l am getting a few grey hair now and don't like them as they are all curly and stand up on ends! but now my hair is waist long, l want to carry on growing it and definitely want long grey hair when they go grey. l am not cutting them to make myself look like a man! (or a neutral-gender olde person)
What a blessing to have this video. Since i stopped coloring and cutting my hair it has grown to my waist and is all one length. I have been feeling a bit like something new but didnt want to leave the choice to any hairdresser especially one I did not know. Having ideas is helpful..thank you.
@@KatieGoesPlatinum I am a bit nervous to have it styled hairdressers tend to do what they like. since I am not interested in wearing it short and prefer to cut my hair no more then 1 or 2 per year aside from little trims I do myself. What would you suggest?
Love your hair.❤ I just grew my gray out. Had to cut short due to highlighting to blend as it grew out, but it dried it out. Can’t wait for it to grow out like yours! I’m 56 and will be growing it as long as I like!!
So pretty! My hair is long and silver and I'm past the point of caring what anyone else thinks. When I was transitioning it was pictures like these that inspired me until I reached my goal. Thanks for your positive videos.
My hair is long, it took me a while to grow it out. I am around 2 months into my grow out from dark brown back to my silvery hair. I am going to keep it long right now as I love the freedom of styles I can choose from. Who knows tho, in a year I may cut it short and let the gray shine. Whatever my heart desires.
I'm almost 60 with have long curls and am just starting my transition to grey. Perhaps it is 'taboo' but is there a way to add some shine to my boring salt and pepper?. All the women I see have a beautiful gloss to their silver and grey and that's what I'd like to aim for, but I know that's not what I have. Thank you so much for any help, and for making such excellent videos!🥰
Honestly, almost none of us have to add shine as the silver brings its own shine! How far along are you in your transition? You might see more shine once the salt & pepper is all grown out and the dye is cut off. (Some women have tried toners and glosses but I have heard way too many horror stories about those to recommend them, unfortunately. Many women have ended up with discolored hair). You could try using a purple shampoo to make the silver "pop" more but I wouldn't recommend doing that too often as it's drying. Hope this helps and glad you love the videos!
@@KatieGoesPlatinum I'm only 3 months in so all I'm seeing at the moment is very dull salt and pepper. I'll keep my fingers crossed then that it will start to look better as it grows out then. Thanks!
I have invested more in shampoos and products. I normally air dry my hair, but color wow dream coat is amazing. Also, I tried many purple shampoos and for me Moroccan oil’s isn’t drying. They have just come out with a new oil for grey hair as well. Redken purple mask is also meant to be good. Using masks is less drying. It’s a little too fragranced for me as I’m super sensitive.
I’m 50 with long hair. Ever since I was young I knew I would want long grey/white hair as I aged. Well it’s finally growing in on the edges under all of the dark hair on top, and front (money piece) Was looking at grey highlights on top layers to blend it in. But, that would mean maintenance and dark roots still. 😩
It's funny because in the Black culture we rock our long hair if it's gray or not beware our long gray hair. That is in my culture we were never told that we had to cut our short simply because we're older in other words it's not a black thing
Would you consider wearing your gray hair long? Let me know! I LOVE my long gray hair but I know it's for everyone - I'd love to hear your thoughts!

@@kenazfehu7176 nice! Any videos?
Simply fabulous! Makes me glad I started my gray journey! 12 weeks in & counting…❤
Congratulations! You'll be done before you know it 🙂

Wonderful! And thank you - I know my long gray hair drives some elderly members of my family crazy but I love it ❤️
I love my long hair. Many people kept leaving comments telling me to cut it and i refuse. Long hair is beautiful at any age 😀
Yes!!
Love this! Gorgeous ladies in the video!! I think the grey actually enhances their beauty and darker hair would not let their beautiful faces shine! ❤
Thanks, Abby! And thanks for volunteering your photo 🙂. I agree!

Sounds like a great plan! ♥️♥️
Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Totally my plan!
Yay! Do you have a particular hairstyle in mind?
I'm at the one inch stripe with hair to my waist. Really scared, but looking forward to it ❤️
I know it's daunting but it can be liberating and fun, too! I hope you have a great transition!
Wow!!! Beautiful! I'm growing my greys out at the moment
Best of luck to you - it's fun, isn't it? 🙂
I'm 65 with very long salt & pepper hair. I receive compliments often especially from young women.
I love it especially when young women admire our long natural hair!
This video is great and so many beautiful faces! Thank you !🙏🏼

Im 63, and my hair is a couple of inches below my shoulders. I’m glad to let it get quite a bit longer. I like it. Anyone who doesn’t, too bad

Yeah, I would recommend against it - so many brunettes going gray that I know who’ve had highlights have had to deal with a lot of discoloration.

My hairdresser says that whomever made the rule that women over 50 shouldn’t have long hair, must have had really bad hair.
