  • Let's make a bunch of variations on the same break, and then jump between them and make variations out of that too!

    I can stare at most RUclips videos, waiting for someone to get to the point. I'll need to watch this several times, with a notepad, just to absorb it all. I would dissolve into maniacal laughter here, but I might miss some of the video. Love you guys.

    Question here. I picked up a morphagene, Is it possible to do something about the noise floor?
    When everything is silence the morphagene created some soft buzzing digital noise. this happens even without input.

    Exstatik! Can you please clarify -- as if for newbee -- the routing going on to/from the Mult? I go back and forth among the most recent vids and see things happening that do not seem to conform with the basic in/out architecture. Or... maybe I'm just deluded. (I watched the Mult spotlight vid using the Shared System way back when; but that is straight ahead with an explicit bridge between the first and second channels. Thanks. You continue to amaze and inspire!

      Sure thing! The Mimeophon's Left and Right outputs are each multed to the respective Morphagene inputs, as well as to the Left and Right inputs on the XPO. This means that what we are hearing is the outputs of the Mimeophon, but that at the same time those outputs are feeding the Morphagene for the easy recording of these variations:
      Mimeophon L Out -> Mult Ch1
      Mult Ch1 -> Morphagene L In
      Mult Ch1 -> XOH L In
      Mimeophon R Out -> Mult Ch2
      Mult Ch2 -> Morphagene R In
      Mult Ch2 -> XOH R In

    This is very cool. I'm wondering how long does it takes to Tempi to drift from Morphagene once you have removed the clock cable?

    • @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC
      @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC  Год назад +1

      it will eventually drift out of phase, but probably take a long time to do so. if you change gene size or varispeed then it'll go out of phase immediately of course. if you're not modulating those things at all then may as well just keep it patched :)

    How do you make a splice like the first one that perfectly loops? I remember there being some software you need to download to place precise splice markers on an audio clip, but I think it wasn't free?

    • @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC
      @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC  Год назад

      It can be done on the Morphagene itself with the Splice button. With a one-splice Reel like this you don’t need to place Splice points in software, but our preference for placing Splice points is Reaper, which is free to try with no time limit (and very reasonably priced when you are ready for it!)

    • @colinwood9717
      @colinwood9717 Год назад

      @@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC thanks for the reply! I guess what I actually meant was, if you're recording directly into the morphagene and manually pressing the rec button how would you get a perfectly looped splice (without having impeccable timing?) In other words, is it possible to "trim" a splice without using a computer to get it to loop perfectly? I guess it's probably easiest to just load the sample by dropping it onto the sd card instead of trying to record from the inputs. Maybe there's a way to do it only on the morphagene by making the gene size super small and scrubbing through to the end of the loop and hitting "splice", then deleting the new splice? Hmmmmm

    • @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC
      @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC  Год назад

      @@colinwood9717 What I do might be similar to what you are saying, I record a little extra at the beginning and end, then use Gene Size and Slide to "Zoom in" so I hit the transients at the loop points exactly. I hit Splice at these points and then remove the Splices before and after to "crop" it.
