I'm both diesel and gaz engine mechanic from Iran. I love my job and I plan to migrate to Canada to become a truck driver. In my opinion anyone who wants to drive heavy vehicles in harsh conditions like ice roads, logging, etc. should be at least a medicore mechanic first, then attempt driving. You can't beg bears and wolves to help you when you break down in the middle of nowhere. BTW great videos. Carry on and let us enjoy 👍💪

@@TATEXPRESSINC also: I just got my seal replaced precisely in that rear corner, yet after less than 1,000 miles that seal is leaking again.
What are the possible failure points that would cause that; I mean parts and what was done incorrectly during reinstalling the assembly that would cause it to leak again?
      Thanks in advance.

@@psuperpsychophreak if it's leaking after 1000 miles, the seal was not installed correctly. Probably damaged in the process by using wrong installation tool, cleaning hub or not torquing the spindle nut properly.

The wonders of technology ! My '97 Pete had the old style bearing system, without the spacer, and when the bearings wore a little the inner race of the inside bearing moved ever so slightly outward , allowing it to spin on the spindle. Eventually all four drive wheel spindles needed to be replaced, normally meaning new axle carriers. An other option, much less expensive, was to weld new spindles on and a specialist was available for this. The new system put that type of specialist out of business. My '07 Pete had the new stuff.

Finally a mechanic that knows not to lube the seal when installing it into the hub. So many morons on here using forms of lube. Says on the damn box not to. Also, no need to fill the hub be for you install the nut like that. On the hub as you can see in the video when you're rotating it there is a 8mm Allen nut you can remove to directly fill the hub. And also that torgue spec is 350-400 for that hub locking nut. I can gladly send you specs. But the shop you're in looks good enough to have that resource. Also enjoyed not seeing you get that last inch of when you're trying to line the shaft up in the diff lol. Video edit. Good luck and happy wrenching.

What's up, man! I hope you're doing well.
First of all, thank you so much putting in the time to record this video and share your skills with us. I'm working on my Mack Master certification through my job. This last week our instructor walked us through replacing wheel seals and drum brakes. Our company bought an old Mack GU713 on auction for us to practice on before they rebuild it. Total beater, but a great truck for us to get our feet wet, especially since it's been through hell and back; every step of the way we learn from the challenges that come with working a well-"loved" truck, haha.
Anyway, when I came home today I wanted to see another perspective on replacing the seals. I searched "replacing drive axle hub" on RUclips, and this was exactly what i was looking for. Man, you make it look so easy; I thought I was gonna throw my back out just trying to get the wheel back over the hub without a dolly.
Thank you for all that you do and keep up the great work!! I look forward to checking out the rest of your channel. You just earned yourself a subscriber.

The guy that showed me how to do this didn't lean the axle up against the truck where it wouldn't fall. And for some reason he got his creeper out and was under the truck when he kicked over the axle causing it to fall across his shins. He was limping around the shop for like 2 months. Same guy when throwing drums away in the scrap bin gets his finger caught which causes him to do a 360 flip and land on the gravel parking lot. I helped him find his glasses and didn't give him too much of a hard time but when he went back in the shop the boss said why are you covered in gravel? and I lost it!🤣
