      Steven Crocker I don't doubt that his passing increased people's awareness of him, but his timeless material keeps them coming back. More than just sex jokes, the man was a deep thinker. His true brilliance shines on Opie and Anthony

    • @dylan8550
      @dylan8550 7 лет назад +45

      The difference between chapelles success and patrices is that dave went down the whole phony hollywood comedy road and then realized how much he hated it and left, patrice knew from the beginning he didnt want any part of that, if he was willing to do that theres no doubt he would have been at the same level as dave. But when it comes down to it i guess its a matter of opinion and we could argue all day who was funnier. They were both great. Bill hicks i never found funny at all, i liked the stuff he talked about and his perspectives on things, but he never made me laugh really. In terms of just being funny and nothing else i cant think of any comic more consistantly funny than patrice.

      He was the original "too soon", shoot his whole career was "too soon" before everyone copied it. He was the anti PC genius that talked about things we all thought of at one point in our lives but didnt have the balls to say it.

    Patrice is the *only* comedian I can bear to hear tell the same joke more than once. You could tell how in tune he was with whole masses of people he was because he would tailor the jokes to the audience. From the wording, to the timing- even the tone in his voice. Dude really knew what he was doing. And just as importantly was humble about it. RIP Legend.

      He used to also bash British comedy _in_ Britain for trying too hard to be witty. And generally confusing wit with humor. Again, the balls on the guy.

    Patrice was roasting British comics once because he proved that he can do standup well in both America and then come to England and do it just as well. Some British comics legit cant tour in America no matter how good they are because the humor and references dont translate as well. While Patrice can stand in front of any English speaking crowd in the entire world and rule.
