Hi! Congratulations! I absolutely love both of mine. Best wheels I’ve ever had on some luggage. Glad my video could help, thanks for dropping a line and coming by.
Hi! I do have 2 pieces July luggage- I also purchased one for my best friend who travels for work, and a light one for her daughter. I agree with you that it’s a beauty and though I don’t like branding, July makes it look fantastic. Use that extra bag for your shoes- and zip locks for your wet dirty beach wear… it’s practical and dump them in the washer when you get home. I enjoy your review - yeah, Lauren from It the Kelly’s is my go to reviewer!
@@indyglemaud8502 yeah Lauren’s reviews were very helpful for sure! Also how good are the wheels?! My larger checked luggage was still rolling buttery smooth even though it was loaded up to 49lbs. I was really impressed how easy it was to navigate through the airport and parking lots fully loaded.
Wow! Super cool bag and a company that I have not heard of. Thank you for the information....love the colour! Can't wait to see your other videos....great job!!!!
I have the July carry-on lite expandable. Super lightweight at 5.4 lbs on my scale. Works great. I pack too many men’s dress shoes for it to be a week effective. It worked great but my lavender color was noticed by gate agents as expanded. It would have gone unnoticed if black. It’s a great case.
Would still opt for the Away Bigger Carry-On Flex for two reasons: 1. There's a hidden handle on the bottom that makes getting the luggage out of a trunk or off the carousel much easier 2. Both sides have zippered pockets. Not sure why July only opted for one...
@@masonc73 there’s definitely better layouts in luggage for sure, the warranty covering airline damage is we sold me. Most companies don’t cover that. I’ve had 2 different pieces of luggage destroyed by the airlines. The airlines did offer compensation but it’s good to know that July also has your back.
Shoe bag: cheap daiso bag. Or a plastic bag. Or a shoe bag that one of my nicer shoes came with. But recently realized, double up and use a 6L osprey dry bag as a shoe bag. Other use is for handwashing laundry.
@@ZUCChinishrIMP I normally use a plastic grocery bag for my shoes, cheap, easy and easily replaceable. Since I’m reviewing gear now figured I’d invest in a proper bag and test it out for a possible future video. The dry bag is a great recommendation, I love travel with things that can multiple uses, that’s a great idea!
You did mention that your carry on was gate checked. Was it because it was overweight? I’m considering getting one but a bit concern about the weight and also it appears to be a bit bigger than the standard carry on size.
Gate checked due to overhead storage filling up. I haven’t had any issues in the states but this will not fly in Asia for example. July does off a “light” that will meet Asian and European requirements in both size and weight.
@@coolsonable since I only use it when fly domestically in the US, I would 100% buy it again and have been happy my purchase. The handle, the color and especially the wheels are fantastic.
Almost 4kg leaves not a lot left for luggage here in Europe. Max 7-10 kg depending on airline. A zipper and these locks are also questionable. I have learned a simple pen will get around the zipper. I have been looking at more or a clamping closure.
@@DaemonViews you’re absolutely right, this one is best suited for domestic travel in the US. July does offer “Lite” version which is significantly lighter and trunks (no zippers) I’m not affiliated but the quality and wheels on these are great.
Just ordered two July bags today and this was super helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make it!

If I had to do it over again, that’s the one I’d probably get but really happy with this one! The wheels are amazing. Thanks for stopping by Bryan!
Thanks for the great review! I go to the dollar store and get the disposable clear elastic hair nets to put on the bottom of my shoes for travel.
@@shellytaylor9500 that’s actually a fantastic idea!

@@UnPackD, that’s nice. I do really like the bumper guards too. They have an expendable one now too
Bumper guards are really nice, sadly it’s the first thing that gets scraped 🤣. Guess their just doing their job 🤷🏽♂️
