Hello Moth! I couldn't find you in person this year, but I wanted to thank you for making your Bico videos. Your first video was the actual 'thing' that finally pushed me to go the GB this year, and I had an unbelievable time. Thank you for bringing at least one person to Bico, and for making them hopelessly addicted 💘
Oh goodness, well I'm sorry our paths didn't cross, but hopefully we get the chance next year! I wasn't wandering as much as I usually do because of the heat, but it was a really amazing year regardless. Did you stay in non-decorum? If so, swing by the Oathsworn camp next year, we're super close by! Either way, I'm so glad my video pushed you to give it a shot, and hope to meet you in future years :)
Thanks for sharing these tips for newcomers! You were so kind last year to our little independent group/family just around the corner from your camp. Hoping we cross paths again this year though we will be in La Cité with the Covenant of the Black Rose.
Ah, thanks so much for your kind words :) It was amazing to run into you this year, I'm glad our paths crossed again! And thank you so much for the amazing wine, you were so kind as always. Hope you had an amazing year! Are you planning on staying with the Black Rose for the coming years?
It was great to see you again, Alicia. I’m glad you finally got something unpacked and on the walls. Only took a bit over a year. Lol This was an awesome introduction to the event. A small detail during editing. The captions you put up were great, but perhaps move them to the top left corner, make them a darker color against your bright wall, and set the duration for a second longer. I had trouble reading a couple of them because they ended too quickly. Other than that, you were perfect as usual. Possible ideas for another video, if you’re interested. Natural products that are 100% natural. Like if they do allow bathing in the river again, which I love, you can use Awapuhi pinecone ginger. It’s actually extremely healthy for hair. After cooking over a fire, you’ll get soot all over your pans. A simple solution is to grab a handful of old man’s beard moss, dunk it in water, then rub it in sand. It makes a perfect scouring pad to shine those pots and pans. I have hundreds of these suggestions from my years in scouts and my love for nature. Anyways, I hope this helped… oh wait I almost forgot! Insect repellent: 6 drops of vanilla extract to 8 ounces of water. It will wear off after about an hour so you have to reapply, but you’ll be the scent of the town if you do! They might talk about you too. 🤷🏻♂️ Have a great night
Hey now, I only filmed this back in April! ...but yes, it DID take me 4 months to edit the footage, so you've got me there. 😅 It's been a busy few months, to say the least. Thanks for the feedback! I considered that, but have built a sort of "colour aesthetic", and honestly was trying to stick to timing so attention to certain details I was saying out loud wouldn't be overtaken by what was written. By the time I'd gotten everything put together, I was just too tired to do another pass (3 non-stop days of editing will do that to you), and figured "hey, people can pause it if they really want". I took a peek once it was published and only then did I realize how quickly some of the captions came and went or how difficult they were to read so... yeah. Good mental note for the next time I edit a monster. Good next video idea! And thank you for your suggestions - I'm sure they'll be helpful to anyone reading the comments! I honestly didn't know about either, so good info for me too! (This is what I get for not being allowed to join Girl Scouts as a kid...) Thanks for watching and for your comments, my friend. Really appreciate you taking the time!

If not, there's always next year 😋
I only found out about bico last year through another RUclipsr and I searched up as much as I could on the topic for weeks on end. Well hello my friend! I really appreciate your kind words - it means a lot you've enjoyed the videos. Hopefully I can keep bringing you some joy in the future! As it comes to Bico, I definitely understand. I'm not sure if there are any LARP spaces in Australia, as I'm more familiar with Europe and the number of really cool ones looking there, but funds are definitely a big problem for people wanting to get into such things, even if you're right around the corner. I definitely didn't know how expensive this hobby is, and that's a big consideration. I'm glad you're back with a new Video! Just one little thing: It would be great if you found a way to filter out the white noise for your next Video 😁 Or maybe get one of those little mics that you can pin somewhere on your clothes? Otherwise great video - even if I will probably never attend Bicolline since I live in Germany 😅
As am I, my friend! Good feedback for next time - I don't think I remembered to hook up my boom mic for this, but admittedly I didn't really hear the white noise when I was editing in order to do something about it before I chopped the footage up into tiny bits. Unfortunately LAV mics aren't really my thing, and are not in my budget, but will definitely keep the white noise in mind for future! You never know, there are a couple in my guild who have come from Germany for many years! 😜 But really, there are so many super cool LARPs in Europe, I'm sure there are wonderful places you can find closer to home in Bico's stead!

Absolutely, no questions asked, and for as many years as I possibly can. It's one of the most incredible ways to spend some time away from real life, not just because it's like stepping into another world, but because you're surrounded by community and organic experiences. You can't hide behind modern conveniences, but instead spend your time getting to know people and sitting around fires, listening to stories, making music, and just existing really. It's simple and wonderful, and attracts like-minded people who are also in for the fun. So... short answer, yes. Long answer, fuck yes.
