A Walk In Medieval Times | Bicolline 2023

- This is a video of a short walk I took at an event in Quebec Canada called The Duche Of Bicolline. This event is a week long and is also known as The Grand Battle of Bicolline. Bicolline is set on over 350 acres of forested land. It has multiple little towns with over 250 permanent medieval style buildings. In this video I walk from what is called the Troll ball field that is located on the outskirts of Oldtown. From there I walk through Middletown and out to the edge of the Battle Plains where my Guild Camp is located at. My Guild is named The March Wardens and my Bicolline name is Tallian! @@TallianAdventures we do indeed rent a building next to the trollball field! however, we are setting up camp in la cité this year! the building ended up being a bit too crowded of a hang out space last GB. we'll be right next to the mage tower and sharing a campsite with the Magpies!
also, my name is Fia! Fia Notvik. i am a half elf artisan with druidic tendencies, although you will not find me using any in-game magic. i came with the Pelt to the 1023 BP & GB last year, as well as the 1024 BP this year. i will fight one or two battles, but i mostly spend time in town, making music, crafting, calligraphy, helping with quests, cooking, supporting my guildmates and friends in their competitions and endeavors. hit me up if you need any letters written or signs made!

one of my best memories last year was staying out past like 3 am, we were completely sober and just wandering the streets and it was completely quiet haha
@sophliberty on my very first night at bico in 2019 I was so excited I couldn't go to sleep and just kept getting out of bed all night to go walk around in my cloak feeling awesome!

I wonder why it was giving you trouble?! I'm in la cite a lot visiting the black rose so I'll come say hello to you and your guild! My guild The Marchwardens are friends with the magpies too! I have a video I'm trying to finish were we have the Magpies sacred scroll lol. I can't wait for bico! Every year it gets better and better and better lol! You may see me in my black and gold armor on the battlefield!

Btw, what are you recoding on? I know cameras are frowned upon during IT time. I'm just wondering if you have a housing of some sort to hide your phone or gopro or whatever it is.
Everything that i have heard about the elven camp and forest is amazing but you apparently you have to be an elf of be invited by an elf to go there! at least that is the rumor!
I use go pro and have basically just held it down at my belt and it is rarely discovered without making it obvious! the whole phone in a book has been done a ton and is VERY frowned upon. I am working on a staff design that i can hide the camera but still get good high shots over crowds and not be to obvious.
@@TallianAdventures I'm surprised at how good the sound is despite being held like that. I'm looking at a mini go pro mounted to my shoulder in a little housing to make it look like a familiar.
@@Seiaeka That was an idea i had but instead of on the shoulder it would be almost like a puppet! Im really surprised at how good the sound is too! That is my worry with putting it into something that it will overheat and wont get the best sound,
@@TallianAdventures true, overheating could be a problem. As for muffling the sound, if there's a mic port, you could probably get a small lav mic. Might add a "tail" to my familiar if I can get my hands on a gopro if that's an option. XD
Also I have been looking at other action cams that don't have the overheating problems!
How are the withdrawals? How hard is it to go back home after a week there?
Thats something not to many people ask about! For me it is somewhat of a bitter sweet end. It is basically camping and a week of partying every night and walking or battling every day so it can be very exhausting by the end of the week. But i am a little depressed and sad after everyone is gone and im heading home. Plus one of the reasons i wanted to start making these videos was to help with what is called the Bico Blues! that happens throughout the year!
what do you recommend for footwear?
Great question! Footwear is very important. I usually have a good pair of sandals that strap. Not flipflops lol. Some people just wear black shoes with these leather overshoe things. I have a pair of Verillas calf high boots that Zip up but they are fairly spendy. I recommend if you want to have tall boots try to find ones that are not to complicated to tie up and that they fit you because you will do a ton of walking and its horrible if you have blisters!
I wore brown hiking crocs in town, and combat boots in battle.
