That 2021 200m Olympic final was the women's version of The Swim Race of the Century. Ledecky, Haughey, Titmus, Pellegrini, Oleksiak, Yang - an incredible field. Good thing Emma McKeon decided to sit that one out - they would've needed a ninth lane.
What a role call of 21st century women's swimming is represented in this video. Pellegrini, Ledecky, Titmus, Franklin, Hoff, Hosszu, Potec, Manaudou, Adlington, McKeon, Sjostrom, Oleksiak, Haughey, Coventry, Leisel Jones, Cate Campbell. Any one of them would be worthy of a video like this, examining their careers.
Pellegrini is/was a legend. She was still in the Olympic 200m final in 2021. Her anchor leg in the European Championships 4 x 200m, I think it was 2016, was phenomenal.
2014 Berlin for me, I’m Italian was one of the best moment with my dad. I remember every second, we watched the tv from too close and screamed and at the end we laughed and hugged each other. I think that this is the real message of the sport, give emotions

I like your work with the history aspect of swimming, but this video editing was exaggerated in visual effects. That "pixelization" doesn't work well with seeing swimmers from afar.
Keep uploading such amazing videos... What efforts you have taken while making this video is really commendable! Do u think that a person older than 20 years can start competitive swimming again? Please please please reply… Love from India🇮🇳
Thank you! Great video… her career is really different from others like Ledecky or Phelps… she looks more human because she also loses but has the strength to come back and win! Just one question… what does the last sentence mean? “Your effort helps suffering”?
I watched the video, hence I could ask about the sentence. But I don’t see any explanation about it. That sentence is just mentioned at the end of the video. Hence I asked the meaning of that sentence since I am interested. If you understood can you simply share your interpretation of it. I love all his videos, so I am not criticizing. I just cannot grab the meaning of a “effort that helps suffering”.
@@haleyguthrie3113 for sure I do not want to deny all the struggles that every champion did in their lives. However, we do not really know their lives. Phelps, struggled a lot for sure, but in races he basically always won, when he did not win he got second. That is why he is considered, correctly, the best swimmer of all times. I do not want to say that these achievements come without any struggle. However, Federica really failed in important events (as the video shows), but managed to rose again like a phenix. This is the meaning I tried to write in my comment 🙂
great champ and widely respected by her peers, proof of that in her nomination into the IOC Committee. but a glitch in the thumbnail of this vid shows she has 6 fingers, funny but maybe change it :)
to be honest, the real miracle is Camelia Potesc's from Romania winning gold in any opimpic competition ... with the poverty and poor infrastructure from Romania reagarding swimming ... i think the whole country has only 2 olimpic swimming pools ...
You wrote “tokio” in the graphic at the start of the video. It’s spelled *Tokyo. Love your videos. Been waiting for you to breakdown the olympic swims.
Apparently she did no more than sending her fiancé at the time many SMSs, Manadou didn't trust that he and her were only friend, and dumped him Maybe, and probably, she was right, but you cannot blame that completely on Pellegrini, when you're with someone, they have the responsibility to not let another person get in the way
@@swisscloud4309 she shared some nudes photoes of Laure Manaudou with her ex Luca Marin , to destroy her career . I don't have respect for Federica Pellegrini for this . She's not a good competitive , she play nasty

Great video thanks. But the editing was terrible to watch. It's difficult to watch something that has constant masks over the footage. Sorry guys but it was as if a first year film student did the editing.
She continue after being defeated for much more simple reasons: because in Italy she became a sort of caracter and in all the years before olympic games She has, sponsor payng, television clapping hands and gossip magazines talking about her actual and next love story.... life like that is quite easy while you are acting as a swimmer ( even knowing by yourself not being so)
This channel deserves more recognition, it's a gem!

This was great. Such an inspiration and demonstration of hard work!
Another great Italian! Love to watch her swim such an inspiration
Thank you so much for this. Wish I had followed her journey closely. I teared up watching this.
I am learning so much from these videos. Thanks so much.
She was also the best swimmer of Rome 2009 with Phelps
Such as inspiration for all upcoming swimmers
Federica pellegrini from Italy
l love your style of telling information about the swimmer as a story of timeline, thankx dud.

There is a chance this is how to get around demonetization issues....
Yep it's probably to avoid copyright strikes
They said the OIC was keeping the money from their videos even if they used only a second, so they have to edit them as much as possible.
As so many other people have mentioned already, sport events, especially the Olympics are very strict with using their content.
Another great video!!! Thank you!
Federica Pellegrini is a successful example to dedicate to hard work for to win in swimming sport
