Tut tut. Paddling side on to a wave. Rookie error. At least it was close enough the beach that you were able to bet back on. Lovely days fishing, even though the water was lumpy and a cod pooped on you.
Cheers mate ... Really enjoyed the video, you look so at ease out there I’d love try the kayak ... thanks for sharing, hope you didn’t lose anything when you tipped over, take care 👍🎣🎣
Nice vid again. Think I saw you in the week at drive through costa in Gosforth, took too long getting served so I couldn’t pop out and say hi, atb Pete
Thanks for uploading another great video. As always, love to see your enjoyment. Was interesting to see the different conditions throughout your trip. Slightly lumpy sea to fairly calm and blue sky to dark rain clouds and larger swell. Pays to be prepared. Shame to see you go over though, you were almost in! Best wishes, Kev
You have to be catching, to get crap on you lol, well, you got sh#t a plenty today 😄. Bit loppy out there Chris, but rewarded with some decent fish, then at the end......we all know the tune.....Da da da da da da.....da da adar da dar😎😎👏👏
Well at least the dunking washed the cod plop off my drysuit! 🤣. That moment in the surf you realise you no longer have control is quite liberating to be honest! 🤣🎣
Brilliant once again Chris. Did you get any damage from the roll at the end? That's why it's always a good idea to have all the safety gear on, it could just as easily have happened out in deep water. Have you made a video about the safety kit that you use and why its needed. Thanks a bundle for sharing your great adventures with us.👍
Hi Robby, everything was battened down for landing as usual so nothing lost and nothing broken luckily. That’s a good idea regarding the safety kit. I’ll probably do that as a short section in a fishing vid. Glad you’re enjoying the content, tight lines matey 👍🎣
Great video again Chris. I would like to know what make are your boots for kayaking? I wear crocks in the summer. But want some warm ones for the colder weather. Cheers buddy Anchorman Mick
Hi Mick, glad you enjoyed it. They’re just waterproof shoes from Tesco would you believe. I’ve tried all sorts and they’ve lasted the longest so far 👍🎣
Awwww Chris , I bet you could have done without that dunk lol! It looked a nice steady day of catching though , nice vid as all ways and looking forward to the next . Take it easy.
I haven’t Matt, I had a cracking session at Craigleith on the other side in August though. They’re Just a couple of hours drive from me so on the list for sure. Any launch info would be gratefully received. 👍🎣
Morning mate. Probably a wee bit up the coast from there at Crail harbour would be the best bet. There's a ramp down to a horse-shoe beach to the west side of the harbour that is pretty sheltered. I can remember quite a few years ago going out in my mates' boat and we were only ever about 200-400 yards offshore and fishing a drift in front of the static caravans at Kingsbarns. Rough ground, loads of kelp and clear water. Fished across a low tide with small bits of lugworm on new shiny hooks with red and white big beads. We (3 of us) nabbed 110 cod in about 2 hours across the low turn, what a busy day that was. !! Seemed to me that the fish were more interested in the colour than the bait and might be a cracking spot for lures with the stink on. You get down to the harbour via Shoregate and following down to the right at the bottom of the hill. Not sure if parking is still free. There's a water sports club at Elie which is a bit further west but again, decent access from the beach. Your Navionics charts would be a go to for spots along the Elie side. The chat up here seems to point to it being a decent year so far for winter cod from the shore but the aforementioned are definitely summer marks though. This would be a really good video of the local area and I hope you get a chance to fish it. Hope this helps a bit mate. Cheers. Matt.
Matt you’re a star! I’ve screen shot this and I’m going to get on Navionics tonight and keep an eye on the weather! Thanks very much for all that great info I appreciate you taking the time to do that. I’ll definitely get up there, if not this year then next for sure. Tight lines mate 👍🎣
Did you lose anything Kev. That happened to me, but i was a a little further out, kayak spat me out and my Pdf rose above my head, i panicked because i couldn't see any thing and touch bottom, lucky my boy was near by and came to help me, i was gutted i lost a good rod and a decent lure as well, kayak went straight on Ebay😂
No I didn’t lose anything Wayne, I had everything battened down for landing so luckily nothing lost or broken. Sorry about your rod. It’s super important to have you’re straps properly tight on your pfd as you found out. Any play and they will ride up. Less comfortable but safer. Sorry you felt you had to sell your kayak! 🙁
🤣 I like it! Positive thinking! Aye I’ve been lucky enough to have avoided a tipping in the surf for many years but I guess it catches up with us all. Luckily everything was battened down and nowt was lost or broken 👍🎣
Another great watch, Just needed the music from Hawai five-O at the end🤙🤙
Thanks John, yeah if I close my eyes I can hear it 🤣🎣
I've recently found your videos thank you there brilliant mate
Thanks very much, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. Hoping to get out this week just keeping my fingers crossed for the weather! 🤞🎣
That's a great way of washing the Cod Poo off your drysuit at the end Chris, great tip 👍
With hindsight I should’ve just hosed it down in the garden….🤣🎣
Cheers Chris for uploading again 👍 and amazing session 👍 🎣🎣
Thanks very much Remon, glad you enjoyed it 👍🎣

😂 😂😂 I wasn't side on to begin with! the nose dug in! Lush day to be out though and nice to be catching. I love the smell of cod cack really 👍🎣
Nice video Chris I bet the first thing you done after flipping was have a quick look up and down the beach to see if anyone saw you ha ha
Steve
The beach was packed Steve 🤣
Top video Chris, some nice fish mate especially the wrasse.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Thanks very much Glen, the wrasse were really late to show on our coast this year but I’ve caught a few this last two months 👍🎣

another great video Chris. I have the older model of the PDF really comfy!
And now I know it floats as well! 🤣🎣
@@onthedropfishing aye happens to the best of us. Lol.

Nice session bud. Codling were biting well. Nice Wrasse. Even managed a short swim that time ;-). All the best
Cheers mate, yeah just needed to cool off after the pedal in 👍🎣
Great to see you back!!!
I’ve managed a couple of trips in the last fortnight. The weather is pants again now though! 👍🎣
Great session and video, I hope you didn’t lose too much gear when you ended up in the drink 👍👍🤠

It was fine Andy, everything was battened down so nothing lost or broken. Drysuit as well so all good. It comes to us all! 👍🤣
Hi Chris, have you ever fished the east Neuk of Scotland. ? Ellie, earlsferry, St Monans area all decent ground for kayak.

A cold swim buddy, great video again - what rod are you using please? It looks great
It wasn’t too cold as it happens! Luckily I was layered up under my drysuit. The rod is a Rovex Integra Gold 6ft 8-14lb 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing thank you
A wee dip in the drink always blows the cobwebs oot lol I hope nobody was watching 😅

Hey mate what rod you using on the kayak. This year was my first season out on mine but the rod i used was 8-9ft which was a bit of a pain
Hi Timothy, I’m using a 6ft Rovex Integra Gold 8-14lb Rod. 6/7 ft is the perfect size in my opinion 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing hi mate thanks for getting back to me really appreciate it.
Hi Chris, what spray are you using on your lures?
Hi Ian, it Sticky Baits Bait Spray. I’m not sure it makes any difference but it certainly can’t be doing any harm! 👍🎣
Thanks Chris, I'll give it a try.
Another good session bud 👍 what app do you use for the forecast?
Cheers Chris, windy is my go to app 👍🎣
