I absolutely love this bike, been having it for 3 weeks now and it puts a smile on my face every time I ride her. I have the gray colored one, already done some minor upgrades to her and they shall continue :)
Absolutely my favorite new Harley Davidson! I just picked up a ‘21 Low Rider S last year, with the 114, and wasn’t really swayed by the new 117 Low Rider S. But this one? With the fairing and the bags, and that FAIRING…..oh, that fairing!! I love the fairing! They just absolutely nailed this bike and I really don’t think I would change much at all. Except pipes of course. If…….or maybe I should say when I get mine, I’m immediately going for the entertainment system. No point being picky about it, you just bought a nearly $25k bike in America anyway, so get the whole experience!
I'm glad you mentioned how good the M8 looks aesthetically. That's is my main critic to the new Sportster Nightster. The Revolution Max looks great on the Pan American, but doesn't really match the styling they are going for with the smaller displacement Nightster
First Harley I’ve really felt attracted to. But with nearly 2k cc of churning pulses that mill must feel like a blast furnace between one’s legs. I’m going to have to ride one to be sure. Yet w/all of all its awesomeness, I suspect that massive mill is going to be a deal breaker.
looks great. Will sell a ton pof them. Only thing I don't like is that they could have a single pipe instead of 2 which would have permitted larger or longer, more practical bags.
I'm wondering if the posterior cylinder is cut off with the 117 engine of the Low Rider ST when you stand still at a trafficlight f.e. to reduce heat. I think this happens with the touring models.
Different size bags seem weird, especially when an only slightly different exhaust would have eliminated the need--and especially since most will change the exhaust?
I went for the black. The grey was nice but after looking at it for a while it looked unfinished....almost like it was a primer coat with a clear coat over top. The bronze and black looks amazing imo
Nice one Bob ! I agree that number plate position is nuts and potentially dangerous for a passenger. No doubt someone will come up with a relocation kit. But 20k... ouch! I'd rather have a Triumph Rocket for that money 🤔
Mostly like it. Hate the instruments and the raised short bags. Should be 2 into 1 Colour Black for me I'm guessing HD is trying to run thru all the Sport Glide bags that did not sell. I'd rather by the Lowrider S and add my own bags and shield / fairing
Curious... what was that little round screen thing on the left handlebar? I have not seen one of those and I don't think I know what it is. Cheers from Texas!
My big question? Which motorcycle would you ride 1000 miles ? African Twin or low rider st ? Which bike would you ride around town ? African Twin or low rider st ? And which bike would you ride to work ? African Twin or low rider st ?
Another great video. I have been hoping HD would offer the Sport Glide luggage on the Low Rider S. The fact that they have improved the rear shock and put the bigger motor in is a big bonus but that fairing is dog ugly. Do you know if it can be permanently removed? Smaller digital dash is much better and also nice to see cruise control as standard.
Unfortunately, like most Harleys it's no use for anyone over 6'2" tall or with long legs. A seat height of 720 mm and midmount pegs is ridiculous. I'll keep my Sport Glide, that's just about bearable.
Too bad it's 40k USD here in Norway. Recently bought a Tracer 9GT for 18k USD. The prices on HD's here is extremely expensive, thanks to our engine size tax.
I do not like that fairing. The bags are repurposed from the Sport Glide and don’t go well with the ugly fairing. I have a fixed fairing and love it, I think the Sport Glide with a bigger batwing would have been a better looking bike.
This is it. Or 3 good quality secondhand anythings, really. I ride a 2014 GS with 19k miles on the clock that is in very nice condition, and I bought it for £7500 last year. Could add something like a 2 or 3 year old Tenere for something off-roady or a 2 or 3 year old MT09 for a bit of a blast and then add one of those new BSAs or Enfields to that… 3 fun different bikes!…. or buy one not particularly versatile Harley that will make you enter every bend 30% slower than you want to. And those big American front fairings look a bit weird.
"LED lighting all round". Well no... the damn indicators have light bulbs in them. I hate it when manufacturers do this. No vehicle should be coming off the production line with light bulbs in the year 2022. Especially not a motorcycle that costs this much. Automotive industry needs to stop spitting in the face of their customers like this.
Comparing the price to the base model road glide and street glide, I don’t know why you’d shell the same money out for a less capable “baby-bagger.” I really don’t understand what niche this bike is trying to fill.
I still don’t understand what this bike is for. You could put aftermarket luggage and fairing on a soft tail for much less than this bike costs, if you want a baby bagger. If you actually want a touring bike, it costs the same as a road glide, and I bet the touring bike is more comfortable to ride. I mean, sure, it’s got a 117, but so what? It’s not a muscle cruiser, so I don’t understand it, that’s all.
How to put it; since quite a while, this is the first Harley I'm impressed with. However, Harley is reputable to spoil things up by integrating mindless designed components. Why in this world they haven't selected an exhaust pipe that could accommodate a more balanced luggage shape. They did raised the bags up by 2 in to give it more stance, so instead of filling up that new gap with a redesigned bag similar to the one on the left side, they choose to put a 2 into 2 exhaust system . !!?? WTF. !?? And what about that silly brace stickin out of the bag??! You would NEVER see such a silly design on a Ducati or a BMW. Nevertheless, I've ordered a 2023 that I know that I'll spend some time modifying at least the seat, which is WAY TOO LOW in relation to the pegs height, change the handlebars which are TOO HIGH, and eventually, modify/fabricate a right side luggage bag more appropriate to that bike. I've been riding for 45 years. I lost the count of the number of bikes I've owned and operated/modified during that time. In my mind, riding a bike should not be like sitting in a deep couch to watch a tv show. You should sit "on it" or "on top of it" in order to have a good control of the machine. Look at "The King of the Baggers race" (ruclips.net/video/BOFDCnA7zb8/видео.html); do they look like Uncle Bob eating pop corn watching TV !!?? :)
There’s a lot to like about this bike, but the looks don’t do it for me. That fairing and the number plate location/fixings would be unacceptable on a £3000 Chinese 125! And the price! My Tiger 850 Sport and Enfield Classic 500 still leave £5000 change. May appeal to existing Harley riders but new sales from open minded bikers, I don’t think so.
@@CBR250RMAN Even their 2023 range has stupidly heavy bikes with single discs. No other serious manufacturers make bikes over 1000cc without double discs that I can think of
I love the look of the bike APART from that hideous fairing which to me, looks a bit like a baby's bath tub stuck on the front! I'm sure it works well but I couldn't live with it. Great videos thanks. 😀👍
For you, the price isn't too bad....for me, it's too much for what you get.... I like your reviews, but come on mate, try to be a little more objective when you talk about what is...and what isn't too much money...
I understand why they did it.. I do,, but 🤮 that asymmetrical right rear saddle bag looks like shit. On a good note, It’s about time Harley brought the clocks errr the clock off the dash of the Low Rider. In all of Harley‘s infinite wisdom to look down at your gauges 🤷♂️ as if motorcycle riding wasn’t dangerous enough? The laydown license plate is the look here in SoCal. We don’t ride with giant billboards here in the US, no need to worry about plate relocation my British friends🤙. Remember to save a little coin after purchase. Definitely my favourite looking Harley. Grey looks good but I'd go black all day 👌

Nice looking bike. Is the engine rubber mounted and is there vibration at high highway speed? 80 plus MPH. In reference to say a road glide.

Colour Black for me

It seems you won't be able to install any sort of practical luggage rack with that supersized numberplate.

I like the black one and also the quieter mufflers. The gray one is well, horrible.......Sal : )
This is the only newer Harley I'd consider trading up my dyna street bob 110 for....if I could find one.
If you are looking for decent pipes, you need the Conquest Customs Ground Pounders. they are...... violent... 🙂
Go wrap around license plate if you can over where you are.
if the engine is good it doesn't need any dummy plastic shenanigans to hide it like in HD sportster s and nighster
Yea, I don't get why they did that. I love the way it looks in the Pan Am.
Optioned up price equals a Yamaha GT plus a Tenere 700 (there's other choices too). Doesn't add up for me 😅
