    First, throw the crush spacer away because you can't reuse them. If you insist on getting a new crush sleeve the torque on the inner nut is 750 ft lbs. After you throw that away tighten the inner to 200 and rotate the hub a couple of times then back off 1 turn and torque to 50 ft lbs and then assemble the lock and outer nut, torque to 200 and bend the tabs. Out the 50 years I've been a heavy truck mechanic, 28 have been working on the most abused trucks around, trash trucks. I average between 3 and 6 leaking seals a month. I have always done it this way and I've never lost a bearing and to the best of my knowledge I've never had a seal fail as long as it was a National seal. I've worked a couple of places that didn't want to buy the National seals.

      @@jorsot8839 throw the stemco's away and get nationals. I've never decided which is worse, C/R SKF or stemco. No,I'll take that back, stemco.

    Eu sempre montei o cubo já colocando na sequência o rolamento externo , sem deixar o cubo apoiado no eixo para não danificar o vedador de óleo. Fabio Silva

    Finish the video tighten the inner spindle nut to,50 ft pounds and outer to 250-300 ft lbs, throw the bearing spacer in the trash, when the bearings wear they get loose, loose bearing will cause tire wear, choppy thread next to the frame rail

    Do diesel not go on lifts like regular cars do? I honestly don’t know

      Most shops won't spend the 50,000$+ for a truck lift. Though they should, it saves a lot of labor money

      We have lifts at Ryder, but we just use jack stands for stuff like this.

    Why diesel Techs have short careers

    • @I_Died_2_Weeks_Ago
      @I_Died_2_Weeks_Ago Год назад

      Because they're forced to get CDL's and they then realize they can go drive for more money and less tear on their body.

      I'm 75, still doing 40 hours and I have my cdl. I'll take the body abuse over being on the road with all the idiots on the road. I have my cdl for test drives.
