Maybe you could find sponsors some people just can't afford to have their dog groomed every 8 weeks. Doesn't mean their love for their dog is any less. Bless you for what you do.

I adopted a cat, that was in a home with smoked Pot. The cats poop smelled so horrible, I had never smelled a cat that smelled like that. It wasn’t but a few weeks of fresh air, no pot, and real food the cat started to thrive. And the litter box didn’t smell disgusting after being in a clean environment! The cat went through withdrawal at that same time, it was over a month before I got to know the cat . I guess smokers don’t realize that while they smoke their stuff in the house their animals are also receiving the damage. 😊

Omg that poor baby. This made me cry because of the shape he was in. He was so calm the whole time you were shaving him down. When he was in the tub and was crying it just broke my heart. I can’t imagine how painful it was having all those things stuck in his skin. The water may have made them hurt more with his skin being exposed. We don’t know but thankfully you were able to remove most of them. When you have a pet it’s your responsibility to care for them, protect them and to love them because they are family too. I agreed with you in that something needs to be done to those that don’t care for their animals. Maybe the news media needs to have things like this to their attention and hopefully make a difference to animals that are being abused.

When I was. Kid, I found a little dog. It was a dog that was dropped off, I’m sure, because we lived outside of town. Her hair was so matted and dirty, She was flea bitten had ticks in her ears under her legs. She was in horrible shape. With Dawn dishwasher soap a water hose, and some paper scissors, and several hours of picking on her she was a new dog. I was only 10 maybe 11 years old. I had her washed all her hair cut, ticks off and fleas dead before my mom got home, now the poor dog wanted to hide for about a week or so but she was never nasty again. I also saved up babysitting money to get her spayed and her shots. She had puppies not long after we got her, and again before I had enough money to get her spayed. She became a beautiful black and white speckled little thing, we called her Pepper. My mom didn’t have the money for a dog but we kept her and My mom along with all us kids fell in love with her. Pepper had pancakes in the shape of a dog, with peanut butter on them Saturday mornings😂 that way we knew those were for pepper. My mom cooked a little extra meat and she got all the scraps. There is no excuse for a dog to get in that shape. Get rid of them if you can’t keep them. Seriously it doesn’t take a bunch of money. Only if you have the money to spend does it take a lot. All the special heart wormers, flea medicine and different shots. Yes, that’s costly, and some are needed, but back years ago we did garlic in the water, coconut oil in the food and regular baths. My mom cooked an extra piece of chicken or pork, or whatever we had for dinner, heck mom was cooking for five hungry kids one little dog didn’t make any difference. Pepper got her veggies, and leftover cereal, she learned not to be a picky eater, just like the rest of us kids. Pepper lived to be about 14 years old. Long story I know, but I’m so thankful for those who see that something needs to be done and gets it done. For everyone who volunteers to help someone or something out believe me it doesn’t go unrecognized! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏 bless you!

Poor sweet patient fella deserves better owners who will love and care for him. I have a beefy shih tzu boy named Charlie. I get him completely shaved every few months and he looks like a completely different dog. He even has a heart shape on his side that becomes visible. He’s such a social pup and loves cats, people and other dogs. My husband takes him to his office on Fridays and he’s a hit with the ladies. I take him kayaking with me in the summer. We go for peaceful walks down my country road most days. Such a good boy.

He was with me for 13 years, I had to put him down after having multiple seizures and some other health issues in 2021. I will miss him forever, he was such a precious boy. Thats true, & some ppl need to be told specifically what to do & not to do with certain things bc they just simply don't know. There are ppl out there that are oblivious to so much & lack common sense. & Ppl who need help but are the rare case of not having anyone, the issue can become so embarrassing that it completely shuts them down. All it takes is the owner getting sick, no one to help & bam, the dog hasn't had a cut, the yard is over grown & the house needs a deep clean. But most of the time it's ppl being lazy & neglectful.

@@jessicavoyles8935I happen to be one who lives alone in the outskirts of a village and it's so rare to see neighbors since they come every so no and then. And sometimes their dogs attack my pets and it's very hard on me when they won't do anything about the problem and continue to let it happen. Animal control, and whatnot don't do anything about the situation... I am disabled and without friends and my family almost never sees me. And they almost always claim that they can't come or are too busy whenever I call on my phone. And there are no services close by to drive me as I am unable to drive on top of this. I only get to leave my house every 1-2 months at a time just for groceries and I even then have trouble with shopping as I end up needing someone to help me cause I am in so much pain that I am unable to walk. I also happen to be young, 25 years old with several pets and animals and goes into debt in order to keep them in as best condition as I can. I do not have a job either and relies off of SSDI for income. My family does come but it is so rare, and usually for the money payments for rent I give them and they do they caregiving for me.

Honestly, I think that the most extreme show of love an owner can do, is to let their pet go. It's hard, because we love them, and so often they're everything to us. My dog is the reason I get out of bed every morning, the reason I go outside and get exercise and social interaction, he has helped me so much through my fight with depression and anxiety. I don't have human children, but I have him, and I've overcome so many obstacles in my life in order to provide the care he deserves. He saves my life every single day, and he has no idea.
All that said, if there ever comes a time that I cannot provide for him (knock on wood), I will give him up (to a VERY well researched rescue). It's selfish to keep a pet when you can't provide basic veterinary care, grooming upkeep, and proper exercise and diet. Just the idea of my dog becoming matted and covered in poop like this... It upsets me. I would 1000% give him up so he has a chance at the life he deserves, rather than keep him with me and see him like this. I'll bend over backwards to make sure he is happy, healthy, and cared for, even if it means giving him up.

You are right people need to ask for help but sometimes when people ask for help they get criticized so that's why alot of people won't ask for help.

That poor little puppy dog - that was so hard to watch. How can people not care for their pets? That bought me to tears hearing the little dog crying in pain. I can't imagine how hard it was for you. Lucky you were there to take care of the lil guy :(

Foxtail grass seed is very irritating and can embed itself into your dog's soft tissue, which can cause itching, irritation, and eventually infection. Also they can allow the seed to continuously move forward, traveling inside the dog from the nose to the brain or into a lung, and spreading bacteria that cause infections. Mary Beth, I have a feeling that is what’s imbedded in JoJo’s skin. Marry Beth you are an angel and a God send to the poor mistreated dogs that cross your path. ❤

I lost my job and couldn’t afford to get my pomipoo groomed for awhile. I got a grooming kit with scissors and a good trimmer. It doesn’t look as good as my groomer but it is better than her getting matted. The more I do it the better I get actually. Love watching your videos so I can learn.❤

I used to work at a farm store and we'd get horrible guys come in and brag that the cattle prod they were buying was for dogs to abuse them into fighting! A really great policeman who would regularly come in to buy dog food for his dogs was talked to by one of the staff and he'd take the info of the people abusing their dogs and follow up on it. So, maybe find an officer who loves dogs if in your state he can arrest for animal abuse because they may be willing to work with you about the most neglected dogs you see. Good luck and I think it's awesome that you're helping dogs in those awful situations! ❤❤❤

I really feel your pain....... if I could, I would take this poor dog myself. I have rescued dogs, large and small, all my adult life. The 2 small dogs (a Yorkie and a Bischon-ese) are always kept groomed every 5-6 weeks and baths between times if needed. You are extremely kind to help this dog out as much as possible........ if I only lived closer.

I can’t imagine the pain from all those foxtail seeds. My dog had one imbedded in her tail. We brush her every day and noticed a bald spot and a swelling on her tail. It had abscessed. Straight to the vet. How any pet owner could allow what that little one went through is unconscionable. If you don’t know how to take care of any animal don’t own one. Unfortunately and sadly there are those that don’t care. This sweet dog is an example of that

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm like you if you love someone you don't let them get like this! You may not be a veterinarian but you know dog's and love them and know what is best for them. I would bring my dog to you in a heart beat because you have a heart. We got our little Maggie from a kill shelter 14 years ago and she was in very bad shape took her right to the veterinarian and it took about six months of medication but she is worth everything and we love her so much. God bless you and your business and yes put this kind of stuff on the news because people need to see the truth. Much love and respect from Virginia ❤

Because the dog was mostly calm, I’m assuming he was used to being groomed in the past. Instead of assuming the owner is a bad person, it’s possible they have suffered some mental health issues, medical problems, or significant grief recently that prohibited them from being able to take exceptional care of their pet. Hopefully they are turning things around and getting the help they need to make a better life for themselves and Jojo. You have made a positive impact on their ability to do so.

When I was growing up, my mom taught me at a very young age how to groom our family dog. We could only afford professional grooming about once a year and the rest of the time we clipped him at home and I brushed him daily. His hair cut didn’t look amazing, but he was tidy and clean and had no mats

She did not get that dog back. 😂 Hopefully these people will take the dog grooming more often cause he is very sweet.

God never left. He just allows us to choose our actions based on our own personal beliefs and the animals suffer. Sometimes it’s lack of money or maybe the owner has become disabled, for whatever reason they are no longer able to take care of the animal. The person needs the pet for company and companionship but can’t afford the care required. It’s an unfortunate situation all the way around. All any of us can do is pray for the family and neighbors to realize that something is wrong and that God sends the right person to the owner to help.

Maybe you should put a sign up sheet out for volunteers to pick up the animals that people needing help to get them to the groomers &/or vets office. Not everyone has help in their relatives. There will be a lot more neglect moving forward. I for one have already seen that relatives do not always help when you need it. I have to pay my relatives to help me with the things I need help with. I will eventually not have a relative to help me. Thankfully, I have a friend who has pledged to help me with getting to and from any appointments that my relatives will not help with. I plan in the future to move closer to that friend.

Hi Mary Beth, I just watched a pet rescue show about rescue dogs. They rescued a little black dog who has servere matting, especially it's legs and feet. When they sedated and were shaving it's legs and feet they discovered the front feet were no longer attached. The matting had cut the circulation to the paws off and the result was the dogs feet fell off. Needless to say the owner was charged. Maybe you should get owners of severe matted dogs to go and watch what will happen if they don't groom their dogs. Maybe then they will get what you are saying.

Sweetie, if the owner of this dog has enough money to buy themselves cigarettes to the extent that YOU can smell it on the dog, then that dog owner CAN PAY to have someone regularly groom this dog. It's all about PRIORITIES!! Let's be truthful - either they do care or they don't give a sh*t!

Why don't people bring this up during elections? It's a disgrace that this is allowed to happen and authorities do nothing even when contacted.
News, local politicians, animal welfare groups need to be contacted. This needs to be done all over the USA. I'm shocked at how so called shelters and animal welfare is handled in the USA.
