The Trawlers have been hammering the Prawns of the NE coast recently, look at the gut on that first Cod, full of Prawn ?

Some really nice fish there Chris thanks for sharing
Steve
Thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed it mate 👍🎣
Another great video. I was one of those who asked for the rundown of your safety equipment as I am just starting out Kayak fishing. Really appreciate you sharing the information. It's easy to believe we're ok, but the sea can easily turn on you, so having the safety equipment is paramount in my view. Some lovely fish there too, nice chunky codling. Can't wait to get stuck in. I spend all day on a computer so getting out and enjoying the scenery and tranquillity is something I really look forward too. Enjoy your fishing and thanks again.
Thanks Lee, I’m glad you enjoyed it mate. Hopefully it’s a good omen for the year ahead. We are due an unsettled spell soon though so fingers crossed it’s not too bad 🤞🎣
What a great Sunday, watching you catch fish,I knew you itching to get out , many more to come Chris..tight lines mate
Thanks John, great to be out and the weather was great as well. Happy days 👍🎣
Brilliant video mate very enjoyable I need to get a trip planned for a proper bit of sea fishing
Thanks mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it 👍🎣
Yes mate 👏 🙌 was wondering when u going upload video 📹 👍
Hopefully we'll get a good run of settled weather now, tight lines 👍🎣
Nice one again Chris, really welcome the safety info. It's always good to remind us all about the safety aspects of kayak fishing. Never know when you're going to need it, too late if you don't have it.
Keep up the good work mate! Rob.
Thanks Rob, I’m glad you found it useful mate. Here’s to many more fish filled trips in 2023 👍🎣
Cracking video mate. Always wanted to try kayak fishing. Only ever fished the tyne or south Shields. Subscribed and I'll be following your journey. All the best mate. Alex

I've been waiting patiently for this 😁 cracking first video of the year Chris 👍 cracking session and a good stamp of codling 🎣 very well done sir 🎣🎣
Glad you enjoyed it mate, just great to be out again! Lovely mild day as well 👍🎣
Superb 1st, trip out Chris and resulted in some lovely codling, like you say, especially this early in February. Good info on the saftey gear, buy quality or buy twice. I noticed by the end of your video how calm the sea got. Great Sunday evening viewing. Cheers pal, Arthur.
Yeah it was really mild Arthur, the water was crystal clear as well. Hopefully a good omen for the year ahead! Tight lines mate 👍🎣
👏👏👍👍
🎣🎣🎣
What a start to 2023 Chris, nice stamp of fish for the time of year....looking forward to your next trip to Scotland I think you said? Take care and well done!
Thanks Andy, hopefully get over to the west coast soon, weather and work depending! 🤞🎣
Great vid! You've inspired me to get out in the colder weather, do you have any rundowns on the drysuit you are using? Keep it up.
Hi mate I’m glad you enjoyed it, the drysuit is a Typhoon PS330 Extreme, loads of people use them on the kayak. Very comfortable and easy to get on and off. Relief zip as well which is essential at my age! 🤣
Another great video i see you using the motor in the stuguron fx looks a brilliant bit of kit
Cheers mate, the motors been great so far 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing are they available for sale?
@@nickwaters1142 I don’t think so just yet Nick but I imagine it won’t be too long 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing ok great, thanks
Hi Chris,
Where do you get the spray from that you use on the lures?
Hi David, I get them from GoOutdoors myself but you can get them in loads of other places as well 👍🎣
Brilliant once again ...! Thanks 👍 great safety information I thank you for taking the time to explain all the basics 👍 Do you have a or need a license to use the FM radio... Many thanks and Tight Lines 🎣👀👍
Hi Mate you don't need the short course license if you only use it for emergencies, if you wan't to call up other kayakers and boats etc you will legally need that license though. You do however need the free of com license whatever you do. You can get that online it only takes a minute or two 👍🎣
Thanks for the update Tight Lines 🎣👀👍
Do you need a licence to operate the VHF? I had a boat at Newbiggin in the eighties and you were supposed to sit a test at South Shields college to enable you to use a VHF. Great video as always, especially considering the time of year!
Kev Whitley Bay
Hi Kev, not if you only use it in emergencies, but if you wan't to call up other kayakers and boats etc you legally have to have the short course license (that's the paid one). You do however still need the free off-com license in all cases, you get that one on line and it only takes a couple of minutes. Aye it was a canny day for February, mild as well! 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing Thanks for the quick reply. How times change ! I didn't know you had lost your rods at Whitley! I must have missed that vid! Could have been worse I suppose! Take care 👏👏
@@kevintodd6150 yeah second trip out with them 🤣🎣
yes, places do special one day courses.
Great fishing. Does the tractor launch still operate from Beadnell?
Hi mate, I definitely does in the summer and I think it does at the weekends all year round though I couldn’t be sure 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing thanks for replying. I emailed them but got no response. 👍
Hi ya. Really chuffed i found your channel. How much did ya kayak cost ?.
Thanks very much I'm glad you're enjoying it, the Sturgeon FX is £1199.00 at the mo but if you use the channel discount code "OTD5" you'll get a fair few quid off 😊🎣
Hi
Is that an immersion suit your wearing and does it keep you afloat
Love what your doing
Seán
Hi Seán mate, it’s a drysuit. A Typhoon PS330 Extreme. I’m also wearing a pfd. Not a cheap set up but it might well save my life one day. I’m glad you’re enjoying the content! Tight lines 👍🎣
Nice session , how do you add that tackle box on the kayak very interested I would like to do the same I have a supernova fx
It’s on the rail on a railblaza mount. I got some male parts of the mount from eBay and attached one to the bottom of the box which in turn sits in a railblaza port on the rail. It’s just a cheap box from BnM 👍🎣
Hi Chris what amp hour battery would think would be best for this motor I understand your using a 100 amp hour is that a bit over kill or would say better to be safe I don't want to get stuck out there and have a long paddle back !!!😒😬
Hi mate, I like the idea of “never running out” lol. I can get two trips out of the 100ah lithium but haven’t had any extra long sessions with this motor yet. I reckon you could get away with a 60ah liFePo4 lithium if you don’t go miles to your mark and move a lot. I wouldn’t consider any lead acid.
@@onthedropfishing Cheers Chris thanks for your input kind regards Harry.
Hi Chris , nice video I really liked it
I'm about to buy a kayak and start doing kayak fishing in UK Seas can you help with information if I need licence or is free
Thanks
Hi mate , I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. No you don’t need a license to fish in the sea. If you buy a Galaxy Kayak use the code OTD5 and that will save you 5%. Any questions just shout. Tight lines matey 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing thanks a lot for your help , I really appreciate it 🙏
Did you do your radio course mate as I'm very new to boating I heard if you haven't done your radio course you will get fine is this true if u call the Coast Guard ?
You're fine if it's an emergency call but if you use it to call other kayaker or boats etc you legally need the short course license which you have to pay for. In all cases though you need the free offcom license which you can get online in a couple of minutes. Hope that helps 👍🎣
Dry suit all the way ....Better safe than sorry .
Certainly in February anyway! 😂🎣
What type of kayak is it
In this vid I’m on my Galaxy sturgeon fx 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing cheers looks a sturdy set up
