Wassup rusty, I haven’t been around much but i watched all you otr series before I became a driver almost 2 years ago now. After my first year I went and got myself a truck. I’m flat bedding now. This video will be exactly what I would be looking for some time down the road. I stay away from labor rates on maintenance lol

Rusty, what about putting some vinyl stripes on the trailer to cover the scrap it's not that expensive and covers up the ugly marks. Take care and stay safe.

My dad started out as a machinist and worked his way into estimating the cost of the work to make a profit and keep the customers happy. I swear dad's are great, they can usually do anything. Your dad was probably thinking, put the damn camera down and quit wasting time. You could probably make more money as a mechanic and repairing stuff, then driving.

Since you drove in snowy condition and blizzard or heavy rain and poor visibility too, it is good to install red strong fog light with old 21w bulb(not led) to not get frozen and good visibility from behind

I'm not that experienced, but in my experience the flakes you saw is just dirt that entered and was ground and natural unpreventable metal wear and the brown is just older oil and/or mixed oils.

The friction surface of the brake drum and the brake friction material are contaminated by oil or grease. (393.47(a)). That means it’s an out of service violation by the FMCSA. Pull into a scale and let them find those brake shoes contaminated with oil and they will ticket you for it

If the tire inflation hoses are leaking inside the hub can it pressurise the hub and push oil past the rear seal, maybe that is the first thing to check, I dislike them systems

Once the brake shoes/liners have been contaminated with oil/grease they need changing ,cleaning the shoes/liners is no good as soon as the shoes/ liners get hot the grease/oil will come out reducing the friction with the drum

@@ky.gambler5281 Nah, i will try and explain ,oil and grease soak into the lining material , and every time the brakes are applied this causes heat,so the soaked in oil seeps out seducing the friction , the only cheat would be to replicate this by using a blow torch to heat the linings then clean off the liner until there is no more oil coming out , this has its problems as it makes the rivets brittle.

“A loose bearing is a happy bearing” is what I was taught. Not literally loose, basically that over tightening will burn them up.
It’s all by feel. I don’t know how these internet keyboard warriors would ever be able do it, they need a torque spec for everything.
