Thank you for your vids. As an active paddler it is great to learn new stretches and techniques that have been beneficial. I find the videos very informative and essential for physical mobility. I was wondering if you have stretches/exercises for collarbone pain? Much aloha.
Glad you like them! We appreciate the trust, and thanks for stopping by. These exercises are the best place to start for collarbone pain. The collarbone is actually a part of the shoulder complex. The complex consists of four parts: 1. The SC joint (collarbone attaches here). 2. The AC joint. 3, The GH joint. 4. The scapulae. very nice and interesting, few years of yoga hv relieved the pain but not repaired my right shoulder well (computer mouse and keyboard injury started 15years ago, and going) albeit a lot of similarities with some of your exercises, but your method is very focused and perfectly target the area, so i will try that for next few months. Happen to stumble upon the video while looking up dealing with rotator cuff tears. The Orth surgeon informed me today it is a partial tear of supraspinatus tendon. I’m liking the 5 exercises here, am noticing the difference. Would you say these would help to recover from the injury sustained? Thanks for the expert tips here.
I really love these exercises. Already I feel better. I’m having a lot of trouble understanding how to do the number four exercise. It’s just not clear to me what you’re doing and this does seem like an important one to do. I have pain in the lateral part of my shoulder. Thank you!
Glad that you like the exercises and thanks for watching. What exactly isn't clear from Eric's explanation? Let me know some more info so I can assist you better. Talk to you soon :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM
@@PrecisionMovementCoach Specifically, it’s hard to tell exactly what he’s doing. It’s not obvious to me. It looks like some kind of twisting of the arm muscles in different directions. Perhaps to show one arm at a time. Then show the first part of the movement and say the actual muscle that you are moving in what direction and so on. I am want to understand the individual steps. Thank you!
You are on the right track. Arm twisting is definitely involved. Watch it again and take notes when you do. Follow along with Eric and copy his movements. You can even read the transcript. He does name the muscles, movements, and arm parts involved. Do that a couple of times, and you'll definitely nail it down :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM

But the difference this has given of pain relief is unbelievable thank you Eric I have my life back again..I'll continue doing these excersises.

Last year i hurt my shoulder again and SC joint from stopping a fall with my hands and also in yoga so looking forward to apply the 5 exercises in video as well as your other video on shoulder mobility with pinwheel and other fun exercises. I appreciate the relevency of these basic shoulder movements and your creativity to work with minimal equipment.

This is exactly what I need and the explanations are so clear. Thank you. The only thing that I now dont know about is what to do about the axial rotation exercise. It seems the most crucial one but it makes my shoulder click in an unpleasant way and it causes pain. How can l build up to this axial rotation?
Happy to help. Please experiment with the height and forward position of your elbow in each exercise. Make sure to do each exercise in a way that does not cause pain. Also, back off on any muscular activation and make your movements slower. Start where you feel that you have the most control and go from there. Let us know if you have any more questions :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM

Hi coach . Instantly felt the urge to watch you videos. Best decision. May i ask . My shoulder has been hurting past 20 years . Have had 2 surgeries 1 for ratator cuff repair and 1 for acromio however up to today still hurting . Recently realised the now its actually my bicep tendon which is very painfull and therefore giving refered pain. No impingement tho. This could be as result of many years of improper movement and which has made it weak . And what is frustrating is that it only gets worse after exercises. It easily gets irritated. 😢 Pls advise
Hi and thanks for reaching out to us. 20 years is waaaaay to long to be in pain. Would you recommend adding any of these exercises to the Shoulder Pain Solutions Rehab routines 1A/1B? My pain is a 3 or under. I started with Rehab phase to get a better base before doing Resilience. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. When doing Axial rotations is it normal to feel the shoulder blade muscles harden up while trying to control the bicep? Or should i try and relax it and focus more on my bicep
Hi and that is normal. Do you best to stay relaxed and follow Eric's cues. Keep us posted on your progress and let us know if you need more advice :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM
Hello, my shoulders for a while now have been weak. Strengthening exercises while doing didn’t hurt but after I had burning between both scapulas and such. It felt like they weren’t gliding like they should . I am very frustrated because PT Doctors, I have seen could never figure anything out as to why I have certain pains in my left scapula and ribs . Everything is left sided . I had imaging done 3/4 years ago and it didn’t too much, have still been going back and forth trying to figure all this out. My upper traps and levator are constantly spasming and doing a number on my cervical spine. I believe my shoulder muscles are inhibited. Now after all this time imaging shows 2 full tears supraspinatus tendons both shoulders. I have full use of my right shoulder and almost full w/my left . Doc said since I can still use my shoulders, I could try PT to strengthen what’s left with the other rotators Other surrounding structures. I certainly don’t want to make it worse. Would these exercises be beneficial without creating more issues? Thank you.

I don’t have constant shoulder pain but for over 20 hrs now I’ve have severe instability of the left shoulder. Not quite prone to dislocation but at the wrong angle something goes wrong with my shoulder and the scapular aggressively slides up to almost Petrine from the trap while the arm falls lower than normal and I have to find the right angle to pop it back to normal. Excruciating whenever this happens. I’m going to try all these exercises and see if they can help with stability. 🤞
Coach E, thank you for this and for all of your thorough, clear videos. I have a question regarding the distinction between thoracic extension and posterior scapular tilt; or, more to the point, whether posterior tilt can be distinguished as a deliberate movement. Put another way, I know how to extend my thoracic spine, and of course when I do the scapula moves with it. But I don't know how to "feel" and tilt the scapula independently. Is this something that can be done? Or is posterior tilt necessarily something that happens in conjunction with thoracic extension? And, if posterior tilt is something that can be done independently, are there any specific cues that are helpful in "finding" that control? Thank you again!
Hey! If you practice enough you will be able to feel and isolate your scapula. Check out this video for more tips: ruclips.net/video/loZ_zUdbwqM/видео.html :)
😊 we all struggle with the fact that all our muscles are highly integrated. Amazing, very smart thing indeed. One single movement here and a cascade of accompanying movements occur. I just feel like you with that. Some progress recently in sorting out different muscles from one another... Shoulders and thoracic spine ! such an interesting topic to practice on...
For sure. Engaging a muscle deliberately, as opposed to simply having a movement end goal in mind (like getting from point A to point B, or grabbing something from a shelf), is such a fundamentally different way to move. It definitely takes some practice to develop the awareness and motor control. Very interesting and fruitful though I think. @@edwigcarol4888
Hey Coach E.! Thank you for the great video! I think I have a kinda unique problem. I've been seeing my physiotherapist for more than 1 year now with a problem with my right shoulder/rotator cuff. My right shoulder is clicking/jumping during lateral raises but its not painful anymore. There's no problem with shoulder press also. However when doing chest press - while using bigger weight; with small weights there's no pain - my right front delt/rotator hurts and also my brachialis/pronator teres (somewhere at that area). Its can also be extremely painful to put on a backpack/jacket, despite i dont feel any pain while doing ANY of your movements in the video above. (also i feel something above my collarbone, close to my neck) If i do the rotation movement (movement 4) while me fists face towards the ground and theres a 45 degrees angle with my shoulder, it hurts at the front delt/rotator and also down the biceps. Only in the right arm (doing any kind of biceps exercises dont hurt except when my right arm is facing backwards like in movement 1 in the video above, so when the dumbbell/cable movement starts from behind my back). Also its really painful to do this excercise and doesnt improve even after doing it for months: ruclips.net/video/GEH6Y-_1X84/видео.htmlsi=zOqCK6GLWam_xNne&t=350 Its been more than a year altogether and despite having babysteps i dont see a significant results :\ I've been seeing a chiropractor also and he doesnt know whats the problem either, like my physiotherapist so basically we are just experimenting.. right now with the right scapula activation. Do you have an idea what can be wrong or what should I do the improve the situation? Thank you in advance!
oh and when doing the excercise on the link i sent above i feel something around my forearm and wrist also and in my neck too, so basically from my next to the wrist theres an uncomfortable feeling

I have been prescribed a overhead arm wall stretch by my osteopath but it seems to be causing more pain and tightness over the last 3 and a half weeks. No doubt it is stretching my scapula and traze that is also affected but tha arm still feels restricted. I do feel from timr to time something pulling in the shoulder joint.

I think nr 4 was the missing puzzle in my recovery. Very painful at first but an instant relief. The first part of the movement was surprisingly painful at first, but it quickly got better.

The complex consists of four parts:
1. The SC joint (collarbone attaches here).
2. The AC joint.
3, The GH joint.
4. The scapulae.

I really love these exercises. Already I feel better. I’m having a lot of trouble understanding how to do the number four exercise. It’s just not clear to me what you’re doing and this does seem like an important one to do. I have pain in the lateral part of my shoulder. Thank you!

Do that a couple of times, and you'll definitely nail it down :)

Would these be a priority if I already have a mild impingement? or a supplement to normal impingement rehab exercises?
Please prioritize these exercises :)
- Coach Joshua, Team PM
😢
Pls advise
Hi and thanks for reaching out to us.

Thanks for the video. When doing Axial rotations is it normal to feel the shoulder blade muscles harden up while trying to control the bicep? Or should i try and relax it and focus more on my bicep

Thank you.

@@PrecisionMovementCoach thank you Joshua
I don’t have constant shoulder pain but for over 20 hrs now I’ve have severe instability of the left shoulder. Not quite prone to dislocation but at the wrong angle something goes wrong with my shoulder and the scapular aggressively slides up to almost Petrine from the trap while the arm falls lower than normal and I have to find the right angle to pop it back to normal. Excruciating whenever this happens. I’m going to try all these exercises and see if they can help with stability. 🤞
Let us know how it goes :)

@@PrecisionMovementCoach I'm on it. Much appreciated!
(also i feel something above my collarbone, close to my neck)
If i do the rotation movement (movement 4) while me fists face towards the ground and theres a 45 degrees angle with my shoulder, it hurts at the front delt/rotator and also down the biceps. Only in the right arm (doing any kind of biceps exercises dont hurt except when my right arm is facing backwards like in movement 1 in the video above, so when the dumbbell/cable movement starts from behind my back).
Also its really painful to do this excercise and doesnt improve even after doing it for months: ruclips.net/video/GEH6Y-_1X84/видео.htmlsi=zOqCK6GLWam_xNne&t=350
Its been more than a year altogether and despite having babysteps i dont see a significant results :\
I've been seeing a chiropractor also and he doesnt know whats the problem either, like my physiotherapist so basically we are just experimenting.. right now with the right scapula activation.
Do you have an idea what can be wrong or what should I do the improve the situation?
Thank you in advance!
oh and when doing the excercise on the link i sent above i feel something around my forearm and wrist also and in my neck too, so basically from my next to the wrist theres an uncomfortable feeling

Super helpful, I like this kind of approach
Glad to read that :)
Stop doing anything that causes pain or that you cannot modify in order to do pain-free no matter how small the movement is.
