You deserve a gold medal my friend. Such patience , i would be in an asylum by now , being in your shoes. A HUGE BRAVO. You're doing a fantastic job. You're the greatest. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Well done to you guys. You both deserve medals (including your beautiful daughters). What a brave couple you are. The rewards are never ending (once you home is complete). Such a beautiful place to live. Peaceful and certainly away from the rat race of life.
Bradey, Heather, your home is getting there, that's the type of toilet I want, I can clean under it, you don't have a leaking tank. Thank goodness your helper knew how to install it. God bless your helper and Family, God bless you Bradey, Heather Alexa, Chloe, God bless your Family's
Suspended toilets are very much "a thing" in France where we live. You may want to allow for a access space in the wall you are building around it, not a crawl space but say an unscrewable panel that allows access to the inner workings (and the soil pipe connection as we have had to disconnect and reconnect ours multiple times due to issues). Better to build one in your plans than to have to cut one in later (ask me how I know 😂). Loving your work - we chose France over Spain to live because the building requirements in Italy are horrendous as you're finding out! France is much more chilled about anything on the inside and for most things on the exterior you just need permission from your town hall which we got in a couple of weeks when we needed it. You are very brave tackling Italian bureaucracy but your attitude and enthusiasm is peerless. You've absolutely got this!! 💪💪👍
What a beautiful job you are doing. Paying attention to every detail, as you do, makes all the difference. When we did some renovations about ten yeas ago we put in a “wall” toilet like the one you are installing. I was readily available at our local plumbing store here in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The design does make it easy to clean around, the non-bulky look and the dual flush (available on many types of toilets) helps conserve water and makes this style an overall good choice. Good luck with the rest of the renovation. I look forward to your final reveal and it has been such fun following you and your family’s activities each week. Then each of you will be able to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds from those special windows or your deck or garden in a restful manner.
With GEBERIT you bought Swiss technology since 1874. Its good you show your viewers, especially the US, a high quality product. If your plumber makes a perfect installation you’ll never have a problem. I recommend that you pre-connect a rinsable water filter. Then you never have to clean the cisterns and the taps. Also ask your plumber how hard the water is in your area. If it is very calcareous, he also knows advice.
I’m glad you’re excited about the new windows. Everything happens for a reason and yes I too prefer the wide angle for the type of filming you do. Nice to see so much progress this week.
Aww thank you so much for sharing this beautiful family journey with us I can’t wait to see how everything turns out after it’s done and you guys are so amazing together keep up the good work
❤❤❤Love your channel. Enjoyed the clips of your girls helping to build your mobile home years ago. Such a sweet family. Your new home is marvelous!!!❤❤❤
Good day! You can make the wall behind the toilet as thick as you want for candles etc. You will just need a extension in between the actual box and toilet. Good job you guys are doing!
Yes absolutely true. And it's possible to make a small low cupboard in that false wall to store toilet rolls and chemicals etc. close but out of sight.
Wow Brady, is like your work just never ends. And such difficult terrain too. It seems each new phase has new obstacles. Can't wait for you guys to get to the final stage 🎉🎉🎉
Que entrega, paciencia y dedicación tienes a los detalles, al final estarás tan orgulloso de ver tu obra maestra!! Y nosotros estaremos ahi hasta el final celebrando con ustedes por alcanzar su maximo sueño. Bravoo!!!
I watch a couple in Florida who have been installing that same brand of toilets in mobile home and home remodels. I love how they function and they seem so nice for keeping everything clean around the toilets. Great job remodeling.
I have those floating toilets in my apartment, which i bought a few years ago in Jamaica. I was in awe - they really look neat and novel. I'm glad to see it featured in your video because I've always wondered what the whole mechanism, hidden behind the wall, looks like and how one access the tank to service it. Finally you've cleared up the mystery. It's almost 5 years and no problems with it.
I enjoy watching everything…….. how Bradey problem solves, manoeuvres around obstacles and gets things done with his amazing work ethic, how Heather supports him, her cheerfulness and willingness to try anything. We do see less of the girls but they are in full time school now and have probably joined clubs, activities and have play dates.
We install a tankless floating toilet in our Nova scotia home in 2019 and we love how much space it saves in our bathroom. We followed the instruction and it was fairly easy to install.
Floating toilets are pretty standard in western Europe these days for new bathrooms. We’ve had ours nearly 20 years now and there’s never been a problem with it. You made a good decision to go with a quality German firm like Geberit. The internal mechanisms are basically designed to last for the lifetime of the average tiled bathroom.
19:06; warm air meeting a porcelain tank filled with chilly water is what causes condensation to form on the outside of the toilet tank. mostly in the winter months but hey, some places have cold enough ground temps that water pipes keep chilled year round. just not where i am (oklahoma) i put a fish tank heater in the toilet tank during winter to offset this problem
Great videos guys! I hope that you can depend as much on your future contractors as you did for your rock wall builders. They were fantastic, as are both of you. Your new home is really coming together and as you both work so hard to build your new life in Italy. Have a wonderful week.
I cannot wait to see those window seats when they are finished. A perfect place to enjoy a gorgeous view. Another week well done. I really enjoy watching the progress of this amazing house. 😊
Suggestion: camera shot looking down the front, of the house, with all four looking out a different window, at the same time. Maybe a good Christmas card?
Solid spacers behind the upper anchors I would recommend. (toilet support) Hopefully the spacing from the side wall and sink vs. code requirements has been reviewed. Personally, I don't like to sit too close to a wall.
Me personally I'd go for the VelociRaptor truck. A lot more versatile for hauling and work. Cyber truck is more a Gee Whiz type of truck with a lot of limitations. Gotta say, the project is coming along wonderfully. You're going to have a fantastic home. I have seen that toilet arrangement before, on a garage refit that was putting a toilet in a small space for a 2nd floor man-cave. There are RUclips vids on the install.
🙏Aloha all, This family is so energetic et resourceful! Involving their two young ladies is touching et this family is a wonderful example of an apparently functional family unit! As a maternal child RN, this family is tops in parenting from what I've seen. Kudos mom et dad, keep up your exemplary parenting! Aloha🌺 PS Dad is so productive et a smart/hard worker! I am very impressed! Ditto on the KUDOS!🌺
i have experience with hung toilets make SURE the bolts holding the framework are Large enough and perfectly installed the cantilever effect will get you every time! good content
I am really enjoying your honest approach to sharing your story. You are really fortunate having such a vista, I am sure that it is good for the soul. I strongly recommend fitting the blade guard to your saw table, an accident would affect the whole family. I noticed one of the pieces of timber lifting off of the table when you were using the supplied push stick. There is a type of push stick that you can easily make (in 10 minutes) that is so much safer to use. It looks like a old fashioned handsaw but made from wood. It has an elongated notch at the front which allows you to control the wood. If you search "push stick" I am sure you will find it. Best wishes to you all.
Do not worry, the Geberit toilet water reservoir has been design to allow the critical components to be accessible from outside if repair is required. However be relax as this system is proven to be very reliable (never had a problem with any of them).
I hope there won't be any more issues🍀! Last week I thought you were very lucky to have both the plumber and the electrician scheduled 😅, knowing how often🤬 they disappear here in Italy. But always look on the bright side: no more Bat-Brady on the ceiling! Or Spider -Brady?😊
If you don’t have any, invest in a full set of Metric sockets!! Then with an adapter you can use them with your impact driver! You will appreciate it as soon as you use it!!
If you guys want a wider lip you can do so. You don't have to have it so close to the wall. I'm pretty sure you have put it too close to the wall to begin with since you need to account for your waste pipe which will be situated in that open space between the legs. All in all it's a great system.
Wish there was a way you could position a video camera that would slowly sweep from left to right and back again so we could enjoy the view from your home daily while we wait for your episodes on Sunday 😊👍👍
well what do you know....I looked up wall hung floating toilets and we do have them in the USA....at Home Depot no less!.....learning a lot from your house build!
Lisa not Bob , omg I stopped your video to talk to my husband about the toilet making a sound in the tank and we might need to replace the insides. Then I start the last part of your video and it is you installing the toilet. I’m in the US and how cool it would be to have a floating toilet. It has got to be so much cleaner.
Everything is serviceable through the flush plate in those geberit toilets. As long as you do a good leak test on the waste pipe before you close it then you'll never have to open the wall. In italy it's common to just encase them in cement.
Condensation. The tem of the water verses the air I have found can cause especially on humid days for condensation to run down the outside of the toilet onto the floor around the toilet base. Causes a mess.
Those wall hung toilets are available in the US, the narrow profile is new. I have installed those I my last three homes but they required a 2x6 inch thick wall.
Hidden tank option for 60 years! --- Geberit story dates back to 1874, when it started as a one-man operation in the old town of Rapperswil, Switzerland. Some 30 years later, company founder Albert Gebert developed a wooden cistern lined with lead. The company gained further momentum with the groundbreaking invention of the first plastic cistern in 1952, followed by the concealed cistern in 1964. -- I disassembled many of those cisterns lined with lead in about that time, because the lead had to go out of the water system - no Michigan...
I had a chuckle with the toilet issue😊. The flush bowl and pedestal is still readily available in my county, but most home renovations and new built homes have the Geberit toilets. (I am not talking Government Low Cost Housing, for homeless people, no prejudice at all) I renovated a house in 2004 and installed these toilets and built a house in 2008. All my loo's were GEBERIT. I would never have a different loo system ever.. I live in South Africa. Come on , the USA needs to get with it, a little. No offense intended.. 😊. Where are your beautiful girls, haven't seen them for ages😮. Keep going, you are doing a great job!! ❤
We have the floating ones as well, those that have the tank outside are very common as well. After years of having it, it had an issue... for which I had to dig into the wall. :) Since then I kinda like to have my house more engineer-minded and expose stuff instead of hiding.
So love this series and eagerly await the videos coming out every Sunday. Do you ever have time to watch Martjin Doolard's (hope I spelled that correctly) videos? He's a graphic designer by trade who biked across Europe and settled in Northern Italy near Turin. He, too, has renovated stone barns into livable spaces and is a very accomplished woodworker.. Very similar circumstances in that he does most of the work himself. Highly recommend it!! The electrician dissing you - so unprofessional.
Did you have any previous renovation or building experience before you started this amazing project? What is all the more impressive has been the way you have project managed the whole renovation yourselves in a new country along with so much of the back breaking work. Almost wish that the long running UK programme Grand Designs had been also able to chart your journey from start to finish.
There is a channel I watch called DIYfferent. The couple is located in Florida and he has installed a few of these toilets. Also, I would take the $100,000 cash.
I remember when I lived in Italy that come August the country was "on vacation!" lol. You couldn't get a plumber even if you needed one. Let's hope that just as you found a better window you will find better tradesmen and companies for those that closed up shop. You're building not just physical muscle but the spiritual muscles of virtues of great character - perseverance, fortitude, patience, determination etc. These will serve you well throughout your life. Heather, so wonderful to see you today! Great they have you to finish off the fine details!! Those are really important too! Love to you all💜💜 and best wishes also to your helper, Brady... always good to see them.
Great epispde again! It´s a sad and frightening situatin in Europe right now! A lot of firms are going bankrott bc of to high taxes, not enough workers and more!! So it is more than anoying to wait so long and then get canceled! But keep the good spirit up! You all are doing sooooo well! The progress is enormous!! Well done!
Be careful with that table saw. I still have tiny slivers of mahogany emerging in my nail after having injured it while putting in some wainscoting in 1987! Now that you have the table saw you can make an ongoing set of Lincoln Logs converting the cut offs that remain after the house is completed. That's what i want to do once i settle down and establish a relationship with area wordworkers so i can get hardwood and exotic woods to make up my custom set.
I am so sorry Brady that you are having such trouble, with plumbers and window companies, what a headache and stress you do not need. How ever I am sure it will come right as you say you have found a new window company. These trials and tribulations sure come with the package of building. Your home is coming on beautifully and when the build is complete and you move in it would be interesting to know from the time you purchased the property and till the end how much it costs you, would be very interesting. Have a lovely day.
How do the girls feel about sharing a bedroom?? Don’t they want their own space especially Alex who is nearly a teenager? Another great video! Well done Bradey! I personally would take the cash! As you know there are always bills to pay!!
getting electricians and plumbers to show up in the states is hard too. If they do show up, they tend to disappear for months and then you have to find another person.
I follow a family that lives in Florida and they have installed a couple of toilets just like that one, they go by the name of Diyfferent. They are do it yourselfers just like you guys. I would wait and install it after everything is in first though.
That toilet is going to be great. Wish we commonly used them here in homes. So much cleaner! Also just thinking (I have zero experience in Italy) perhaps the wonderful laid back vibe and slower pace of living that you moved there for is partially to blame for the trades people cancelling orders and not having much sense of urgency?
The integrated and floating toilet is an interesting one - because it says a few things about the US. Europe used to have US-style toilets, too. But they started disappearing bit by bit decades ago. While US has stagnated in this respect - except for really-rich-people-homes.The same applies for house windows, kitchen-appliances , house-insulation, heatings-systems, cars, airports, trains etc etc. A big tragedy how the US has "failed" ordinary people in the last 2 decades. Hopefully it will change again. The US has more than enough substance to do so.

FYI I'm an interior and building designer, and have specified the Geberit inwall cisterns for over 25 years. They really are the bees knees.
I don't think it's true. They'll just spam my e-mail.

I can assure you, the floating and hidden toilet is great! We don’t do it any other way around here anymore. You’ll love it. ❤
We have Geberit in our house and love it. Good Swiss quality and not on the ground placement is a game changer.
The European design for toilet & tank is so much more esthetically pleasing. Good choice.

Wow. Never seen a floating toilet before. Glad you have a table saw now, makes cutting wood faster. Great job.
German firm???
It's Swiss
My system was installed in 1989 and is still working flawlessly! The second bathroom also has it, installed in 2004, no problems whatsoever!
Congratulations on your new table saw! What a time saver. Sorry about your camera lens.
I’m very glad to see how the in wall toilet tank works. I had no idea and couldn’t imagine. I’m in America and I’d love that.
You definitely got your steps in that day. Love watching you guys
It's looking great. What a large job you've taken on. Amazing.
I been following you guys since the start, I admire your dedication and patience, when do you think you will finish the house,I can’t wait.
I admire your patience.. you are amazin.>

I cannot wait to see those window seats when they are finished. A perfect place to enjoy a gorgeous view. Another week well done. I really enjoy watching the progress of this amazing house. 😊
You are making a castle, I think it will look amazing, perfect choice, the place is wonderful.
Do not do any installations now, of bathrooms or similar. Wait until the floor is ready and all water supply and drains are in place.
Suggestion: camera shot looking down the front, of the house, with all four looking out a different window, at the same time. Maybe a good Christmas card?
I had a similar thought that that would make for a great family photo!
Ridge products sound great! I'd take the cash please. :) And I can picture all four of you at your windows!! Enjoying your journey! 💛
From Vancouver Island B.C.Canada.Very interesting video.Blessings to you all.Great job as usual all of you😃❤
Thrilled to see so much progress.
Snazzy table saw! It’s so satisfying to have the right tools you need to get the job done. Good luck!
Solid spacers behind the upper anchors I would recommend. (toilet support) Hopefully the spacing from the side wall and sink vs. code requirements has been reviewed. Personally, I don't like to sit too close to a wall.
Hang in there ,it will be ok
So sorry Brady. It happens. Life is not perfect. The window will be wonderful any time of year😊
It's great to see you just keeping on with the work on the house
I really like that wide angle lens!
Amazing job you are doing! Love watching your adventures ❤

Exactly, so much misinformation in these comments. There is no need for an access panel, he will never use it.

Mając taką ilość kamieni możesz sie zainspirować i zrobic samemu (na pewno dasz radę) duży co najmniej na dwie osoby kamienny prysznic z ławka, dyszami, podświetleniem i ogromną deszczownica który będzie się świetnie komponował z domem, ścianą a wannę możesz postawić dodatkowo nawet taka kupioną miejsca wystarczy. Juz widzę uśmiech żony na taką niespodziankę 🥰
Well done!
Maybe she is talking about the situation in the UK. But the EU is in a different situation.
Ya falta poco!
Ouch. I feel your pain on the broken lens! 😢
getting electricians and plumbers to show up in the states is hard too. If they do show up, they tend to disappear for months and then you have to find another person.
I follow a family that lives in Florida and they have installed a couple of toilets just like that one, they go by the name of Diyfferent. They are do it yourselfers just like you guys. I would wait and install it after everything is in first though.
So excited about the toilet 🚻. Lol 🎉andcwindow seats!❤
Can't wait to see the window seats completed.
INTERESTING CONCEPT ON THE TOILET!! Do take care.Fl., USA
