Stoked for the whole series!! After this series is over do rear alignment! Setting up for toe gain with squat vs just static toe in. Antisquat adjustment and effects. Rear toe in and how it affects forward vs side bite and float. How to choose spring rates (how soft to go and especially front vs rear setup). Damper adjustment (3-way). Sway bar setup. Watched tons of other videos on rear alignmenr but none are designed for drifters. Everyone focuses on the front alignment!

He should!! And also cover cars that have active and passive 4WS. The car I have has passive four wheel steering which I believe is just a toe out under compression but could be other factor involved, but desperately want to understand it. It’s call Mazda twin trapezoidal link and can’t find crap on it

    14:43 - just a fun "fyi"
If anyone has an 2wd rc buggy or truck at home (think Associated RC10/RC10T, Losi, Kyosho, Yokomo etc...) they're nearly all set with a factory "kickup"/or caster angle of 30 degrees... You can REALLY see the camber gain on those when you turn the wheels if you own one.

Thank you so much. (SIM DRIFTING) I was having problems with a JZX100 @ the entry @ Long Beach. On entry the steering would get so light it was hard to control precisely under hard throttle with full lock. NOW I think that reducing the caster angle in the front would be the move I need to make. I like my steering to be slightly stiff.

If the car has a front steering rack, it will be better to add caster from the lower control arm, this way you prevent overcentering right?

Which side is the front of the car??
I’m used to the tie rods of the steering being in front of the control arms (sn95 mustang) so to me this is showing negative caster, which is almost never done.
What car is this mimicking that has either the tie rods on the back or negative caster?
Other than that, great amazing video but I fought to understand where the front of the car was to try and imagine a tire steering in my mind on my car.
Excited for the series and I’ll be sharing this on Facebook. Great job!

@@FDFraceshop thank you!!! Rear rack, that helps. Also, you mention it’s the drivers side. I’m assuming it’s left hand drive. • @jamaisvu2664

It’s the front left side he’s mimicking here but he’s also referencing rear caster as well. Also the location of the rack doesn’t seem to matter in regards to the principles. It will when setting up the car but not for the discussion

FDK can you address the issue of cars with Macphearson for racing? I see many defending Macphearson because Porsche, BMWs, Subarus have it. I am looking for a car my self to do my first build and I'm confused (as faaaa ...). I even read that a badly executed SLA can be worse than strut so idk what to think anymore.
