Thank you for sharing. The fact that they have 250+ actual buildings on the grounds, and how big the area is. it's just mind blowing. It's heartwarming to see this level of effort and detail put into a medieval fantasy world.
the fact that a place like this even exits and is self standing, and completely respected by guests and staff, is the ultimate outside experience with completely reasonable set of rules and plenty activities to enroll in. its almost to good to be true
Hopefully I will see you there one day! It took me a few years after I discovered it for me to get everything together and save a good amount of money. Thank you for watching!!
@robinst-pierre9600 lol soon! I am self employed and am very busy right now so I haven't had a ton of free time. It won't be to long but I don't know the exact time!
Watching your videos has been an eye opening experience. I came into it with a completely different mindset, with entirely incorrect assumptions about what was going on there. In all honesty it's kind of sad, because as much as I have become hooked, I can't help but to think of everything it would take to get there. Just the thought of trying to check my armor, how many suitcases would it take, how much would that cost? The cost of tickets, lodging, transportation, food?! I feel like it would be easier to just buy 300 acres and make my own fantasy kingdom at home lol. Either way, I love your content and I appreciate the great effort that you put forth to bring it to us.
Thank you! Im happy you are loving the content and I am actually very happy that It has been able to give you a better grasp on what a trip like this takes!! I do want you to know that you dont have to have armor or even a different outfit for every day! I sometimes were the same pants for 3 days lol and shirts can be mixed in and out with other things. If you dont mind me asking what you general location is? I have flown and it took me two large bags, a carry on and a backpack to carry just about eveything i need. one bag was for my armor and the others are for everything else. It cost me 30 for the first bag and 70 for the other. as long as they are 50 pounds and below. As far as far as the logistics goes there are different guilds that do smaller and cheaper packages but I use The Voyage North. They have been a little on the expensive side but i get a private tent and that adds a lot more. TVN handles the bus ride to and from the event from the airport. You get a guild tabard, a medieval style large tent with a cot. you can get bedding for a charge. It also comes with a food card that gets you a huge breakfast and dinner. I almost never eat a lunch there. I know it can seem like a huge undertaking but its all about one step at a time! I would love to help you with any advice that i can so dont hesitate to ask!!
Thank you for watching!! You Absolutely dont need to know a single word of french to be able to have a lot of fun! There are a ton of english speakers and also a lot of french speakers who also speak english!
Awesome!! That is one reason i wanted to make these videos!! So thank you for bringing that full circle! Do you know what guild you wanna be in?? Who did you sign up through? If it was The Voyage North you should tell them I sent you!
You are awesome!!! Thanks for that! Haha i would love to hear what they say!! All of the guilds are great but my guild is The March Wardens and they are amazing you you cant make up your mind!!@@frenchfrieguy9370
Perfect! That's one of the reasons I wanted to make these videos. Hopefully we will meet. From what I have been told is these are mostly viking guilds down there but I really have never been there yet! Bico is so big it can be an amazing place to explore.
How did you get to video your experience? Me and a group of friends want to video and take pictures but we are looking for a way to hide the cameras and phones (without the hollowed out book trick)
I personally do not use a phone to take photos or pictures. It's very hard to hide and it can look unnatural (like people do when they do the hollow book). I use a go pro. It's small enough that I can hold it in my hand or have it hidden easier. I turn off all the lights such as the red light and both front and back screens. I also turn off the beeps. On the battlefield I have all black armor and the gopro kinda blends into my helmet when I have it attached.
Thats actually a great question that i do not know a lot about! I wouldnt recommend not having guild unless you really dont want to! However there is a whole area called non-decorum camping where its all non medieval style tents were people with no guild can camp. They also have Bicolline Official tents that you can rent without being in a guild! Hope this helps answer some of your question!
My husband and I would love to partake in this event. Truly seems like an adventure. I find it strange upon doing research on trying to attend it became very "secretive". It seemed it was our easiest option to use a third party vendor to set us up with a guild and tent, etc since we are noobs and do not know what we are doing. However, the price was way too high for our budget. I wish I could find more information on lodging options. I was told there was no lodging in the buildings.... specifically a bedroom with a fullsize bed and a door.....so 250 buildings and I can't get a bedroom to share with my husband and us two only? Weird. Id be willing to bring our tent even. But then I heard it's almost impossible to find a guild to join... so it was a bit disappointing to say the least.
@whitneyryshae I completely understand where you are coming from. Just so you are aware you literally can camp in a non decorum location were you bring your own modern tent find a place and set up camp! To get more info you can go to bicolline.org. there is all kinds of info you can get from there. You absolutely do not need to join a guild and it is recommended that you come your first year without a guild and try to find a good fit for you and your family. As far as your comment on not being able to find a building out of all of them to stay in. The vast majority of all the building are privately owned by individuals who have purchased land and payed to build those building. Most of them use them for their own friends and family and don't rent them out.
That's a bit of a hard question to answer! I use the Voyage North travel package and that is a bit more expensive than going with a different guild or by yourself. Unless you have larp clothes and stuff it can be expensive to buy all of that stuff. I also drive up instead of flying so that helps to. Just the travel package was around 1200. It comes with transportation to and from the airport to event. A medieval tent and modern cot. Breakfast and Dinner every day(amazing food) and an English speaking group of possible friends! Let me know if you have more questions!
@maidung1825 This is a magical and deep place called Bicolline! It a medieval fantasy festival/ war game that is held up north of Montreal in Quebec Canada!

It's so charming. It's like a real life fantasy version of Westworld
Right! It's so huge that I find new building that I have never seen before every year! Plus they are continuously building new stuff!
Thank you for sharing. The fact that they have 250+ actual buildings on the grounds, and how big the area is. it's just mind blowing. It's heartwarming to see this level of effort and detail put into a medieval fantasy world.

I bet Bico is gorgeous in October. Quebec always has such beautiful fall colours.
I am hoping to do one of the fall campaigns this year and will make a video on it!! Ill bet it is going to be so gorgeous!!!

I hope to make it to Bicolline someday. It honestly looks like a load of fun.

A lot of LARPs in Europe and the US have more people, but I can assure you :
