  • Trying to see if the transmission still fits and drives after a complete strip down, clean out and rebuild. Plus a few words from the local cockatoo community.

    I really admire your work with the case 580sk transmission and all your videos are very, very pleasant to see. Greetings from Mexico. I have a similar transmission here and it is very gratifying to put it together. Thank you for your videos.

    Injection pump def needs 12v power to run. But you probably already figured that out lol. Good Job! So glad the transaxle seems to be working well. Cant believe the previous owner put used motor oil in the hydraulic tank. Thats got to be one of the dumbest things Ive heard done in a while.

    • @pete-mate3524

      Hi Tyler, you're right. There's usually a little rubber plunger inside the fuel shut-off solenoid. I haven't got it apart yet, but I suspect they had some electrical issues and just removed the plunger and threw it over their shoulder. If I don't have a spare one here, the local fuel shop should be able to supply one for me..........when I get to that part! I'm finding a few "farmer fix's" on this machine that'll have to be rectified in time. Thanks for posting your comment!! :-)

    I guess I missed it, was it the torque converter and charge pump the cause of it not working and all the metal floating in it? Good job Sir!

    • @pete-mate3524
      @pete-mate3524  4 месяца назад

      Hi Tom! Yes, the torque converter is a relatively weak point on these machines. It's not so common that they're a "machine to avoid", but they do fail if not looked after properly. i.e. serviced regularly, and driven with care.
