BEST and I Mean BEST tutorial around WB Ri...very thorough and in depth....and slow paced...well done and keep the boiler videos coming 2020 and beyond...
These boiler review videos are absolutely amazing. As a trainee, I find these very useful and no doubt it will help me in the near future. This youtube channel is addictive. I’m not even joking! Thanks very much Derek. Asian Jon. Training.
Brilliant video .Nicely explained.I am a retired gas engineer.Enjoy watching your videos. If installed correctly these boilers are normally trouble free.Like all gas appliances needs a service once a year.
Brilliant explanation Derek, my neighbour is low on budget an has the same model and the main burners leaks at the top thinking of replacing for the refurbished one, what your thoughts. Thank you Tom
Firstly, thanks for the excellent videos 👍 Hi, I have a greenstar 30i Worcester boiler problem. I don’t know what it is!! Every time I ran my hot water taps and then stop the hot water tap, The boiler make 4/5 nocking sound after the fan stops running ? Would you please tell me what possibly making this mocking noise?
Went to one tonight.. slow flash blue light and flashing reset 🙈 changed the electrodes as they were dead but only sparks for a second and goes off.. old blue transformer on PCB.. any ideas? 🙈
Wow thought I knew these inside out done loads and never realised the white peg was even there always just altered with a screwdriver every day is a school day. Thanks.
I live in the West Highlands where Gas Safe engineers are very very hard to find. I thought about servicing my Ri myself because it's producing a horrible smell from condensation pipe. I think I'll keep searching for a GSafe Engineer....👍
maxmerton sorry about the music I don’t use music now because of the complaints for some reason when it was uploaded the music increased. I have been meaning to upload a version with no music but just not got around to it. Once again sorry for spoiling it for you
My boiler is working but my radiators aren't getting hot, ive bleeded the radiators but still not working, where is the water pressure gauge to check that?
ive got the same problem ..did u manage to get it sorted and if so wot was the problem ..iam not a bioler engineer but i dont think it has a gauge for the water pressure
If I had a £1 for every time a customer said to me "nobody has ever done that before " referring to the burner and baffle removal and refitting when I service a boiler when it clearly shows the procedure on the front of the heat exchanger or in the MI . Too many con artists or poor engineers out there who do not know what they are doing. I have so many customers who I have gained asking what the flue gas analyser is " no one has done that ever" Frustrating to say the least
As such an important thing as stripping down a gas boiler why do you find the music so important as it overrides your voice in places ,repetitive rubbish music that nobody wants to hear,,other than that I appreciate your making this video, thanks,,,,
I stopped using the music over a year ago as it was always supposed to be low in the background but RUclips kept turning the music up when I uploaded it. Sorry it spoiled your enjoyment but I just don’t use it anymore cheers
Thanks for your reply ,I’m not a plumber ,just looking to see what is involved in a service on this model of boiler before getting someone in to service it, or even have it ripped out and replace with a combination boiler it’s only 2 years old I can not understand why the last owner put this whole system in when all that is required a straight combination boiler running of the mains instead of 2 cold water tanks and a 3ed tank for hot water plus a shower pump,,,,,more like a money making exercise,,that’s why I watch you tube,,,,,thanks again Mike,,,
Not impressed with these boilers. Had a new one fitted and the fan broke with virtually no usage at all. Worcester have got to come out to fix it as it under warranty. If id known id have bought a glow worm instead.
Daniel A nothing mate I did it to show guys like you so you can make your mind up about a boiler you have probably never see or fitted. The boiler is probably better than your spelling though. Thanks for your comment and watching cheers
Open any new boiler they are all the same and yes you will be shocked at the level of parts that look like they should be no where near heat But they work for a short time 10 - 15 years if you are lucky - Just a point about Worcester I asked every engineer who came in my house what would you have in your house 90% of them said Worcester only time will tell They do need a new paint inspector and I will be writing to them about the finish on the boiler if you know the term "orange peel " then this strongly applies to my new Worcester 30 RI compact shocking paint job / powder coating
ive got this exact boiler and its 10 year old -its just very recently had a new fan because it was noisy (but still working-plus in hind sight i could of just strengthened the orange rubber mounts as they had just got saggy ) whilst in there obvs did the burner seal and replaced theigniter cost was £90 and a doddle to fit these parts- so if it goes another 10 years thats good going in my book 10/10 boiler imo
I know what's in a Worcester boiler, way too much crammed into too small a space, nightmare to work on. Give me a viessmann, Baxi or Vaillant any day of the week.
Am in awe of your knowledge, sir. Hope you are well paid for what you do. You deserve to be. Much respect.
A simple straight forward demonstration, clear, and illustrative. No nonsense approach. thouroughly enjoyed. Well put together.

Lets be honest he Smashes the most of the other guides and trainers on RUclips.
Bravo for breaking baffle seal with your improvised three-tie cable! A little white peg but with a big job to do in the boiler. Love it!
Thank you for making us understand how the whole thing works...
An interesting video full of very good information, explained in a most competent manner. Thanks Derek.
Love your intelligent solution to removing parts without the proper tool. You are like Mcgyver from 1980s TV show.🥰
127cmore more like John Noaks of blue peter 😜
@@tomkatgastraining Ha, ha . Wheres Shep ?🥰✌😾
Thank you for sharing Del, wonderful show.
I just did a service on one of these for my portfolio for college. I need to do a stage by stage write up so watching this helped massively 👍🏼

Brilliantly explained... Thanks for your help and time.
Very thorough, enjoyable, thanks I was looking for ignition lead test......I'll keep trawling
Brilliant explanation Derek, my neighbour is low on budget an has the same model and the main burners leaks at the top thinking of replacing for the refurbished one, what your thoughts.

Great video. Backing music volume level needs to be lower. As always, excellent info and clearly explained.

fast flashing blue light code.

Excellent vid, do you have any vid dismantling the Greenstars please? :)
Another great video👍👍👍
brilliant. great to indepth training on gas appliances, allways something new to learn or do smarter...
Is it possible to fit a timer that controls hot water and heating separately?
So that hot water and heating can be operated individually?
Thanks!
To comply with regulations you require a timer that separates heating and water so yes you can 👍🏻
@gastraining
Thank you
So presumably, the AB Accredited installer will fit such a timer without me having to ask for it?!
Firstly, thanks for the excellent videos 👍

I have Baxi Solo 2 which has a flue to the side - which boiler would you recommend as a cupboard sized boiler with flue to the side?
I would like to know more about the zero governor how it works.
Went to one tonight.. slow flash blue light and flashing reset 🙈 changed the electrodes as they were dead but only sparks for a second and goes off.. old blue transformer on PCB.. any ideas? 🙈

Thanks great video 🙏
I think we should all appreciate the free training.
Hello Derek. Can I ask what tool you are using for adjusting the ratio?
It was given to me by Worcester on a training day

Nice vid, very informative !!! Please turn the garbage music down
Am I the only one who’s driven mad by the constant LOUD jingly jangly music?! 😥
maxmerton sorry about the music I don’t use music now because of the complaints for some reason when it was uploaded the music increased. I have been meaning to upload a version with no music but just not got around to it. Once again sorry for spoiling it for you
Tomkat Gas Training Many thanks for your magnanimous apology. I look forward to watching the non-musical edition 😊

Tomkat Gas Training cheers bud. Will do. Another part of the boiler I need to get my head around 🙄
Tomkat Gas Training do you mean the “back boiler” one?
Simon Stones no not the back boiler the combi boiler if you go onto the channel you will find it
Simon ruclips.net/p/PLwevcxEMVYsHumuhittxXszNFoGvksPCY this is the link for all my boilers 👍🏻
Music too loud, difficult to hear you.

Why do you have such loud music during your videos, it’s very distracting
A Neodymium magnet would remove the steel baffle
Chris Taylor
The music is annoying....why?
1ionman don’t use music now because had a few asking like you. Thanks for watching cheers
Where’s the pump?
Simon Stones it’s not a combination or system boiler it’s a heat only
Tomkat Gas Training so literally works off gravity to the cylinder?
Simon Stones pump is external
Daniel Woods got ya....
Those flue screws are hex heads so the back ones not difficult to get to at all -lazy plumbers lol
Too much music ...otherwise best video
Excellent demo but very annoying background music 🎧
great educational video, but please, lose the music !
Do you need to drain boiler before cleaning heat ex?
Music is soo annoying
not loving the music
Please turn the dam music off , we just wanna hear you lol , good video btw
Great guide but I would prefer without the music.

Brilliant ,but I still hate the design of this boiler .
Background music is louder than the guy who talks !!!!
How much is Worcester paying this guy every gas engineer knows that's Worcester are full of plastic and aluminium absolutely terrible boier.
