If you guys did an E30 setup you'd really corner the market. There isn't really anything that good on the market for them. I know it's a really old school setup but the current aftermarket all seem kind of hokie.

Josiah. I drive the blue e30 from klutch kickers. If you re design the rear of an e30 you will change the game son. It will just require some serious thinkin. But there’s tons of room for improvement and nobody does shit

Not much you can improve on a semi trailing arm besides the mounts usually moving the inner one will correct a ton on the e30 as well as balancing anti squat if you aren’t complying to fd rules and can change the subframe height to adjust the anti squat
Can’t imagine a 3 link irs set up being worth the money for the e30 crowd but that’s what would be needed to make any real change or a solid axle similar to Chelsea’s fox body imo

There is a rallye kit from Finland which converts it to the traditional e36 setup I and another one which converts it to double wishbone. However, there is nothing wrong with the stock setup if you modify it slightly. Changing the angles at which the arm attaches to the subframe will make it have less camber and toe gain. The loss of toe gain isn’t very good but a normal e36/46 doesn’t have a lot of that anyway, and there is a happy medium to be found here. Just change it so all the attachment points of the control arms are more in line instead of the v it is mounted in (from top view) it’s all about the axis where the arm pivots around which makes the toe and camber gain

Are you going to be able to make this modular with an E36? Seems like you could with just different subframe and chassis mounts. Would like to also like to understand why not have an option to keep a divorced shock and spring setup. I assume it’s not used as much at a professional level.

There’s certain points of the chassis and subframes that can not be modified as to fit within FD regulations. That what they design their parts around.

Those quick release pins you originally used... Do they thread into factory bolt holes or are they welded in? I'm trying to find a quick release system for my bike and they look like they would work for what I need

Why would bmw design a suspension that toe's out under compresion? Is it just lack of skill or are there any benefits to it?
