  • The fascinating story of Great Britain's victory in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, their first gold medal in this event since 1908. The narrator delves into the history of the event, highlighting the dominance of other swimming powerhouses such as the USA, Japan, and Australia. The video also discusses a research paper that claims to predict the winner of this relay with 100% accuracy using machine learning techniques. The British team's success is attributed to their steady improvement in recent years, the host nation effect during the 2012 London Olympics, and the powerful motivating effect of being part of a team. The video concludes by emphasizing the importance of surrounding oneself with faster swimmers and the role of the clutch mentality in achieving success in the pool.

I don't have their algorithm but we would have to wait until everybody swims their Olympic trials. Great Britain is looking very strong again.
