  • Shoulder stability exercises for rotator cuff tear, tendonitis, & impingement don’t tend to have much focus on stabilising the shoulder joint while you’re actually doing the exercise. They tend to focus on the larger motions of the Infraspinatus and Teres Minor muscles. But if your ultimate goal is to stabilise the head of the humerus, it makes sense to include a component of that in your rotator cuff rehab.
When a shoulder is unstable, the head of humerus tends to move forward, or up, too much within the joint. So actively retracted the humeral head as you strengthen the cuff muscles makes sense. The bonus of this is that as you do this you’ll naturally strengthen the muscles which tilt the shoulder blade into a more upright position, which help increase space in the shoulder joint too. So here’s how to do it.

Shoulders can be very frustrating, Michael. You're not alone. I've been there, that's why I've researched shoulders so much.
Watch this too, and combine the two...

Thank you so much! Your explanations are always so clear and concise. You don’t add in excessive talking, you just get to the point in a reasonable amount of time, nice and short!

You were listening to me! Was telling a friend yesterday that my shoulder was still giving me a little grief (tore my rotator cuff 4 years ago). Will try these. Thank you.

Wow, that really isolates an issue I'm having, thank you. Is it too much to do this daily?

You could try it but the muscles will probably get a bit sore because you'll be working things you haven't before. So every second day is usually better

@@BodyFixExercises OK. It's funny...I do several shoulder exercises daily, and somehow these muscles have been left out!

Liking the video! The moment i did the excercise my rotator cuff went 'pop', amongst other 'pops' :D Also Appreciate you answering my questions! I need these type of exercises as i have 'EDS". Putting myself in the right posture and pressing my palms together at about the Plexus level also seems to help with this. Unless that's just my imagination; it just feels good

That position you described move the shoulders back a bit, so it sounds like good move. Glad you like the video!
