    I am looking at getting one of these, will probably go for the Windsafe 2000, but the tower for it is horrific in price. Could you make a tower if needed? What foundation did you put in for the i1500? Is there a reason that you kept yours so low? The turbulence - especially in high winds - may have been a factor in it failing?

      Hello Tom, yes absolutely you can build your own mast, the most common seems to be the gin pole type. We kept ours to 6m high as we are already elevated on an exposed hill side (400m) the foundation is 1m x 1.5m x 0.5m with rebar driven another 0.5m below the foundation. You can choose 3 or 5 blades to suit you conditions, 5 work better than 3 at lower heights but the trade off is a reduced top speed. Highly recommend replacing the slip ring for a heavier duty one before putting your turbine into service as the slip ring is a known weakness accross the bigger istabreeze models.

    yep i am counting on a 3 bladed 1500 , 24v to keep my batteries topped up during winter , along with a older 12v 400w unit , and if all else fails my old millitary gennerator must do the work

    Could you recommend the best turbine kit (including rectifier and charge controller) to hook up to a 48v eg4 battery bank with a solar charge controller and inverter already connected to the bank?

    just one question: why 5-blade one? is the 3-blade not performing well in low winds or what is the reason?

      5 blade performs better at lower windspeeds however the trade off is that maximum rotation speed is reduced compared to a 3 blade setup.

    After this time can you answer if it was worth investing in this model of turbine? Is it true that it needs higher wind speed though?

      Hello, yes it seems to have been a good investment as it compliments the solar system well and ensures power generation in varied conditions. The technical specs regarding windspeed requirements is featured in the video.

    Myself and the fiance were looking at one of these to power a mobile home over in Connemara, would you still recommend istabreeze for a wind turbine? These are the only brand I see on youtube that seem to work to anyway halfway decent degree without costing thousands of euros.

      Hello, yes i would still recommend an Istabreeze but on the understanding that the slip ring should be upgraded before use to prevent failure at high current levels. They do perform very well compared to some of the other options on the market but are not a perfect product. Hope that is of some use.

    Sometimes these manufacturers offer different voltage setups ignoring that the torque might be completely inadequate using the same generator.

    *All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity! And only at very high costs!*
    Because there is hardly any wind close to the ground. It is also extremely gusty, which usually shortens the service life.
    Only if you need to be self-sufficient from the power grid, you should have the largest possible wind turbine for the winter on a high mast.
    *With solar modules, on the other hand, you can reliably generate green electricity for 25 years at approx. 3-10 cent/kWh!*

    You have used the green/yellow cable to transport a phase from your turbine which is absolutely forbidden, green/yellow is for earth connection. You have 3P+N cables for that purpose.

    Yeah sure. The readings are accurate😂 According to the manufacturer power curve, with 6m/s wind speed, it should generate 300W. The reality is that at that wind speed, it does not even start rotating. It needs 7 or 8 m/s to start rotating and 9 to 10m/s to generate just a little bit of power. It only works in hurricane wind conditions. Extremelly inefficient blades. I would never buy an ista breeze again. Do not believe everything you see in video

      ​@@ourkilkennyhomestead2006Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you. I'm just disappointed with my ista breeze. It produces almost nothing. I have contacted the ista breeze after-sales technical service and they refuse to help me. They say it's my fault, because I've done something wrong. For God's sake, I know how to size cables, batteries, etc. because that is my job. I blame the wind turbine blades, they are very thin, they don't have enough surface area to catch the wind, and what's worse, they are very soft and bend in the wind. And I have the carbon ones, which are supposedly more rigid.
