- Learn how to sign in American Sign Language! This video will show the 4 signs for WINTER, SPRING, SUMMER, and FALL / AUTUMN. It then will also explain each a bit further, giving context for the sign and offering similar/identical signs that students often get confused about.
WINTER (also "cold" - use facial expression and context clues)
SPRING (also "plant")
SUMMER (looks like direct translation of "because")
FALL or AUTUMN (those are the same sign)

In school I’m exempt from taking a language which is Spanish or French but the last week of December and this January I found out about your channel, I learn a tremendous amount of vocabulary, Asl , signs and fingerspelling. After just a few days of learning all of this I talked to my guidance counselor in January and there is a fairly HIGH chance I’m going to be taking Asl classes next year in Distance learning!! Ooh.. not sure if you have a video about this, I know you do for feelings such as, excited, worried, etc, but it’s the word “Favorite” did you ever teach that? Bc what if I want to say. “What is your favorite season ?” To someone.

The four seasons of Japan, change in the nature at the season, Which season do I like? I would say, each season is fabulous.😅
The beauty of the nature that each season weaves is wonderful in winter, autumn, summer, spring. The good eating that can be done at each season is the enjoyment. The good harvest of rice is pleased to do enjoying the moon to look at cherry blossoms in spring, and to see the festival and Yukata, fireworks, pool, sea, in summer in autumn, and it warms ourselves in Kotatsu in the family, and it eats the pan in winter. This is a Japanese style.

If my name is Autumn could I just sign fall for my name or would that be confusing or just not done?
That wouldn't quite work -- it'd be necessary to fingerspell your name the first time you meet someone. People in the Deaf community are given name signs -- a sign that represents a *person* (not just their name). For example, two different people named "Sarah" might have different sign names, each representing their own personality or appearance. For a name like "Autumn" that may actually match to a word, it'd depend whether that sign is one you are given and/or keep as your sign name. For now, definitely fingerspell when you introduce yourself, though you could add "like autumn/fall".

I went to one concert and went to see her at the Tea Tavern here in Greeley Co and just watching her sing and sign at the same time, I became very interested to learn, the language is so beautiful! I am Peruvian but I have been living in the US since I was 16. I love languages, I can't wait to get better at it, I have been watching all ASL videos since January this year and I feel I can actually manage a conversation with Mandy Harvey when she comes back here! Hello! I really like your videos. I was wondering the difference between the sign “BLACK” and the sign “SUMMER.” It seems like for summer you bend your finger, and in black you do not, but I just want to make sure. Thank you so much!

Sure, that's one interesting way to think of it! It's also like the sign for "time period" but with an "S" handshape. Or "hour" with an "S" handshape. But I like your memory method, too!
