This is an absolute dream of a set list for me! A bunch of songs from Nine Lives, I love it! I'm a 90's kid and Nine Lives is my absolute favorite Aerosmith album, I have loved it since it came out, so maybe it's nostalgia but I think the album is so cohesive and flawless. It rocks hard but has amazing ballads too. Steven's voice is absolutely phenomenal for this show, I'm so impressed! My throat hurts just listening to him sing, I don't know how he keeps it up. His songs are all high, his stamina is incredible!
The last great Aerosmith album, so good to hear so many tracks from Nine Lives on the 97-98 Tour. After this, of course, they never had the same confidence in the subsequent albums to ever play as many current songs again!
You're wrong! Saw them in 1993, one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Get a Grip was their last great album. Saw them again in 1997, didn't like it at all. Nine Lives is not a very good album, and they played too many songs from it. For the past 10 years or so, they've been playing lot of the old stuff, which is great!!!
That's your opinion!...and quite frankly I don't really give a fuck about your views...my problem was that you clearly can't read properly and were trying to be a wise guy but have just ended up being another sad internet Troll. Now get lost.
I saw this tour at Wembley Arena in 97 and then Wembley Stadium in 99 and agree with all the comments about them being at their peak after releasing this fantastic album and smashing it live. At the time they were (just) the right side of 50 and of course they had the 'Don't Want To MIss A Thing' bump a year later, Without that i don't think they would have been able to make the jump up from Wembley Arena to Wembley Stadium with such ease. I really think in the years since we have seen a gradual decline in their vitality and vibrance as live band and this tour was the last time I think anyone can say the band were firing on all cylinders, that's not to say that they haven't been thoroughly entertaining in the years since, just never back to this level. Honorary mention to Russ Irwin on Keys and Backing Vocals. Such an unsung hero adding those high harmonies at live shows. No easy task!
this is when i discovered Aerosmith. late 90´s. Aerosmith was the sh!t.thanks for posting. back them then was no way to watch a concert if they weren't playing in your country
Aerosmith Live in Nuremberg, Germany (1997) (full concert) Tracklist: 1.Nine Lives (1:34) 2.Love In an Elevator (5:03) 3.Falling In Love (Is Hard On the Knees) (10:36) 4.What It Takes (14:07) 5.F.I.N.E. (19:15) 6.Hole In My Soul (23:57) 7.Livin' On the Edge (29:42) 8.Pink (36:27) 9.Rag Doll (40:29) 10.Janie's Got a Gun (45:15) 11.Monkey On My Back (50:16) 12.Something's Gotta Give (55:13) 13.Dream On (59:03) 14.Sweet Emotion (01:04:40) 15.Mama Kin (01:11:00) 16.Walk This Way (01:16:04)
great concert, I was there... half of the time, our tent on the campside was flooded, but who would have thought that this was probably the last tour when they were really, really in shape.
Just for general information: the concert took place at the Nuerburgring, a formula one circuit in the western part of Germany, near the border to Luxemburg. Nuremberg is in the southeastern part about 200miles/320 Kilometers from the Ring (Circuit)
Probably Steven at his best here... His voice sounds awesomely in shape! Don't care what people say about Aerosmith from 1988-present, I still fuckin love em!
I think it’s because he just goes up on stage and really just enjoys the music and has a fun time and doesn’t give a fuck about anything else. Real rock n roll spirit I would say.
@Coolkayaker1 I agree with you and I have this on dvd it lacks a few things 1 you can't hear the audience sound 2 the sound is kind of muffled a little 3 I don't know if it's the stages lights or the poor camera they had that night and 4 between every song they go to the snake or the cat or black out which is kind of but Aerosmith them selves had the energy and it's still okay however I do hope another dvd from 1997 or 1998 will surface soon
You're welcome Coolkayajer1 yeah the dvd's are hard to find because they are very rare. I have also looked at the show from 2013 which is Sao Paulo Brazil one I have on dvd also that's a great show
This just reminded me that, at the time of the Nine Lives Album, I used to stick the label of the Chiquita bananas I ate on the back of my hands in honour of Steven :D (look at his right hand) But I think he's been doing that already since longer...
+TotalMishap I think this album and tour is where I check out. Synth strings n shit. Cheese. They were still epic rock gods in '94. There were still some aftershocks for a while...but this is where Steven started his transformation into crusty mascara sketchy grandma. Lol.
I always prefer Aerosmith's live sound to their studio sound, but frankly, I've been to a couple of their concerts and never thought much of their stage show. Incredible music, bland visuals.

I love bands who are legendary, yet, can still deliver a solid show with their current material at the time.
Yes, nine lives rules!
I love how prominent the bass guitar is in this mix! You can really hear Tom flying around!

Er...I think you'll find that 1997 comes after 1993...maybe you shouldn't be so quick to troll other comments, try reading the actual text first.
What are you talking about?
I'm just saying that you're wrong about "Nine Lives" being their last good album, because it's not. It sucks.
That's your opinion!...and quite frankly I don't really give a fuck about your views...my problem was that you clearly can't read properly and were trying to be a wise guy but have just ended up being another sad internet Troll. Now get lost.
You still don't get it, do you?
Anyway, don't take it so seriously.
I have no reason to insult anyone.
You must be German. No sense of humour.
AEROSMITH FOREVER! LONG LIVE AEROSMITH!
I saw this concert that year in Seattle. It was amazing!! 🎸 🎤♥️
That's great!!😊

The best Weekend of my Life.... Kiss, Supertramp and Aerosmith.
I found my Wife on the Festival.... I never forget it.
Smith is quite possibly the best band in history

@Ezekiel Randy you are welcome xD
Nine lives was a great tour. I stayed in Hamburg at this time and visited the concert in Alsterdorfer Sporthalle.

great concert thanks
Tom's bass is sooo cool‼︎
How Steven has been able to sing like this for so long is a medical mystery (that Jon Bon Jovi would like to inquire about).
In the year 97 what age was steven?
@@elcagondevoxer7473 49 years old
@@elcagondevoxer7473 50
I think it’s because he just goes up on stage and really just enjoys the music and has a fun time and doesn’t give a fuck about anything else. Real rock n roll spirit I would say.
I saw them on this tour. It was my first concert
Joe has that swing in his solos ...
great aerosmith , steven tyler the demon of screamin ,
*BRAD WITTFORD RULES, OMG HE IS TRUE ROCK GUITAR*
Too bad his guitar is not present in the mix
Thanks so much for sharing! I remember watching this show live on MTV! Great times.

Estaba furioso steven ahi!!
Hi Steven tyler from tylerdelaire
Aerosmith. Los amo.
Steven!love!
This is the most lackluster concert I have ever heard. Search Aerosmith live 2013 for Monsters of Rock, amazing show!
Thanks for that info, JoeM. I had no idea that it was on DVD. Please do check the full 2013 concert on youtube, about two hours long; great show!
You're welcome Coolkayajer1 yeah the dvd's are hard to find because they are very rare. I have also looked at the show from 2013 which is Sao Paulo Brazil one I have on dvd also that's a great show
yeah I watched it, amazing crowd and performance from those geezers lol. But the German crowd is always pretty tough
en 2013 no canta ni la mitad de lo que lo hacia en el 1997
Maravilha veio! 😊😊😊😊😊🇧🇷🇧🇷
hes totally at his best here! his best years! 1992-2004
They He was Awesome then !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Epic
Super Konzert
Great concert as always
Thank goodness.
show foda !
Strange without the audience noise...
May 18th, 1997.
This just reminded me that, at the time of the Nine Lives Album, I used to stick the label of the Chiquita bananas I ate on the back of my hands in honour of Steven :D
(look at his right hand)
But I think he's been doing that already since longer...
@ Paola: Yes, that's Joey... Don't you recognize him? :)
Haay no me encanta.
HELLO 2020?
Too much effects on Steve’s mic
Missing tracks 15 - 17
24:02 hole in my soul
It couldn't be 97 this album came out in 98
March 17, 1997.
'97
Don't cry, was the first song of GNR, and only 1991 show in Illusion 1
no audience noise no guitar sounds
:((((
Ist ja Geschmackssache=) Das Konzert ist geil.
Where the hell was that chorus singer?
this is Rock im Park and is not Rock Am Ring
was buck johnson playing with them back then?
Russ Irwin
It’s not a bad show, but really weird without any audience acoustics at all
the mix is really strange in general. drums and bass so prominent barely any guitar
Tough crowd. Grunge was dead and nobody knew what to back.
Does anyone know where I can find the MP3 audio for this?
Thanks-
BOOOOOOOO WHERE WAS THE DRUM BEAT IN WALK THIS WAY??? MIGHT AS WELL HAVE REMOVED THE RIFF. thats my favorite part of the song,
Where's all the good songs in this concert? So many left out for this newer crap. Crap songs:Love in an elevatorJanie's got a gunRag doll
+TotalMishap I think this album and tour is where I check out. Synth strings n shit. Cheese. They were still epic rock gods in '94. There were still some aftershocks for a while...but this is where Steven started his transformation into crusty mascara sketchy grandma. Lol.
Bryson Dockrill he's the coolest grandma though 😂
Agreed, commercial sell out songs
no taste of india after doll((((
Is that Joey Kramer in the drums? Or who the hell is he?
Yes, It's Joey Kramer the drummer... much younger and long hair in the 90's.
NerdGameCore around late 1997 is when his hair style changed. He had long hair up until late 1997 then he cut it short
Yes this IS him :)
Bad sound. I can hear only the guitar bass.
I always prefer Aerosmith's live sound to their studio sound, but frankly, I've been to a couple of their concerts and never thought much of their stage show. Incredible music, bland visuals.
Poor baby 😢
theART!!!ar-a !!? SerbiA! % aTar'!
Bill t. horrible
he looks so goofy walking around with the whole mic pole haha
Your face is goofy.
Aerosmith. Los amo.
