I’ve found that those of us who are vocalists and/or musicians just appreciate what people can do with their instruments, regardless of genre. :) I love hard rock and metal, but grew up singing classical music, show tunes, and hymns in choir, lol. People still sometimes don’t know what to do about my variety of musical tastes.
I would've suggested "Cleanse the Bloodlines" as the next Unleash the Archers song reaction. Amazing high register vocals that required crazy breath control.

“Unleash the Archers” should be way more famous than they are now. So overlooked that it’s absolutely criminal.
They have a good mix of Power/Death Metal in their music. I can usually only listen to a couple Power Metal songs in a row (think Dragonforce) before I get bored. With the harsh vocals, this band keeps me focused. Which is a good thing. Basically, yes, I agree.
Yea, power metal has always been hit or miss with me. Something different with UTA, they always hit.

If you are starting to like Brittany’s voice, check out their cover of “Northwest Passage”. It’s a very popular Canadian folk song, and it does a great job in showcasing Brittany’s voice (both in a screaming/belting way and in a more mellow/controlled way). There are even a cappella parts that really let you listen to her!

Got to talk to him a while before a show and also a super nice guy too. :) Amazing that Brittany can pull it off through an entire concert set (saw them twice). BTW - "blast beats" are typically faster than I think you believe them to be, and are mostly in death metal. I've been watching your reactions for almost a year.. Ever since I 'discovered' Nightwish and went down that creative rabbit hole that lead me to discover a whole wealth of simply beautiful stunning music and musical genres that at 52 years of age I've shamefully only now discovered and which in turn lead me to find young passionate charming and expertly informed young talents like yourself able to express and educate even old goons and geeks like me just how they do it and what makes them all so special. Thank you. Oh and I'm especially looking forward to this one. After the Finnish symphonic rockers this Canadian band has become a close 2nd favourite new band and this one is one of their best.. Can't wait for your analysis

I offer another gentle request to react to Wintersun's song, "Sons of Winter and Stars." Not only is the song itself fantastic and a metal masterpiece, but it features very impressive vocals by the band's composer Jari Mäenpää. His vocals are even more impressive considering he's missing a quarter of one of his lungs due to a battle with tuberculosis earlier in his life. I also love his vocals because he never sings without the deep emotions that are tied to the lyrics he wrote. Jari's music is not only epic, but extremely emotional.

Have you listened to Amaranthe? My suggestion is The Nexus because that’s how I was introduced to them even though one of the singers from that album is no longer with the band. I think anyways. Btw, love your facial expressions. They are adorable and make me smile ( which doesn’t happen often ).
Just gonna add: either The Nexus, Hunger or Amaranthine. The first two are heavier and the last one is much slower almost a ballad.
I recommend Dark Sarah's Dance With The Dragon. Some costuming, fun song (it is part of a story), and, in my uneducated opinion, good singing.

I’m in the same boat as everyone else here. The validation of someone else appreciating the music we like to listen to and to confirm it’s awesomeness is almost therapeutic and so uplifting. You’ve already reacted to so many of my favourites and I get to re experience listening to phenomenal songs for the very first time every new video (and share with me music new amazing music). @@antoniomaraspin Let me be clear, both songs shows her insane vocals. But Test your Metal shows her endurance and stamina in addition to the range...that song is like a devastating workout, vocally speaking.
I’ve read that Brittney has a choir/classical vocal background, and when the band started she made the decision to sing in a more classic 80s metal singer style, as opposed to the more common “female opera singer in a metal band” thing that is popular.
This decision has made the diversity of sounds and textures in UtA’s music so great, and made them my favourite band ever, since they have all the things I like in music.
She sings like a male power metal singer does, but she has that high range. I love it
This hits the nail on the head for why I really like them too. I've been trying to find female-led metal bands to get into and Unleash the Archers is the only one that hits it completely out of the ballpark. Other bands either sound like they just threw an opera singer into the studio (dozens of examples), instrumental complexity doesn't quite do it for my tastes (Semblant), or overall sound is too poppy (Amaranthe). This isn't hate on any of those bands, I enjoy listening to them all (Semblant comes the closest to hitting everything I'm looking for). But UtA just crushes it.

If you like their costumes you should look up a finish band called lordi their costumes are just outta this work I would almost give my first born to have their designer to make me a cosplay costume they are just something else personal opinion it's what kiss wishes they looked like but instead they are a no budget pta mom made costume in comparison please take a look at them they are from finland and so amazing

I get confused whenever I run into someone that plays D&D and doesn’t like metal.
My only guess is that, as an opera singer, perhaps she felt that culture didn't "allow" it. However, Elizabeth may have just told herself "To heck with that" and decided to branch out on her own.

It's a real epic song with a great video, lots of technically awesome stuff and loaded with emotion and passion from all members. I hoped you'd react to "Tonight We Ride " after the first one by the band, this was a great watch. :D

We watched their live pandemic concert last fall. Brittney hit every fucking note, full power, for like 90 minutes. It was unbelievable.

Perhaps a good idea could be Abyss, Souldbound or The Wind that Shapes the Land from their latest Album Abyss.
I saw UTA in some dive bar in Reading PA earlier this year, and I can confirm, they sound absolutely incredible in person!
Another Canadian band worth checking out is Spiritbox. Courtney has done a few live one take performances. Rule of Nines is a good one to start with. If you are willing to take on a longer video, The Mara Effect live at Silverside Sound really shows her range.
Spiritbox are amazing. I love all their stuff, but Rule of Nines and Blessed Be in particular. They're from Vancouver Island, as are Unleash the Archers
Their recent 3 part virtual concert they did for Sirius XM Liquid Metal would be a good place to start as well. Each part is 2 songs, and they are of amazing sonic quality plus you get to see the entire band. The Mara Effect at Silverside is amazing too.

Constance is amazing, but it only shows part of Courtney's talent!. Similarly, I agree, Holly Roller is perhaps not where to start! Holly Roller wasn't my favourite tune, but it is growing on me, especially now they released the drum play through.

Awakening is just a great showcase for the WHOLE band. It’s simply about the musicianship. It’s a great intro to the band as a whole and then down the Brittney rabbit hole we go.

@@justindriskill1523 on this track it's Brad doing the low growls, Grant doing the Smeagol-style. This was recorded years before the album came out.
@@indesignkat I didn't know that thanks for the correction. I know Andrew does the growls on Apex and Abyss (I saw him do them live a couple years ago)
They actually both do growls. Grant does the majority of them in newer material but in older songs, Braden did the deeper growls that Andrew does now.
@@indesignkat I thought it was Brayden . He did a lot of the growling before this album came out. Well him and Grant. I know they filmed this before they were signed to napalm records and they waiting awhile to release it.

I never describe myself as a metal fan, but then bands like this happen. 😊. My brain always goes back to the first time I ever heard a female lead metal band - Lacuna Coil. That would be another nifty band to see her react to.

Actually, we have in Montreal (Canada) the Monster Factory, which is a group of metal singers who have an expertise in the field of voice-acting for many types of virtual monsters and creatures in movies, video games, ect. so it's easier than mixing a few different animals sounds to create these voices and also, these singers could get more credit for their talent and work.
