Totally agree with you that Tom's a beast on bass! But that riff you're hearing is Joe Perry, who plays the six-string bass on Back in the Saddle. Tom mirrors the notes during the verses, but Joe's tone carries the primary sound of the riff.
Always did Joe is cool and was a self taught left hander Brad was a professionally trained guitarist but never seems to mind not being given the credit he deserves for some reason. maybe because he can go anywhere with out getting mobbed by the press and rabid fans ? saw him in Sarasota Fl a few times and was the only person that recognized him talked for a few minutes each time and he actually saw me the second time and came up to me to say hello nice guy
Hey, this may be a dumb question, but is this what was called the 'E-Center' in Camden, NJ? I think my brother was at this concert if it was.. and I'd love to show him this if it is! Thanks in advance for your time and response.
How when they have two different guitars. Isn't there only one lead guitar. There's then a bass and a rhythm guitar. What??? Not picking on you but I'm interested in what you're rather saying. Can u explain that? If you're right then it could been times like once when some fool threw bomb on stage and hurt Joe's hand and arm really bad for awhile. Oh I know Joe Perry can play his lead guitar . Plays hell out of it. This is the all time best Rock group ever and every member rocking their parts. Joe and Steven so intelligent. If not for those two it wouldn't be as likeable. Joe got all the horsepower behind the band , sharp and plays best I've seen and Steven best vocals on Earth. Yes yes yes... Wow!!
@@glendajustice4104 Whitford and Perry have always traded off on lead. Perry used to be the one that everyone assumed was playing most of the leads in their most famous catalog. However, Whitford plays a lot more lead guitar than people really give him credit for.

Missing from this recording are (3) songs. Two of them are Dream On and Chip Away The Stone. They're missing because they did these songs on the "second stage" that was set up on the lawn section. I was at this show so that's how I know. Kid Rock and Run DMC were special guests.
I was lucky enough to be at this concert..kid rock opened..and we booed the shit out of him.Ppl were doing Eagles chants during his songs lol (1st game of the season was the next day) I thought it was so cool that RUM DMC was on stage to do walk this way at the end.
@@brithaddenhadden8383 All a matter of taste, which is totally subjective. I also think Tyler is probably the best front man; it's close between him and David Lee Roth when he was with VH. For me, they are both much more entertaining to watch than Robert Plant, who is widely considered to be the best...I'm talking about pure showmanship - NOT technical singing ability.
The 3 song missing because of a technical mishap that wasn't hooked up for sound doing taping for the second stage. I know this because I have the vhs tape with the 3 songs on it but no sound for the 3 songs but sound on the main stage when the dvd was release as a bootleg the 3 songs without sound was completely cut out of the dvd. I was also at this show. I wish there was another video release of the girls of summer/oh yeah tour 2002 besides the nine lives tour this was the best tour to me.
that little movie montage is what was playing on the screen during their walk to the mini stage, i know this from watching bootlegs of this tour on youtube
Marmee Lapierre every member has a time. Tom and Joey have Sweet Emotion, Steven has Dream On, Joe has Stop Messin Around, Brad has Last Child, and Buck has I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing

The best Rock group ever. I've been there the whole time. Yes!!
Tom Hamilton is a shy monster on that bass.
Check what the video shows at 6:25
He carries the riff by himself.
Fast and precise.

Caught this one. It was my seventh concert. Pity we’d lose Jam Master Jay a couple of weeks later.
f**king awesome show...thanks for this share.
Wow great catch. I didn't know she died on the same day
who is cyrinda?
Garrett Leding one of Steven’s wives that died, Mia’s mother.

I noticed Joe dedicated Stop Messin Round to Cyrinda.
why did steven put in every last breath into what it takes? i presume it has something to do with the fact that this is the day cyrinda fox died :(
