Three guys, obviously on VERY different paths and skill levels, but still all respect and admire each other. Mahomes showing so much respect to them both also speaks volumes. There’s 0 ego and all respect knowing they all put in the same work. At the end of the day, they’re all just regular dudes who love football and have the same goals and work very hard. This show was super well made. I’m from KC, but Kirk cousins may just be my second favorite QB now because of this show. He’s just a normal guy/father who just so happens to be also an NFL player level athlete and millionaire lol. Football isn’t always about whos the “best” Most people who play or watch the game do so because they genuinely love the sport. No matter who’s on season 2 I’ll be watching.
This show is so good. Couldn’t pick a better trio. They’re such humble, hard working, high character guys. Love this show, please create more episodes!!
It’s good to see that other QB see Kirk as someone who is underrated. A lot of people only focus on where he makes mistakes and not the amazing QB skills he shows
I’m a Chiefs fan who just watched the whole series “Quarterback”. My takeaways: 1. Love Kirk and his wife. They are awesome people 2. Man, it’s good to have Patrick Mahomes as your QB…but Britney is rough to watch with how brash and harsh her personality is. 3. I respected Mariota before and always felt he was a really gifted player. It shows how much circumstances can define your legacy often times more than your personal ability or actions.
totally agree with the Brittany comment. She clearly hit the lottery going to the same high school as Mahomes and holding on... she is just TOO MUCH completely annoying. She wore a LV entire jumpsuit. Her entire being screams money with no taste or class. Kirk looks like HE hit the lotto with his wife. Stable, grounded, "normal" and sweet.
i actually gained a more positive impression of Britney after watching the docuseries. because of her soccer background and playing a year professionally overseas, she's very much a competitor and that toughness shines through. she's definitely not a demure stay at home trophy wife. i wasn't a big fan before but i left with more respect of who she is afterwards
One of the things I learned after watching this series is that Kirk Cousins Oline consistently lets him down and its a miracle he can even walk right now.
Love the chill vibe between Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins, 3 humble respectful players 🫡✊🏽💯 Really enjoyed the first season of Quarterback, hope we get a season 2 😊
Shoutout to Kirk & Patrick for complimenting Marcus, he deserves it, had a tough year in Atlanta but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of him as a starter 👏
Takes a lot of courage to say yes to something and not know where the year will go. Kudos to all of these men. May their kids enjoy this look into their father’s lives one day when they are grown.
@@RM-56 you’re right, but Bryce is an Alabama QB, a year on the bench in a new system might do him good. They’ll throw him in week 1 most likely but hey it’s worth a shot.
Besides being great QB's and making it to the top of their profession in football, a major thing I got from this doc is that all 3 of these guys are great human beings. Big time respect to all 3 guys
After watching this doc, my respect and love for Kirk Cousins (even as a Cowboys fan) SKYROCKETED! Also, made me realize that Patty Mack is going to be on the same level as Tom Brady!
It HURTS, (no pun intended, really!) to be a once upon a time, "can't miss" new prospect, at QB1, with one's own team, to reluctant backup to Carr, to getting one's hopes up, AGAIN, as a QB1, with LOTS of assurances, to having your dream, embarrassingly, publicly crashing down, AGAIN, with an injury AND a benching. He's ashamed. At least, Kirk DID have a very good winning season, with some meme moments, and PatM won another SB! He probably feels "less than", a failure, and a "what could have been" at QB. They other two CAN speak of commanding their teams and offenses, and special wins, but, Mariota, can't (really). He's getting paid, and agreed to be in ot when he got the Atlanta spot, so I'm not going to act like Mariota deserves a medal and went through war. I'm not going to be hyperbolic with the "class act" crap,-- he's promoting a Netflix doc, it's part of his contract--but he IS doing an admirable job trying to pretend that he's a ok, and cool with it all.
@@thetruthisthelight0910 agreed 1,000% I thought he was gonna stay in Oakland he mightve been better off. His playoff game against the chiefs was badass tho
@@thetruthisthelight0910 Sorry, the English teacher is coming out of me here: "Class act" isn't exactly hyperbole. Saying he is the classist player in the NFL would be. A class act means that you have achieved above the standard level of human decency (manners, respect, politeness, empathy, humility, no selfish expectations) in the face of temptation and tribulation. The mom that doesn't cry when her toddler gets a shot to show bravery = class act. The kid that says "please, thank you, excuse me" is a class act. Holding a door open for someone = class act. Sorry for the rant = class act. Telling someone "it's all good man" = class act. Apologies again lol

hopefully after this season, they'll do a rookie qb, a vet qb maybe Aaron Rodgers considering he's with a whole different team for the first time in his career, and maybe high caliber qb maybe either josh allen, Joe burrow, or Jalen hurts who all fell short on achieving a super bowl

How can you hate any of these guys? Mariota was my college legend but never could make it stick in the NFL, mahomes is the future goat and kirk is the ultimate underdog.
I will always root for Mariota. My first NFL jersey and when he got drafted to my Titans I had a feeling he was special. He led the Titans to multiple winning seasons and was a true talent and class act. He came to my local Kroger to sign autographs back in 2018 but they had to leave right as i got to the front of the line, so at the end of the day i never got to formally meet my childhood hero, however i did get to witness him run an 87 yard touchdown against the rival Jaguars.
Man I was at that game against the Jags that stiff arm to get that 1st down by Mariota definitely was a better moment that the KC one. Division rival, win or go home, packed stadium , freezing cold, electricity in the air . Whew
As a season ticket holder for the Vikes, and a TRUE Kirk Cousins believer, I can't thank Netflix enough for releasing this series. Kirk has been nothing but shit on since he joined the league, and he deserves SO much more credit than he's given.
I’m also a Kirk/Vikings fan, but he did prove he was average at best in Washington. He has also repeatedly shown that he lacks the clutch aspect of the game. He always seems to have an inexcusable moment for how good he is on a prime time game. The 22-23 season ended on such a play.
@@joeymcguire8742 Dude I can think of 4-5 throws even last season where Kirk has MADE that clutch throw with 2-1 minutes left in the game. Cmon now dude. He made like 3 to Adam ALONE 2 years ago, one was a DAGGER against Green Bay in Lambeau on MNF. A dimer to Jefferson in TRIPLE coverage with a minute left last year in Buffalo... these are just off the top of the head that I can think of. Don't tell me Kirk can't get it done late. I was at 12/18 games in person last season. I watched him do it bro lmao
@@joeymcguire8742 Kirk's got a winning record on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday night football. His only losing night in primetime games is Monday. So is he garbage on MNF? Yes. "Prime time?" No. I watched him beat the Patriots last year on Thanksgiving TNF... one of the most "prime time" regular season games you get all season.
The QB on my team catches more crap than any other in the league, even from fans of the team. His name is mentioned daily on sports shows in a negative manner and he deserves better in my opinion.
I'm a Vikings fan and iv grown to like cousins, but I do see where some of the hate comes from. Came in after 2017 where we went to the nfc championship as that missing piece and was given a large salary to just barely to get us to the play off since then. I think it's the amount he gets ends up being the deciding factor for vikings fans.
@@hydraco.9423 But we know now that Zimmer's predictable and conservative offense (play not to lose instead of playing to win) was a big part of the poor records. Plus, not meeting with your quarterback and changing OC's every year was not good. Zimmer was supposed to be this defensive genius and his defenses stunk the last two years before he got fired. His pay is pretty standard for a starting quarterback and he's playing every game.

Marcus is going thru what most athletes deal with. They wanted us to see the different sides of pro sports while guys like Kirk and Pat are very unique in that they’re the elite of the elite at their position. 99% of athletes deal with Marcus’s situation.
I really like that both Kirk and Pat spoke more confidence in him especially given what they’ve been able to accomplish in their careers. I also think he’s just an introverted guy.
So much respect for Kirk he is a humble family man and smart business person. Not blowing money on jewelry or flashy cars but building wealth for his kids and grandchildren.
in the show it was so great when he got home from the playoff loss and is like "oh it's trash day tomorrow I can't forget to put the bin out" - seems pretty grounded
Others may be, too. They DO. I can take 5m out of 100m, but w great car and house, nice watch and chain, and still have plenty left to invest. Stop judging others' choices! Kirk doesn't live in a shack, and I'm sure that his wife doesn't drive a Kia, respectfully 😂. He's NOT the "average Joe". He just made it APPEAR that way, to YOU.
Imagine having a call with your financial advisor and it's Kirk Cousins. I can just picture him saying, "Well, overseas growth is picking up after a slow period, I suggest we take some funds out of your mid caps and move it there. You like that?"
Quarterback was a great Netflix show, love all 3 quarterbacks story. I'm a big Saints fan, but I must say over the past 3 years Mahomes has made me love KC. I wished he played for the Saints.
Mahomes and Mariota calling Cousins underrated was smart cause he is. 5:48 I also like how Kirk mentioned how underrated Jimmy Garoppolo is too, winning do well and people flare their noses
marcus has a form of remorse about his last season, really feel it for this guy. really wished things went differently for him back in Atl, hopefully that wasn’t his last shot starting for a team.
To me, Marcus Mariota is one of those player who was born 5 years too early because of his play style and how the league was different to how its played now. Same with Tavon Austin, D'Anthony Thomas, Reggie Bush etc.
I'm a Steelers fan and I've always admired Kirk. On draft day I knew he would outlast and eventually take over for RG3. He has had some major ups and downs, and the media has never been fair to him. Maybe now he will finally get the respect he's earned in this game. I feel like he has the attitude of a Steeler, but obviously Pittsburgh is in a new chapter. Prior to Pickett I would have loved to have seen Kirk be a QB in Pittsburgh.
We’ve always loved Marcus, dude was a killer. It’s great to see him happy and getting admiration by guys performing at the highest level. When football is talking about Marcus it just seems right.

Three of the best men the NFL has to offer.
Football isn’t always about whos the “best”
Most people who play or watch the game do so because they genuinely love the sport.
No matter who’s on season 2 I’ll be watching.
Cousins reminds me so much of Alex Smith....a super grounded, probably wound a little tight, and a super smart grinder
This show is so good. Couldn’t pick a better trio. They’re such humble, hard working, high character guys. Love this show, please create more episodes!!
It’s good to see that other QB see Kirk as someone who is underrated. A lot of people only focus on where he makes mistakes and not the amazing QB skills he shows
3 of the most humble quarterbacks in the NFL . Hope one day they will all be in the hall of fame .
Stop trolling. You know FULL well......!🥴
Marcus would have to win it all his last 4 years in the league to get in and Kirk would need at least 2 sbs
Pat Fs. I really hope Kirk is but It’s unlikely. And no way for Marcus
@@kja6336if Kirk wins a superbowl he’s probaly a hall of famer
Kirk could make it in the Hall of Very Good
This show was so well done. I feel like I could watch something like this for every week of the season
I’m a Chiefs fan who just watched the whole series “Quarterback”. My takeaways:
1. Love Kirk and his wife. They are awesome people
2. Man, it’s good to have Patrick Mahomes as your QB…but Britney is rough to watch with how brash and harsh her personality is.
3. I respected Mariota before and always felt he was a really gifted player. It shows how much circumstances can define your legacy often times more than your personal ability or actions.
Chiefs fan here. Haven't seen the series yet, but I've seen a LOT of people talking about how annoying/harsh she is. Is it really that bad?
totally agree with the Brittany comment.
@@markwang77🎯
I’ve never seen so many people have opinions on another man’s wife. You would think she’s publicly cheating on him. It’s really weird and bitch made.
One of the things I learned after watching this series is that Kirk Cousins Oline consistently lets him down and its a miracle he can even walk right now.
2012 to 2013 was the last time the Vikings had all five offensive linemen start two years in a row. Hopefully there is improvement for next year.
@@Paula-mv8imKirk needs to scramble and stop taking those big hits. He will not be able to walk in his 50’s.
Man i love Marcus hes such a good dude through and through
Love the chill vibe between Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins, 3 humble respectful players 🫡✊🏽💯 Really enjoyed the first season of Quarterback, hope we get a season 2 😊
Kirk Cousins is an amazing man
i am glad that Mariota got to talk .He still seemed a little introverted and uncertain.I hope he will do good with the Eagles
They appreciate EACH OTHER……. That’s so fucking awesome
I hope Marcus can revive his career, the dude can really play and deseves success
He really should come to Carolina. Back up Bryce or maybe let Bryce sit a year and watch mariota run the offense
@@mexiguero646 yeah, he just needs a good coach
@@mexiguero646 You're not gonna draft someone #1 overall and not play him.
@@RM-56 you’re right, but Bryce is an Alabama QB, a year on the bench in a new system might do him good. They’ll throw him in week 1 most likely but hey it’s worth a shot.
We do love you Kirk ❤Vikings do love you man
Besides being great QB's and making it to the top of their profession in football, a major thing I got from this doc is that all 3 of these guys are great human beings. Big time respect to all 3 guys
That Mariota catch play still haunts my dreams
After watching this doc, my respect and love for Kirk Cousins (even as a Cowboys fan) SKYROCKETED!
Also, made me realize that Patty Mack is going to be on the same level as Tom Brady!
oh, when he's all done, it's goat status or bust.
Mariota's face during some of these answers lmao
Well said ^
@@thetruthisthelight0910 agreed 1,000% I thought he was gonna stay in Oakland he mightve been better off.
Kirk is so down to earth and so smart/wise, I really want to see him finish his career w a bang
Great point on Jimmy G, Kirk. Sometimes I wondered what football games people were watching.
Yall. This show was dope...but this interview and especially how Pat and Kirk compliment Marcus...chef's kiss.
As a chiefs fan, watching this series gave me a whole new level of respect for Kirk and Marcus. You can tell they are both great people. Can’t help but to root for them. Wish them both the best of luck in 2023 and I can’t wait for the Vikings vs Chiefs matchup.
They should keep it like this. 3 different caliber of quarterbacks. You get a lot of different perspectives.
hopefully after this season, they'll do a rookie qb, a vet qb maybe Aaron Rodgers considering he's with a whole different team for the first time in his career, and maybe high caliber qb maybe either josh allen, Joe burrow, or Jalen hurts who all fell short on achieving a super bowl
Bruh we aint tryna watch Mariota😂😂
@@TreeGPTOr spell correctly, apparently.
@@wheresdalove312 idk why but i feel like your comment was insinuating that Rodgers isn't a high caliber QB.. if thats the case you are wildly wrong lmao
@@cshepard09 wasn't a disrespect. meant a young studded star qb. and besides he's one of the few long time vet qb's we have left in the league
Kirk Cousins is awesome.
Wow finally people that are saying what I’m saying oh maybe it’s because we all played Qb Kirk and Jimmy underrated for sure
I agree
The Chiefs are very blessed to have Patty Mahomes as their QB what an awesome guy!! Once in a lifetime talent!!
Man I was at that game against the Jags that stiff arm to get that 1st down by Mariota definitely was a better moment that the KC one. Division rival, win or go home, packed stadium , freezing cold, electricity in the air . Whew
Fun fact: Kirk Cousin's worst year as a starter, he had a 92.5 passer rating. That was 2022.
Who cares
Never had any connection to Football, but this documentary opened my eyes, it is crazy and amazing what these athletes needs to be capable of!
Check out the NFL Films youtube channel for more cool documentaries!
That colts game had my ears ringing for days.
Agreed
Kirk is deffo one of best qbs in the league and is dwffo underated
All three are outstanding men.
Each seem like sweet guys. God bless them. 🙏🏽❤️
even pat still gave Tyreek his flowers
Can’t wait to see Vikings vs Chiefs this year! Kirk vs Mahomes gonna be good!!!
Yes! Mahomes has never played at US Bank Stadium. It will be his first time facing the Vikings (he didn't play last time due to injury).
I just hope it’s close I’m so sick of watching my Vikes get blown out at home 😅
Hopefully our defense improves a lot by then lol
Kirk has no defense
Dude... Kirk is a pretty chill guy. 😅 Idk where all the hate is coming from. When he produces the hate is there. If he doesn't it's way worse 🙃.
It’s because he’s not Mahomes, Manning, or Brady. Trust me every QB gets criticism for not being the BEST and it’s pretty insane.
The QB on my team catches more crap than any other in the league, even from fans of the team. His name is mentioned daily on sports shows in a negative manner and he deserves better in my opinion.
@@jjones317 I’m a 49ers fan - I know ALL about QBs getting 💩 on daily from the moment Garoppolo became the starter.
Being an NFL qb is a fraternity of lile 64 and you can see it here the way these 3 throw roses at each other. and it's authentic and heartfelt.
All 3 of them seem humble off the field and all very personable. If that's what they were going for, they definitely got it right with this series.
Marcus if your reading this, just know even though you aren't a starter in this league right now, the true fans, whether they are titans fans or not, respect you and all the other players that pour everything you guys have into the game we all love, Don't let the haters get to you, haha look at me trying to cheer you up in your fancy house and new car. Still keep up the grind. I believe your peers in the NFL honor and respect you just as much as kirk and patrick do. Love rooting for you on sundays man!
Kirk is great and truly is the most underrated QB.
Fans always find their way to the dawgsss. Doing a interview with Patty Mahomes and even still all the praise is going to Marcus Mariota for throwing that ego out and just being a mf dawg. Appreciate you!
Love this series it's good to them in a different light so people can understand that they are humans, not robots.
These young men are so enjoyable to watch. Keep producing content like this, please!!!
I like them complimenting mariota. It has to be a difficult situation for him..
Kirk Cousins is my guy I'm a Saints fan and Drew Brees is my favorite retired quarterback
Come on Kirk. Just win baby. Let’s take it far this year.
I adore how much love they show each other. They know how impossible the job is so it's so cool to see them show love to family
Love Marcus Mariota 🙏🏿❤️ Great show I enjoyed it 👏🏿
Really great to see how much respect these guys have for each other. Good humans
He just made it APPEAR that way, to YOU.
hard for Marcus but Pat and Kirk gassing him up really makes you understand how good of people they are.
He was very close to being drafted to you guys! Sean peyton loves him too
yah, but you got a steal for carr now. that guy is a baller and it will be fun to watch the team again (assuming the coach isn't a dipsh(()
As a Washington fan I always been Kirk fan and this documentary sealed the deal! s/o Marcus and Pat as well!
KIrk's secret to success is putting up great numbers every season and also his ability to avoid injuries on the field.
Amazing series, this could be a staple for NFL fans in the future.
For sure, imagine if it goes off and we get Runningback, Cornerback, or even Placeholder.
I could see this kicking hard knocks ass lol
Based off the success so far, I could see this series continuing. With other positions on the field too, think we found the successor to Hard Knocks
I’d love to see defensive linemen!!! They are truly a unique breed of player!!!
I like all three of these guys, I am so glad that Marcus was part of this. He seems like a humble stand up man.
To me, Marcus Mariota is one of those player who was born 5 years too early because of his play style and how the league was different to how its played now. Same with Tavon Austin, D'Anthony Thomas, Reggie Bush etc.
I love this! So glad you got all of the quarterbacks together for this interview! ❤️
All 3 guys class acts role models these guys go thru alot tough game tough men
Kirk getting recognition. Fucking awesome.
When football is talking about Marcus it just seems right.
we need another season of this with three different qbs because it was so good to watch. just seeing what each of them go through each week is just so amazing to watch and would love to see it from other guys' perspectives.
Respect to Kirk for giving Jimmy his props
I now have so much more respect for all these players!
