Yo, Jesse was my favorite character. She was so full of energy and the voice acting was spot on. Without even looking at the screen, you know it’s her. I still have the doll from when I was a kid.

Fun fact: It's canon that Woody is Andy's dad's toy which was given to Andy by his dad when he died. Which is why Woody is Andy's favorite toy. This is not in any of the movies, but was revealed in a interview with John Lasseter when asked about Andy's dad.
Woody, Mr. Potato Head and Slinky Dog were in the toy chest when Andy first opened it up. Those 3 toys belonged to his dad. That may be why Mr. Potato Head was implied to be jealous when Woody was Andy's favorite.
It was also confirmed in an interview with John Lasseter that Woody was a prototype of a Woody doll that was never released. They decided to give away the prototype in a sweepstakes, which Andy's dad won.
Even Andy's mom said it's a old family toy which means it's 100% Andy's dad's toy!

The graphics in this Toy Story 2 is extremely ahead of its time, especially part where they're cleaning Woody. Simply amazing for it's time.
Pixar’s animation had been improving and getting better with each and every movie
Pixar really pushed the limitations of their computers serves for the time. It’s incredible since computers from the 90s and early 2000s were so slow.

Let's not forget the fact that Toy Story 2 was completed in A FEW MONTHS! Making it even more impressive
Toy Story 2 had one nightmarish production going from starting the entire film from scratch to the film almost getting deleted entirely. Thankfully, a Pixar employee had the film backed up on her computer while she was on maternity leave. So a baby pretty much saved Toy Story 2!

55:10 Actually hits a lot harder after rewatching this movie, Jessie and the other Roundup Crew were replaced by space toys, so getting complimented by Buzz means a LOT more to Jessie than you would think at first.

Toy Story 2 is my all time favorite Disney movie because Jessie appears and she’s my favorite. I finally purchased a doll in 2015 from Toys R Us. A trip to Disney isn’t complete without meeting the characters

That was the darkest movie in the franchise.
That scene was gonna be in the first movie with Andy throwing Woody away after realizing he's not as advanced as Buzz. With the moving van driving away from the trashcan during a surreal black and white rainy scenery. And ending with a hoard of cockroaches crawling and covering Woody's body.
Nobody is ready for 3 when first watching it.

If you ever wondered where Pixar got its reputation as the studio that makes you ugly cry while watching their movies from, this film started it all. The Jesse flashback still hits deep, all these years later.
Also, a fun fan theory I heard is that Andy's Mom actually is Emily because he has a red cowboy hat like Emily had in the flashback, which would obviously fit way more with Jesse's color scheme than with Woody's.
And Emily has blonde-ish looking hair hair just like Andy's mom.

you know this was really my favorite the adventure buzz, and his friends were having to go out and find Woody by finding Al’s toy store and later finding his house I even love the part where buzz thought he could fly with gravity and decides to let go.
And even the dramatic finale where it was a race to the airplane to save Jessie and jump off the airplane and my favorite part of all was where Woody says let’s Go home because that mark the end of a great and amazing adventure
My favorite part is Buzz being really welcoming to Jessie :)

If you look back at when Andy is playing with Woody in the first film, you can see he’s wearing Jessie’s hat instead of Woody’s. That and Andy’s mom saying to Al at the garage sale that Woody was a “family relic” and given the timeline of Woody’s roundup and also the timeframe Emily was in during Jessie’s flashback, it would make sense that Andy’s dad passed down Woodh to him but Andy’s mom (Emily) gave her away but kept Jessie’s costume hat.
Why is AL so hilarious in this film lmao? Like everything scene he appears in has something memorable
I say it's because of Wayne Knight's voice performance, he's very underrated as a voice actor, cuz he's also hilarious in that Nickelodeon show Catscratch

My personal opinion: "When She Loved Me" is one of those bittersweet songs that gives you a great backstory and makes you cry at the same time.
During the production of this movie, Pixar was unhappy with the original version of this movie and after Disney wouldn’t let them delay the movie to change it, the entire movie was remade from scratch in just 9 months.

So the official confirmed by the creators story of how Andy got woody goes like this: when Andy’s father was little he had polio and loved woody’s round up and the show created a contest but by the time the contest ended sputnik had happened and they were shutting down but they found Andy’s dad’s letter and found out he had polio and how much he loved the show and they sent him a prototype woody doll the only one of its kind and he loved it and he got better from having polio and he grew up and met Andy’s mom and had a family but he got sick because his polio came back and he sadly died but he left something to Andy from years ago in the attic in a trunk was woody and Andy’s dad’s old toys and since they hadn’t seen Andy’s dad since he was Andy’s age they believed it was him and the sweetest thing Andy’s dad was also named Andy so they still thought it was their kid and he hadn’t aged a day 🥹

Believe it or not it was Andy’s mom that was Emily that abandoned Jesse in the flashback. Because in her childhood she had the same red hat that Andy wore now.
Fun fact: This movie almost never happened. Something happened that caused all of the progress for the movie in Pixar's studio to be completely erased. It was only saved because one of the animators had a backup copy of the files on her personal at home.

Glad you guys enjoyed this one. If you pay attention you can kinda tell that Stinky Pete was the villain all along because even though he claims he's in mint condition and never been out of the box then he shouldn't be able to move around in his box. If he were truly mint condition he was still be twist tied to the plastic so his arms shouldn't have been able to move. They cleverly foreshadowed it and kids would be none the wiser.
There's a theory that Jessie's previous owner, Emily, is actually Andy's mom. If you look at the hat that Andy wears in the first film it has the same string loops around the brim as Jessie's hat, so its believed that was hers when she was young and passed it on to Andy. Since Jessie is a collectors toy, Jessie's hat would've been exclusive, rare merch like the rest of the stuff in Al's collection room. So, if the theory holds true Andy has both of his parents toys.
Also, all these years later my husband still cries to "When She Loved Me," so I turned down the volume while watching that part of the reaction. The song still makes me tear up too though.

One of the (many) things I love and respect about this movie is that they don't go down the love triangle route with Woody, Jessie, and Bo Peep. They don't even try.

If you guys are really enjoying this and plan to watch all the Toy Story sequels, consider watching "Buzzlighter" the animated series as well when you have a opening. I remember it pretty fondly and it was cool how much they made just for a spinoff

So they die in the wall-e verse if the car of pizza planet makes it a pixar timeline

The first one is a legendary masterpiece, but this one is when Toy Story and Pixar truly came of age. It’s fun, hilarious, epic, tearjerking, and sweet. It’s a perfect film, truly.
Back in the day even at four years old I could tell this was a true event movie. Everybody loved it, everybody still loves it. It was in a real hot streak for Disney, they had this, Tarzan, Dinosaur, Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, Emperor’s New Groove, Kingdom Hearts, House of Mouse.

There’s a theory (I’m sure it’s already in the comments) that Andy’s mom was Jessie’s kid. The biggest piece of evidence being that the red cowboy hat Andy has is the same one (albeit much more worn out) shown in Jessie’s flashback.

I love Toy story 2 and it was a good sequel and then the third movie was the perfect ending of the Toy story trilogy and it should have stayed a trilogy but they had to make a 4th movie.
Something I never noticed before. The reason Woodys arm most likely ripped is most likely because of Buster. When he came into the room and found Woody he has him by the arm that would tear and was a bit rough with him. Plus Woody asking Hamm how long it took Buster to find him implies this has happened quite a few times.
