I’m in! Im gonna be 51 in February and have been waiting for the “right” time to allow more of the authentic me shine . It’s been one month and I can say that I am experiencing a giddy excitement about the whole thing. You are all so lovely, thanks for having my back☺️
I cannot wait 😊I have not dyed my hair in two months. And I do not miss it. Thank you for inspiring other women to be free and their own authentic selves. You are a blessing to all us. You look absolutely stunning!!
You and your hair look FABULOUS! It’s such a beautiful mix of colours, steely grey I would call it. Very classy. I coloured for many years then decided to go for it, waited till I had a decent regrowth then got it cut super short about 4 years ago, everyone loves it as I do. So simple and easy now, not to mention healthy. I’m almost completely white now and with olive skin I just love the look. Good on you 👍😁
I went white on the front inch, near my face, when I was 25. I wasn't ready for it, so I dyed until I was 45, when all of a sudden I was tired of it. I went cold turkey and got some very rude comments, mainly from 70+ year old men, telling me, "You ought to look after yourself better". Happily, I found a come back from somewhere on YT, "I'm not here to decorate your world!". I love my hair, it still has a thick white stripe at the front, but it feels very me and no one else. Be you, no matter what that looks like, it's worth it! X
You look sincerely awesome.. You and those that transition have to be confident in your own body.. Some go half way and freak others have no regrets.. Congrats.
hats are very helpful! I recently learned by color palette season and that helps. Agree slavery. Also the condition! that is a big one for me as my hair has never done well with highlights, goes instantly dry and lifeless. One year so far growing out my highlights, can't wait for them to be gone.
I have decided to embrace gray hair . I used to use henna on my hair and I have hip length hair ..I am not sure how it would look ? Patches of gray + black + orange tones … I don’t want to chop my hair . Any tips to make the transition better?
Patience! That’s it. Because nothing works on henna, not even grey blending is possible. Just let it grow and keep on trimming the hair. Hope it helps.
You looked stunning the whole way through. Grey hair is beautiful and sadly we have been conditioned to think it isn't. The saddest thing was when you mentioned "hateful comments". Why would anyone do this to someone?
I started a few years ago, but then I found it horrible and back to the box dye I went. But recently I decided to let it grow out. I dyed it brown first but with the sun, there was some bleaching so then I put highlights twice. And I absolutely don't care what people think or say. Mind you, I'm 70!
Thanks for sharing. I’m currently in transition. Made the mistake of trying to “blend” and as a result, Iv had to chop about 26 inches. At chin length. I’m about half way colour free. Seems like all of a sudden it’s taking forever to grow!!! My question is; did you leave your hair to grow out until you felt the need for one big chop? Or as my stylist suggests little cuts every 6-8 weeks?… seems counterproductive if I am trying to grow out my hair?…. Your thoughts?.. I’m also switching my shampoo & conditioner to olaplex bonding as Iv heard great things about it. I wash my hair 1x week but it’s course!!!! And dry.. from my location (Canada). Any tips? Would love your feedback!!!
There are no rules. You can go for regular trims or a big chop, both ways it’s gonna take equal time to reach the finishing line, whatever suits you. Olaplex is a great product. Also have you heard of ACV rinse? It softens coarse hair to an extent and also is a great clarifying product for hair. Have a look at this article. Hope it helps: sparklingsilvers.com/acv-rinse-for-healthy-and-shiny-silver-hair/
It looks adorable... I am 38 nearly 39 and salt and pepper but more salt hahahha. I started dyieng my hair 3 year's ago ... red fantasy to just disguised the grays... now I am just dyieng the middle part and since 3 months ago I stopped dyieng the rest in order to avoid the demarcation line... then at the end of the year I am aiming to stop dyieng at all... I need courage... but don't take me wrong... I love how it looks on the rest of the women... I am just a bit afraid I won't like it ... or if someone says something nasty
I decided to go grey and I transitioned after 3 months of grow out with a full head of highlights and loved my grey but after 2 months the highlights went yellow as the toner wore off. Sadly I coloured it all again. Feel so fed up but I do love my red hair. I’m thinking of doing it again….help x
Hey! I am sorry it happened. Many women just give up on dye and let the nature do it’s process. It’s the cold turkey process. Highlights is a good option but it requires regular toning which again is a whole lot of work. To fasten the transition you can cut your hair short too. Best of luck! ❤️
I searched RUclips for silver/gray hair (I’m just starting my journey-technically yesterday) I love to be armed with info so I did watch some about yellowing and I found natural remedies that seemed to work better than toners & purple shampoo.
Are you a smoker? I'm curious to know if ppl who get gray hair are smokers . My mom still has alot of light golden brown and white hair. And she's 70. She never really was gray? She also isn't a smoker or drinker

Don’t ever try to please anyone no matter what you do someone will always be critical, so just please yourself and laugh at criticism 😅

I chose to go gray way before COVID. I'm glad I did not have to be concerned with not being able to get hair dye.
Are you a smoker?
