Fun Fact:Barbie was originally supposed to be Woody’s girlfriend, not Bo Peep. But Mattel wouldn’t let Pixar use the character because they thought the movie wouldn’t be successful. Boy did they end up eating their words.
Barbie would've been so cliche.
I like Bo Peep better.
@@intheflatfield2954True. I’m glad they included her in the other movies.
Yeah they would end up giving her major roles in 2 and especially 3
Its ok I like the Barbie and Ken thing in Toy Story 4 there so cute together 😂😂
@@BTSTXT8604 Me too
Woody voiced by Tom Hanks
Buzz voiced by Tim Allen
Rex voiced by Wallace Shawn
Mr Potato Head voiced by Don Rickles (RIP)
This leaves me wondering who is Pixar going to go get to voice Mrs. Potato Head in the 5th movie.
They’ll do what they did for Don Rickles and go through all the years they’ve recorded her dialogue for movies, shows, or video games.
Rip to Mr and Mrs. Potato Heads
Probably. I hope so
Don't forget about the legendary Jim Varney playing Slink. He was a big part of my childhood as Ernest P. Warrell. RIP Jim, you were a real one
Yup Randy Neuman is 80 years young and still alive!
Also Steve Harvey was tagged in so many memes with Mr potato head😂
Rest in peace

Don't forget Estelle Harris.
Yes quit alot from the first 2 movies have passed away now alot we're middle age/old to begin with during this movie I have to thank them alot for theyre work
Can you imagine the amount of therapy Sid had to go through to get over that? I don’t think he ever touched another toy after that. That scene at 39:43 is just the nail in the coffin from that whole performance and would be nightmare fuel.
At least he ended up having a happy life afterwards. Guess Woody taught him a lesson and he grew from it.
@@AvalynTheAccursed He's pretty happy as a garbage man in 3.
Randy Newman is actually still alive. He’s 80 years old now.
Yup let's hope he stays around for a while it will be sad when that day comes wish he would tour more id live to see him but I haven't seen him do alot of that in a lomg time
I didn't know that.
Yes lion king
One thing about Toy Story that always struck me was how vulnerable you are as a toy. You are subject to the whims of humans since you can’t do anything when they’re able to see you. Kid leaves you behind? Too bad. Kid decides to blow you up for fun? Too bad. Kid outgrows you and forgets about you? Too bad. You had friends and family among your toy community but your kid loses you, throws you away, sells or give you away? Too bad.
That was always what made me the saddest. These toys live their own lives and have friendships and families but they can be completely ripped away from each other in a single moment.
And that’s not even going into the love they have for their kid. Loss is inevitable for all of us, but being a toy means you have an expiration date with your kid. It’s sadly comparable to having a dog. They won’t be around forever, and the toys won’t be played with by their kids forever. When the kid comes of age and decides what to do with their toys, their life gets reset whether they want it or not.
These movies are so damn existential. 😂 and that’s why we all fell in love with a movie about child’s playthings, they had something very human to say.
No way is this actually your guy’s first time watching this legend???????
Well, there's still many iconic movies I haven't seen yet. For example, I've not seen Star Wars or Back to the Future
(Nvm just noticed Jason say he's seen it before a very long time ago. My point still stands though)
@@thepandorica1660You really need to bro
@@Ash1627and I probably will. There's just so many shows and movies to go through 😅
@@thepandorica1660If you’re young then you’ve got a long way of years to go through to do what you want
I wish they could have washed it with the iconic opening though
Man I forgot that Mr Potato Head is lowkey pretty hilarious in this film 😅. He's so jealous of Woody that he takes every opportunity to make him into the bad guy
Mr. Potato Head's personality in this movie always gave me the impression of him being the favorite before Woody showed up. He just managed to cope with being replaced better than Woody did when Buzz showed up.
Not to mention the fact that he seems to be the usual pick for bad guy during playtime.
When you watch Toy Story 2, watch the bloopers during the credits, they're worth it
for sure
Toy Story was actually the very first 3D animated feature length film! They chose a story about toys because early 3D animation looked plasticy. Plus, the joints of a toy are much more simple than a person- like how buzz has ball-joint arms and woody has simple fold-like joints:)
This movie is a very important part of my childhood. Not only did it set the standard for 3d animated film to come after, but it also became a favorite for not only me but for my family. My dad and I quote it frequently. It's one of the only animated films that my mom can actually enjoy. I still have my original Woody and Buzz from the 90s. I can't wait for you to watch the sequels.😊
Yeah, my too! I have watched all of the movies and shorts so many times.
It’s crazy how the animation still holds up because Toy Story is the first CGI animated movie ever
It has aged a tad in some parts but overall it does look very good still ive been told for those who originally saw this they felt as if the toys actually came to life I can inly imagine how that must have felt
I feel like the fact that the characters are toys helps with that immensely. If the movie focused entirely around human characters, then I don't believe people would feel the same about its animation holding up. But since it focuses on toys, it doesn't matter if certain things don't look quite right. You just attribute any oddities to the characters being toys, and move on.
@@gurvmlk yes it was easier to hide stuff in toys the. Human movements for characterization especially hair
100%
4:29 Slinky Dog was voiced by Jim Varney, AKA Ernest P. Warrell, he passed away in 2000 at age 50
Wait what? How did he passed away?
@@nasircarroll405 He had cancer 😔
Yes and Blake Clarke replaced him from TS3,4 and present it was sad for me learning that after I saw 3 not relazing it was someone else
15:03 woody’s laugh kills me 😂😂
You've got a friend in me. *YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME!!*
That part I laughed the hardest!
YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dying 😂
You’ve got a friend in me, you’ve got a friend in me. When the road looks rough ahead and you’re miles and miles from your nice warm bed. You just remember what your old pal said, for you’ve got a friend in me. Yeah, you’ve got a friend in me!
A timeless song from a timeless Pixar film!
Bro first minute in and yall MAKING ME FEEL OLD 😂😂😂😂 I remember the OG Rugrats VHS, the SOLID ORANGE color one 😂❤
The Pizza Planet truck has appeared in the majority of Pixar movies, challenge yourself to find them.
Toy story 1 and 2 are easy.
Finding Nemo, u blink, u miss it.
Toy Story 3, might be tricky.
A bugs life and monsters Inc have the same location, spoiler alert lol
Ratatouille: it's riding across a bridge during a rat and chef chase
Cars 1: in the crowd at the start of the final race of the three cars.
Brave: it's a wood carving.
There are more, but long to type.
Don’t forget Coco, there’s a Pizza Planet truck spotted in that movie during the no music scene 😉🗯️🇱🇰💀🪔🎸🔔🐲🍂🍁🐕🩻🪆🖼️📺💖🎆🏟️🪇🪗🪘🎼🍱
And WALL-E
13:24 That would be legend Randy Newman. He's still alive to this day, and is currently 80 years old.
"Where's dad at?"
The prevailing theory is that the parents are separated/newly divorced based on the father's absence, the family moving, and them getting a puppy (surprisingly common during a divorce).
32:23 I can only imagine the guys in the recording booth trying their hardest not to laugh at Tim Allen’s performance.😆
I have to confess something. The scene where Sid was burning Woody's forehead with a magnifying glass scares me a lot. That horrible face of his, and those teeth! No wonder he has braces. "Where are your rebel friends now?" (Evil chuckle)
😈🔍😱
Here's a interesting little fact of the Green Army Men. In the behind the scene, the production crew nail down two sneakers on a wooden board and the crew try to make movement on the how the Green Army Men would move. And the guys doing that actually got paid. I learned that from ElectricDragon505 who did a history look back on Pixar.
Out of the songs in this movie (before anyone says it, I know there aren't a lot of them), my favorite is "You've Got A Friend In Me"
Side note:
So many comedy legends/comedic actors in this movie
Tom Hanks-Woody (I also love him in the movie Splash, with Daryl Hannah as his mermaid love interest)
Tim Allen-Buzz Lightyear (I also love his portrayal of Santa in the Santa Clause movies)
Jim Varney-Slinky Dog
Don Rickles-Mr. Potato Head
John Ratzenberger-Hamm
Wallace Shawn-Rex
Annie Potts-Bo Peep (She's also best known as Janine Melnitz in Ghostbusters and as Sheldon Cooper's grandmother in the sitcom Young Sheldon)
Yeah, Randy Newman sung and wrote the soundtrack. And yeah, he’s still alive.
15:02 That moment always cracks me up, lol! Never get old.🤣
“Where’s Hakuna Matata from? Lion King I think.”
Is this whole video an April Fools prank? 😅
I dont think they saw or remember Lion King
I find it hard to imagine you guys never watched Toy Story until now. But I’m glad to be here to witness this moment.
Well, imagine it since there are really popular movies I also haven't seen. Shocking, I know...
I mean they did went this long without watching classics like SpongeBob, Ed Edd n Eddy, etc. so I'm not surprised lol
yeah I love their movie reactions
This is legendary, where it all began.
This was their first feature film since Pixar was created. It's so old even Steve Jobs is credited since he was one of the founding members and of course provided the computer gear for the company.
By the way the Buzz Lightyear movie is great.
do you mean the 2022 Lightyear film? if so they are gonna be confused as heck by that movie's plot twist.
@@muhdnazmy6010 Fun to see their confused face then. 😁
Fun Fact: Toy Story used a different opening originally 1995-2005 with its own Walt Disney Pictures Opening completely redone in CGI with its own musical score by Randy Newman. It was shown in:
1995 Theaters all the way to the 2005 10th Anniversary DVD release. Though in 2010 the 1995 Walt Disney Pictures opening was replaced by the 2006 standard and 2008 Pixar Opening.
Randy Newman is alive and well at the age of 80.
Randy Newman is Fantastic Singing The Songs In This Film!

The number plate on Andy's moms car is A113, which appears as Easter eggs in other Pixar movies, like the directive code for Auto in WALL-E, on an underwater camera in Finding Nemo, a certain room in The Incredibles, to mention a few.
Forgot to add the bit on why it is used by Pixar.
Wikipedia - "A113 is a studio code and its variants are an inside joke and Easter egg in media developed by alumni of California Institute of the Arts, referring to the classroom used by graphic design and character animation students."
Plankton - " I went to college for this! "
Just like how John Ratzenberger in cast as tradition or was it some luck charm? Maybe better than a place where everybody knows your name?
They traumatized Sid for life and celebrated💀
I know Andy’s family had to move that day, but I think both Woody and Buzz’s friendship growth and terrifyingly Sid were the best moves of all. 😊😂
Me when I am getting my wisdom teeth removed 27:16
Y'all Gotta Catch up IT HAS BEEN A TOY STORY 4 NO CAP
Fun Fact: Sid was based off a former employee at Pixar who has been known to disassemble toys and use the parts to build strange creations also they named Sid during production "Little Jack Nicholson" and you notice in Sid’s house his carpet is a reference to The Shining
Toy Story is one of the epic Pixar movies I've missed. This really made me laugh and cry. You've got a friend in me is my favorite song. To infinity and beyond!

Never been this early to a reaction before
So I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the toolbox that's on top of the blue crate in Sid's room, keeping Woody from getting out Is a reference to Home Improvement. The show that really boosted up Tim Allen's career as an actor. The brand Binford was a sponsor of "Tool Time"
I was 3 when the movie came out. My dad brought the movie on VHS. Toy Story is a fan favorite in the household. I cry whenever watching it because it was my dad’s favorite Disney film. A trip to Disney isn’t complete without meeting the characters
