The Bass Gang is pretty amazing. Jolly Sailor Bold is fabulous - creepiest sea shanty video ever. They also did a cover of Hooked on a Feeling with Tim Foust. They met on the Internet and did their first two EPs from 4 different sites without ever meeting in person. Last summer Peter, Bobby and Tomi all got together in the Czech Republic where Tomi lives to finally meet and record 4 Disney songs. Unfortunately, Marwan couldn't get an exit visa from Egypt, but the still managed to get him into the videos. They are all very good. This song was arranged by Peter Barber, the first soloist. He's a professional opera singer, arranger and producer. They all arrange for the group. I believe the Marwan, the guy with the braids, did the video - once again combining five separate sets of video. Amazing stuff. And they each have their own solo work on their own channels. Peter just did his own walkthrough of this video explaining how it came together. Worth a look.
In order of main solos, the guys are: Peter Barber- arranger of this piece, has a reaction channel, is a operatic bass Bobby “Bass” Waters - participates in other singing groups as a bass Tomi P - from Czech Republic, arguably has one of the widest ranges of any professional bass on the planet Marwan Ayman - from Egypt, still a teenager 😳 and editor for this video They produce all of their music virtually because they are scattered around the world, but 3 of them recently met up to shoot music videos for their 3rd album (Marwan couldn’t make it, but they still incorporated him). They do not stick to a completely acapella label, so you will hear drums or electronics in some of their covers. You can usually tell if it has “Acapella” in the title. I highly recommend their cover of Mad World or Jolly Sailor Bold to get a better sense of their individual voices. 4 amazing bass singers who do collab with others, some of their ones with female collaborators sounds spectacular as you have 4 bassists with just a gorgeous female voice floating over them. (Iris featuring Malinda and hide and seek featuring Lauren Paley are both amazing, one incredibly sweet one prettty creepy!) Each of the 4 of them do their own projects on the side, Peter Barber is an opera singer, as well as a fellow youtube reactor and has done some really cool solo stuff, i recommend his cover of enemy. Bobby Bass is one of the major sea shanty guys out there, they did a collab of both his groups (Santiana, with the Wellermen, bass gang and Piper Ally), Marwan (the guy who sounded like a digeridoo) does some extremely complex arrangements, he did this is halloween in 30 style acapella last year which is worth checking out, and finally we have Tomi P who is in another group (Shot-C) and did a song for project acapellion with Casper Fox (Which i believe isn't continuing but its whatever it takes by imagine dragons) For Tomi P please check out Hellfire (From the hunchback of Notre Dam) stepping away from acapella but if you haven't ever checked out Heilung I recommend listening to their Anoana, Ekaterina reminds me of their lead singer Maria with some of those high pitch wails
