Many thanks for posting this video. Lovely location and beautiful sea! Definitely needed to be out. Lots of great fish, great to see the enjoyment too. Best wishes, Kev
Nice one Chris, some nice chunky cod coming up there and good to see the wrasse and ling from Beadnell. I must have missed that flat day as it’s always choppy for me 🤣🤣
Was only out couple weeks ago and was none stop, only a few canny ones, me brother had a nice 8lb cod and made the classic mistake of putting it on the kayak without holding it and it jumped back in 🤣🤣 needless to say he wasn’t too pleased. Keep up the good vibes and catch you out there again soon 🎣🎣
The irony of this having just eaten lunch in Beadnell car park, where there is a good 4M+ sea raging outside the window! Funny too, the only place I’ve ever caught ling off the rough ground has been Beadnell. Cheers
Yeah I’m aware of a few ling that have come out of that very spot. There’s often wrasse there too but not so much this year. Did you have fish n chips from the new place? It looks canny.
Wow that baby ling was stunning mate nice catch!!! I was out at Flamborough Head other weekend and blanked unfortunately the fish wasn’t feeding but o well it’s a beautiful place to be out there anyway, great content mate well done 👍
Great session looks like the weather was spot on to, consistent fishing though plenty fish about always a good sign thanks for the upload again Chris take care.
Be great to see you over on the West Coast of Cumbria. If your heading over be sure to pop in and say hello im in "cumbria tackle and Guns" in whitehaven. Tight lines.
@@onthedropfishing it's amazing Chris. I've had some really good fishing days so far. Some lovely Yellow Fin Tuna, Harmoour/Grouper, Giant Trevally and huge Sea Bass. The jigging is amazing out here, they go wild for them. The current can be strong though especially these last few summer months.
You've almost got me wondering about a fishing kayak..... Just back from Ardnamurchan myself, lots of pollock but nothing massive. Try west coast of Gigha for some bigger pollock if you're feeling adventurous. Beautiful and a good stamp of fish.
They’re both definitely on the list. I’ve always fancied Adnamurchan but just never got round to it. You’d love kayak fishing, it’s such an immersive way to fish. Tight lines and thanks for the suggestions 👍🎣
Cracking video(s). Ploughed through watching them all. You’ve really fired my mate and I up to get out on the water! Hopefully catch a glimpse of you out n about as we’re local too! 😂
Hi Ryan, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. It’s a great sport. Fingers crossed we get a break in the weather soon! It’s been weeks since I last got out 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing Hi again... Quick question please. The Hook Reveal fish finder, does that require the C-Maps subscription? Lush bit of kit... obvs comes with a price tag. Curious if you'd recommend any other cheaper alternatives. Totally new to the fish finding business.
Hi mate, yes you buy the C-maps card separate. It comes with a basic built in map but it’s not really for fishing. The Garmin Striker 4 plus is a canny budget finder. I used to have one 👍
A location suggestion I would really like to see featured and maybe glean some local and launch info about is 'Cove Harbour' just up the coast past St.Abbs. Nearest postcode to it I can find is TD13 5XD.
Hi Chris, do you think you would be able to shoot a video of you arriving at a venue and show launching off at the start of your trip ,I'm sure viewers be interested to how you do it . Kind regards Chris Pearce👍
Hi Chris, in some of my earlier vids you can see me arrive at the venue, walk to the launch etc but I’m kind of between a rock and a hard place there because if I don’t get into the fishing within the first minute or two people bail on the vid. Perhaps I could incorporate the launch into the intro? I’ll have a think about it 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing , Chris that's what I ment , i would love that cos your way of fishing is making me think twice about my boat , I fish from seahouses and Beadnell, and go down to Craster sometimes, its fantastic fishing and caught some great fish, love it here 👍
Thanks Glen, there were loads of fish around that day, lots of small stuff as well that didn’t make it into the vid. Horses for courses though isn’t it, I wish we had more bass, bream gurnard etc up here! 🤣🎣👍
Skye for Pollock. No messing, fully guaranteed worthwhile Road trip. The Weather…. Well, that’s a whole new conversation!! Would take a bit of planning, not exactly somewhere you can play by ear I suppose.
@@onthedropfishing I’m heading there Monday for a week on the rocks. Big Rod, Medium Rod, LRF. Apparently it’s lifting with Big Pollock at the moment 🙏🏻
Hi Chris Great Video as always can I ask were you get the straps from that keep the motor secure ? only as I have just bought one for my supaNova :) thanks mate keep the vids coming
Have you ever caught anything unusual for Northumberland? Rays, hounds etc? Cause your fishing out from the shore jus wondered. I heard there’s rays and hounds away from the shore up there
I haven’t caught a Ray or a hound but I did catch a Spanish mackerel about three years ago from the shore! That doesn’t mean there aren’t hounds or rays though (I know folk who’ve caught rays from the shore) because I nearly always lure fish so not likely I’d catch them anyway. It’s definitely changing with the warmer seas though. I was catching mackerel in November last year. 👍🎣
Another cracking session Chris. I've been on the galaxy website nearly everyday for the last couple of months wanting to buy a kayak but I chicken out last minute as I'm not 100% confident on the safety at sea part of it. Wind, swell, tides ect. Have you got a video explaining this ?
Hi mate, I don’t have a vid on it the reason being everybody’s level of competency is different and what’s good for one might not be for another. It very much depends on the area as well. I’d suggest joining a local kayak fishing Facebook group or asking on Kayak Fishing UK if there’s anyone local to you who can give you the local info regarding safe conditions. Hope that helps👍🎣
Hi mate, I suppose it depends on your budget really. You could buy new or maybe get a full set up second hand. This is the time of year people usually sell. Whatever you get make sure it’s at least 12 foot long and comes with a rudder. Join a few Facebook groups as well. Plenty of friendly folk in this game. Hope that helps 👍🎣
Hi Ed, it’s just a cheapo from BnM, I ordered some male “star mounts” from China years ago, just screwed a one on to the bottom of the box. Job done, about £5 in total 🎣
I use two at the moment David, the Galaxy Sturgeon FX and the Supernova FX. I like them both but the Sturgeon FX is probably a better bet if you’re just starting out 👍🎣
