I don't usually comment much, but I think you should know that I've played this at least 15 times in the last couple of months. I've been searching for experimental music for an upcoming film I'm scoring, and this has been hugely inspirational. I love the high recurring motif. It gives it a theme without it being a traditional theme. 10/10, WILL listen again :)
Thank you SO much! And yeah, most of what I do on the Pulsar ends up being in the "scoring" territory. It is such a great instrument to create musical ambience, switching back and forth between tonal motifs and atonal sparks of noise. Thanks to your comment, I am now even prouder of this recording. Thank you again.
I really love the stuff you do with the Pulsar. Amazing! Maybe one day you'd consider a walk through video of a patch like this one as there don't seem to be many people using it in this unique way. Thanks for the great ambience :D
Humbled 🧡 I definitely will, and I should start considering split the Pulsar videos in half, with the first part being the performance and an instructional second half for the patch breakdown, mostly because of the kinda unpredictable nature of the Pulsar 😁
@@DexbaThat's a great idea! For me, the Pulsar is a deep instrument that definitely needs lot of time investment to get the most out of it. Nudges and ideas in this ambient direction would be great :) Keep up the amazing work sir!
Thank you so much 🧡 And sure: the core idea is using the HHT and the CLAP as tonal voices, exploiting the self-oscillating filters. Sequencing is coming in part from the clock divider, in part from the SHAOS (also providing the pitch modulation, tamed by the attenuators). I actively play the FX, using the BPF mode for more rhythmic/predictable sounds, and the PCH for the sparse clouds of noise; I also play the BASS, very classic, moving between high resonance and different waves, to mimic a chant. Pulsar > OTO BIM > OTO BAM (with high gain settings, for more crunchiness)
Brilliant patch! Been exploring something along these lines lately. Love the weirdness and rhythmic patterns you can get from playing the effects section. Puts me in mind of Tangerine Dream Zeit
Tough question! The CXM to me sounds better in almost every situation, except when you want some dirt, coming from the analogue gain inside the OTO pedals. Plus, I really love having both the BIM and BAM together. I think the only problem with the CXM is the price: when I got it, it was almost twice an OTO BAM, and that doesn't translate anywhere near to a double value as a pedal. But I still have it and can't wait to make a new video with the PRO3
Great! This is why I bought the Pulsar. I get tired of all the techno demos on RUclips. They bore me rigid.
Thank you so much 🧡 I am glad I'm not alone in this borderline-misuse of the Pulsar ;)
Amazing soundscape, mesmerizing!
Thank you so much!
Playing the Pulsar is a process, and I get lost frequently, mesmerized myself 🧡

Check out Tangerine Dream if you’re not familiar with them

I love how you turn the Pulsar into an ambient machine -- excellent stuff!!
Thank you a lot!
One day I'll try to use it as a drum machine too, just for fun 😁
Loving my Pulsar. Beauty is, it’s an ANYTHING machine!
Stunning!
Humbled! Thank you so much!
mmm beauty atmospheric vibe
Thank you a lot! I rarely used the Pulsar as a drum machine, I always enjoyed this side of it more :)
This is brilliant. Sitting here stunned.
Honoured 🧡
I am glad it's giving you the vibes I got playing this
wow...............love the epic dramatic tones and atmospheric drifting..............................
Oh yeah! I didn't even spend time thinking about the title: this was an "ominous soundtrack" from the beginning to the end!
Glad you liked it!
Grande! 👍👍
Ti ringrazio molto 🧡

this is so great! Can you share more detail about this patch?
Thank you so much 🧡

@@nordeuk Thank you so much! And have fun, the effects are an instrument on their own!
Who are you trying to summon? 👻 🧙♀️
Ahah I'll tell you when I'll succeed 😁
no cxm ? which one do you prefer between bam and cxm?
Tough question!

A drum machine...yes but....
I find it too inspiring to let it be a "simple" drum machine! Brilliant instrument 😁
