for ONCE I would like an actual complete air rifle technical spec walkthrough. here are the standard technical elements that ANY walkthrough should include: 1. spec of the spring and or piston ram. literally what IS IT? name it with specs 2. actual length of barrel....not the unrifled moderator.... 3. cocking force 4. barrel drop measured in degrees...yes almost ALL air rifles in the break barrel have some droop...knowing this would help shooters understand what kind of rail mount to purchase instead of testing the very limits of reticle range. (which is to be avoided as this literally creates the conditions for scope failure) 5. why even both selling these with cheap ass scopes that will never function or be accurate or hold zero? it's pathetic. 6. what is the ACTUAL dimensions of the breech diameter. it is 4.5 or 4.51, or 4.49? yes, it matters when selecting the best fiting pellet to match the breech! 7. rifling manufacturing method..hammered? cold? slipped? drilled/lathed? what is twist rate? is the bore chromed? 8. what is the lowest weight the trigger can be tuned? 9. is the barrel bedded? does the barrel float at all? yes, this matters, obviously given so much advice has been given for a specific "artillery hold"! That can definitely be overcome simply by designing these air rifles with proper bedding and design. 10. what IS pull length distance. butt to trigger? 11. WHAT IS THE WARRANTY...DOES IT EVEN EXIST? 12. Where do you go to find an actual parts catalog? Where do you find parts to order such a the basic maintenance parts? seals? screws? gaskets? 13. What specific grease is used to lubricate the piston barrel and when and how much and how often? 14. What specific pellets for each specific air rifled is better than others. these are the things that I really don't like about air rifles manufacturers and the people who promote them. These air rifles could be so much more valuable and useful and attract a far greater number of enthusiasts if it was presented in a more professional and open and transparent way. just my opinion. I own five air rifle..from 4 different manufacturers. God Bless America
you are right on the money with your comments. Its a chinese made air gun. OK . thats how it is. but back it up with some warranty info and parts availability as you say. Crosman does those things, 5 years on their nitro piston. Barra, finish the job and give us warranty and parts information.
You obviously know your air rifles, which attracts my curiosity in your comment that you have five. Which ones, if you don’t mind sharing. Opinions from commenters are just as, if not more, valuable when one is considering purchasing an air rifle. I own a small arsenal of firearms, and I am getting more and more interested in air rifles. So your opinion would be appreciated and what you’ve actually purchased.
