4.05 To make it easy to unscrew the screw 13 on the back there is a little trick. The upper casing of the boiler consists of two parts. so you unscrew the two screws at the top and pull the plate off
Thanks mate, I discovered this afterwards thanks to everyone who commented to let me know 👍🏽 these small bits of information can really help each other out
Thanks bud, looking to do the same to my cdi42 boiler.. we can't use the DHW as it goes over temp every time..so will do both the burner and the DHW exchanger 👍
Hi mate good videos you have. Very informative. I have a problem with my worcester boiler. The EA message appears on the screen and the boiler stops working. I’ve figured out something that the boiler works fine on central heating and the flame goes on and runs good. When I put the hot water on it switches in EA mode, so after some messing about I realised the boiler will on stop on hot water when the actual outer casing is put back on. When I take it off or leave it loose it seems to be ok. It’s got something to do with the outer casing and hot water only. If you can help will be much appreciated. Cheers
Hi mate, it sounds like you've got an issue with the air intake if it's staying on with the case off. It means it's getting its fresh air from the room instead of through the flue. You'll need someone to inspect the flue
Nice strip and clean cusie have u seen the fan pop due to moisture? when servicing ? I was lucky enough to be audited when it happened in front of this guy . He claimed Worcester know of this but don't acknowledge the fact
I've had it happen to me once mate. I always let the customer know of this issue before starting as it's a big expense if it happens! A good method is to warm the fan up a bit with a hairdryer before putting the power on to dry off any excess moisture
Thanks for you reply. Is that where the black hose connects to the condensate pipe. I had a call yesterday to re charge the expansion vessel but i struggled to drain the boiler. I downloaded the boiler pdf but it only stated there is an internal drain point. I’m going back next week to service the boiler so I’ll have another go at draining the boiler
Another good one CP. Well explained as usual. Do you need to do a negative fan pressure check on these to determine whether they need to be stripped down and cleaned ? Or do do you strip and clean regardless ?.
Yes mate, just under the fan you'll find the -ve pressure test point cap. Good practice to do a full strip clean even if it passed FGA and fan pressure checks, it's all about preventative maintenance, not reactive!
Had one today did a full strip down like you have just showd 30 cdi had a fan pressure of 4;70 on high rate then after a few seconds i could hear the fan slow slightly and the fan pressure droped to 3:80 never had this before could it be the fan on its way out regards Lee
Great vids as always mate, quick question as a newly qualified engineer I’m servicing friends and family’s boilers for the next few months just trying to get more experience . Where is the best place to source spare parts in London / south east London ? would you typically order them in then return to the job ? Invest in a range of supplies Would be good to get some feedback it’s hard graft starting out
Find a local boiler spares and build a relationship with them. I get my bits from Essex Boiler Spares. But you can look at online merchants too. I keep a variety of van stock to get first time fixes but you'll learn what to carry as you go out on your own and finally which common parts you're replacing
@@cputilitysolutions what would help is say a bit of drain down hose to hold the silver bit up with the nut so you have two hands to get it back in my mate takes all the fan out todo it
Thanks mate. The compressor is great! Especially with a 5ah battery I rarely need to charge it. Only thing I'd say it's bigger than the other brand ones so can be a bit bulky, but where I'm DeWalt with everything else it made sense to get it

the easiest and less time consuming way is to purchase a baxi. takes 2 mins to gain entry inside the burner. worcester like to make it as difficult as possible.i have no idea why people think worcesters are the best. they take twice as long to service and cost nearly twice as much to purchase.the o ring seals fail just as much as any other boiler, and they arnt any more efficient as any other band A boiler. complete waste of money in my opion.that opinion has been collected with over 35 years of fitting boilers@@karenmatthews9522
Literally the only useful video on RUclips on these boilers.
Two screws on the top of the boiler, one on either side will release the top panel for access to the heat exchanger bud 👌🏼
Nice one thanks for the tip mate 👍🏽

Plates blocked on heating side mate
Glad I just seen this as I had one never serviced and I broke one of the blots taking it out as the wire was wrapped round the thread
Ah man that's frustrating!
I’ve got to do one of these tomorrow this videos a massive help, nice one chirag 👍
Brilliant Dave - hope it all goes ok mate!

Great video buddy, I don’t often work on Worcesters so this will help me in the future if I come across them 👍🏻
Great Video. Thanks for posting👍
Thanks 👍🏾
Wouldn't it have been better to take the top one off first mate. Saves the bits you flush getting stuck in the lower part you just cleaned?
Yes potentially could do it that way too 👍🏽
What are the 26_9 checks? Can you show them?

Thank you, the boiler has a drain off point below the pump 👍🏾

Great video and very informative, I wanted to ask where did you get your training from? Did you use to work for British gas?
Nope never worked for BG, was with a social housing maintenance firm and now self employed
