As you listen to this music for long periods of time.....most will get used to it. And process it correctly. It's not that everyone will, but I'm guessing your experience with truly " very progressive"music is limited. Doesn't mean you will like it in time. But it's a possibility. I can't get enough. The more progressive the better. This band is GOLD. I get an eargasm everytime. Thanks for giving it a try. You may get hooked. 🤘💜

Thank you Harry and Sharlene for doing this one for me. Concludes the journey. I wanted to experience this piece, notice I don't say song with Scardust, because it puts you on a journey. Everything I saw on the Patty Gurdy Scardust live concert they pull off. Noa has said that they have a few out there tracks that people either love or hate. For those who cannot hear all the styles I hear, it does expand your mind. This isn't even they way far out which I love. In the 70s in college I loved 20th century classical techniques and a big fan of Frank Zappa especially his orchestral works. So my inner geek goes crazy. Scardust puts the "P" in Progressive. You can see buy all the concert footage that they play this many times live. I love all the scenes. I liked your response because it did show your conflicting minds. I think Prog Metal is supposed to take you out of what is comfortable and bring you back and then back out. So many times you get awesome musicians and the vocals lack. With Noa, they all are beasts. Till next time my friends. Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. 🌹♥️🤘
Ps...Hope Harry is feeling fine. ❤️

I’m a relative newbie to Noa & Scardust, as well, and I couldn’t be more thrilled by them. I believe it’s only a matter of time before they take flight. And, thanks for promoting them.

Like a lot of symphonic progressive metal composed & performed at this insane level it can be jarring or off putting to the senses with the multiple time & key & voicing changes, especially when discordance in those two passages is introduced into the arrangement, and it usually takes a few listens as a whole work of art to find your place in the music. And, I personally love this track!
But, I love the way Noa & SCARDUST (and other artists) sprinkle or splatter bits of that sort of thing in their compositions. If they didn’t use it, it would be like having all of these neat tools to utilize and then leaving them in the box.
It’s quite okay to not like everything about anything, I’m just happy you’re reacting to them. This is a great way to get these artists in front of more people, so thank you for sharing!

Hey, guys! Yeah, that was VERY prog. But it was *quite* the performance, at least. The base mirroring the guitar during one of the solos was also very impressive! Great job! 🤘😎👍

One of the band's more Prog songs. On it's own, it might be confusing. But it's part 3 of the 5 "the sands of time" tracks, in The Sands of Time album. So these first 5 songs on the album are clearer when listened together :)

On both of my cds. Sands of Time and Strangers, I really love both Overtures! It really sets you up for the good things that come. I like Milk Toast once in awhile. However. What's the fun in eating just Milk Toast. Lol🌹♥️🤘

      @@kennethdixson9561 Fully agreed :)
Sometimes we take a walk and realize what path we've taken only when we're done walking.
And after looking it up, now I'll have to try a Milk Toast myself for the first time :)

This is beyond prog... As Kenneth Dixon says: it takes definite steps towards modern classical music (twelve tone, a-tonal, etc.), which is for many people an aqcuired taste... You have to get into what they are doing to start appreciating it.. (as with the growling in Metal, by the way...). Interesting!

So, kudos for stating that those parts were too complex for you to enjoy, instead of just trashing it. As a former music education student/major, i appreciate such intricate music theory gymnastics, but i in no way could start to analyze it. Anyway, them and seven spires, i feel make band/choir geek metal. From Noa's insane vocal agility, to the musicality of both.

  • @mayoarm11

this is a very complex song. Needs a few listens to understand. It's not surprising you didn't enjoy it as much in the first listen. There's a LOT to appreciate here

This is metal prog. Either blows your mind out and shuts it down or makes you go yes yes yes give me more. You have to listen to a bunch of prog I think before this kinda of music jives with your brain. Reminds me of listening to uncleans, takes sometimes years for it to connect, then brain on.

Yup, like last time.... You can hear and appreciate the quality of the musicians and the vocals, but the song as a whole.... It just doesn't do it for me...yet. 🤷‍♂
And I like to think I kinda like prog 🤔
