I bought the tiger sport 660 in roulette green because your vids. I didn’t know these even existed until I saw your vids. And this bike is exactly what I needed. The sporty side of a naked, with the practicality of a small “touring”. So yh, thx Bob! It’s coming somewhere this month :)
@ If you have some spare time, go book a testride. The engine is amazing, very smooth down low and builds up nicely. Way more comfortable and controlable then a parallel twin. And the chasis feel amazing. It’s very nimble and flickable. Low speeds it very easy and smooth and mid to high speeds also feel very good. And the seating position is very comfy. And when you wanna push it a lil’, you just lean forward a bit and you can really enjoy some sporty riding
Top list, as always! About to choose between the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ and the Ducati V2S. Would be super interested on your takes on both, following some testing!
Looking forward to your review of the Pan America ST. Wouldn’t really call any of their baggers sport touring bikes, but the Pan America ST fits better with the other bikes you reviewed in terms of comparison.
I’m still rocking a burnt orange 2017 1000sx. I would upgrade but the repeated offerings of Kawasaki green and gunmetal bland paint schemes don’t excite me at all.
Street Glide but no Goldwing....Suzuki? hmmm that is difficult to understand. Yamaha and KTM keep making such polarising designs. They certainly keep me away from a purchase. Looks like a honda 1100 is on the horizon for my dollars. As always enjoy the MB content and style. Keep it going!
I'm holding off for the Tracer 9gt+ to replace my RT1200. I ride a lot at night, and that automatic gear box is going to help with some of the work I do with my bikes
Massive minus point for NT1100 in Thailand is : Side cases are not standard equipment and not even have the option to buy it. Only way you can get it is to order sperate from Honda Europe by your self. Because of Honda Europe came with side cases as standard. None of major case malefactors care to make a rack for it. That's mean the only option left for you to use side cases is to make DIY rack to use with NT1100.
Harley davidson and touring should never be in the same sentence. Imagine trying to ride 2 up, with luggage probably weighing 500kg+ on a 40% inclined british switchback? Or on italian cobbled steets? Or super narrow german streets? Or navigating around French drivers on a French roundabout? Or loading onto a Greek ferry? Or dodging Norwegian potholes in the north? Or wanting to open-up down Spanish mountain passes? Touring on a harley davidson sounds like hell
I come from Harley and I conccur. Harley are not that much comfy, very heavy and none can take a helmet inside a saddlebag ... none. The luggages are ridiculous. All of that for bikes that have less and less actual metal parts and those parts are thinner and thinner. The toughness impression is not there anymore. But prices went up and they do not retain their value anymore.
Harley Davidson have completely lost the plot with those pricings, no wonder their Oxford dealership is closing down lol, keep being delusional HD, your company is only making profits in your deluded mind.
I love Harley have rid of them for 20 years, but I recently stopped for a little bit and when I went back to the dealership to buy one, I was price shocked basically the same bike about 10 years ago for much more money now I’m looking for something else
@@Chipsandmayo-OG bottom line is value. A $100 dollar screen is not worth thousands! Funny thing is i make more Momey now than i did 10 yeara a go when i hought my last street glide and maybe cuz am older Or cuz everything is so damn expensive the price of the new street glide jusr seems out of touch, am not the only fact is harley sells are low to the point were dealers are closing. They need to wake up man.
Love the KTM 1390 SDGT, I used to own a gen 1 1290 SDGT and I loved it but ended up wanting something a bit more comfortable. Got a KTM 1290SA-S now which I love, same engine albeit tuned a bit different and a lot more comfortable for big mileage. I really hope KTM can sort out their finances, be a real shame if they fold. That F900XR is a nice looking thing though.
They've have had the 790/890 cam issues which is being addressed by KTM. I think the initial reaction from them wasn't very customer friendly, which has caused a lot of upset online. Now all the Financial problems and some people seem to want to see ktm go down. Don't understand that, they make great bikes....some are a bit marmite but they're different, I like that.
2015-2019 Kawasaki Versys 1000LT was $12,995 & only needed a suspension upgrade to be perfect for 2 up sport touring. Then they turned it into a $19,995 dad bike with electronics galore & priced themselves right out of the market. 😢
With the Tiger Sport 800 garnering so much praise it almost seems as though the middleweight sports tourer segment is making a comeback which is super exciting to me. That said, the 800 and the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX are easily the two I'd most like to own. The rest get quite a bit too tech heavy or are a bit too underpowered (Sport 660) for my preference. And I'll never find anything about American style tourers exciting - and I say this as an American. Also, I'll never understand why people think the Multistrada is a handsome motorcycle. Sure, it's not downright ugly like it's first version but it's such a goofy looking motorcycle. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though. It's a shame that Ducati gave up on the Supersport, I think it'd do well in the current market.
@samoksner As a sports tourer? I personally don't think so. Sure, anything can be one but first and foremost it's a sport bike right? I think its engine in a Supersport with cruise control, an adjustable windscreen, heated grips and some OEM luggage options would probably be pretty incredible though.
Be nice in that green colour...and any clocks ,bar the one it comes with...hopefully Bad Winners will make a plug in replacement, like the Svartpilen 701
If you ride urban at night, do not get a Tracer with the split headlight, please. I ride bikes and I almost turned in front of a scooter rider with split lights because all I saw at night were the headlights of a car 300 metres away and not a bike 25 metres away outside of my beam. It left me shaken that I was so close to misjudging that.
This years top tracer is f-ugly. But if that light system is amazing, i would consider it. Had the TDM850 gen2 odd ball. Sometimes ugly can be a hidden gem.
Next brilliant scheme for KTM is give you 30 days of full power then shutting it down by 30 horsepower if you don't pay up. Just kidding KTM don't borrow my idea unless you provide me a new R12S.😁😁
At last colour actually on the front facing bits. Roulette Green great. But why are we expected to pay more for it? …a gambling ad coming up soon, for the risk attracted?
Did Suzuki go out of business? LOL. Also, wouldn't the KTM SMT be a good inclusion? Looking at most of these, beauty is not a criteria. Maybe no updates though?
Lots of great bikes. Some of them are way overpriced. I've never had a Triumph but that 800 Tiger looks gorgeous in yellow. The 660cc is enough power for me, but it looks a bit weedy next to the 800cc/ Hmmmmm.
Tiger Sport 800 is the sweet sport for a midsize touring/sports touring that's not a litre class bike. Best looks in class (sorry Tracer 9 you are just REALLY ugly) and non-T crank Triumph triple engine fun (byebye Chinese parallel twin engine of the F900XR) with more ompf than the 660.
Hopefully next year an AfricaTwin competitor with an 1100 cc, vstrom 800 construction, engine, 110-120 HP, 19/17 inch spoked wheel, 180 mm e-suspention from the GX 👃

I agree. Yamaha just can't get the looks right. Every generation just seems to get uglier. The same with mt09, which journos keep praising. What the hell are they playing at?

Does anyone really like all those Automatics? I've tested both Yamaha's new box and Hondas DCT. And I don't like them. They shift too hard and goes to a too high gear, that makes the ride sluggish and keeps you waiting for the downshift before you can overtake or get away from a dangerous situation. DANGEROUS!
I own a new Honda NT1100 DCT, and the gearshift is so smooth you can barely tell it’s changed gear (both up & down). Far slicker than any manual box with or without a quick shifter. There are 3 sports modes which hold onto gears longer to varying degrees, so no problem if you want a more spirited ride with predictable gear changing…
Have you actually ridden one? I have a Tiger 660 and would happily tour on it! Might lack a bit of power when two up with luggage but that's why they've introduced the 800. Many people tour with the Tiger sport and love it.
