on the sauna stones along with water, for a bit of a clovy steaming. I wonder if I should instead boil the throwing water for the sauna with cloves first to infuse it with the aroma, though. It might produce a headier result than just using loose cloves.

Thank you Jamie. Thank you commenters. This certainly is an underrated and valuable spice.📣🌞☀️
So 3 hours in 240 degrees bath water or till meat off the bone, what do u reckon Jamie?
J.oliver I have recipee for you, rice & coconut milk plus one special spice my home town delicatessen I wish if you can bring this on tv for me pls with my commission. Thanks

Jamie that is great. My dad always had cloves in his pocket. If he had a few pints, he'd take cloves in case the cops pulled him over! No doubt, even when he was dying, he still had great energy.
Wow
Would really love to Marinate myself.

Marinating ourselves is a slippery slope that leads to cannibalism.
