Patrick Mahomes is a young and talented quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He is known for his arm strength, mobility, and ability to make plays under pressure. Mahomes is one of the most exciting players in the NFL, and he is sure to be a star for many years to come. Born in Tyler, Texas in 1995, Mahomes comes from a family of athletes - his father, Pat Mahomes, was a former Major League Baseball pitcher, and his mother, Randi, played college basketball.
Mahomes played multiple sports in high school, including basketball and baseball, but it was on the football field where he truly shone. He attended Texas Tech University, where he played as the starting quarterback for the Red Raiders for two seasons. During his time at Texas Tech, Mahomes set multiple records, including the NCAA record for most yards in a single game with 819 yards against Oklahoma.
After declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft, Mahomes was selected as the 10th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. In his rookie season, he served as the backup quarterback to Alex Smith. However, when Smith was traded to the Washington Redskins in 2018, Mahomes was given the opportunity to take the reins as the starting quarterback for the Chiefs.
Mahomes' first season as a starter was nothing short of spectacular. He threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, earning himself the NFL Most Valuable Player award and leading the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game. Although they fell short of reaching the Super Bowl that year, Mahomes and the Chiefs bounced back in the 2019 season, securing their place in the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years.
In the Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes led the Chiefs to an epic comeback victory against the San Francisco 49ers, throwing for over 280 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone. He was named the Super Bowl MVP, becoming the second-youngest quarterback in history to win the award.
Mahomes' success on the field can be attributed to his exceptional talent, intelligence, and work ethic. He is known for his ability to make incredible plays on the run, throwing accurately and powerfully even while dodging defenders. He is also a master at reading defenses and making split-second decisions, which has earned him the nickname "The Magician."
Off the field, Mahomes is known for his humble and gracious demeanor. He is heavily involved in charity work, particularly with his own foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of children in need. He is also a dedicated husband to his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews, and a proud father to their daughter.
Overall, Patrick Mahomes is not only a talented athlete but also a role model for young people around the world. His exceptional skills, determination, and humility have earned him a place in football history and a spot in the hearts of fans everywhere.

That’s MY team. 🔥. I yell at the TV during the games.💀😂. I wish Tyreek had stayed but they’re still going strong regardless. I enjoy both the personalities and the team’s stunning talent. ❤. I can only imagine. I've lived south of KC my entire life, followed the Chiefs since 89 when I was 9. Still feels surreal the success we are having after more than a lifetime of almost at best. I don't live IN Kansas City, but I've always considered it 'my' city...and Patrick has brought SO much to the city. He has really embraced it as his 2nd home...while still repping his home town and state. He has single handedly made KC a destination. Bought in to the Royals, the soccer teams, and even brought Whataburger up here haha. He is a class act, visits Children's Mercy, has several charitable organizations, and actually cares about the people. We all could not be luckier to have him!!!

"No, we don't transfer. We compete." Wow. As a father of a 12 year old who plays football that is such a powerful sentiment. Last year right before the pop warner playoffs one of his assistant coaches got into a tiff with his head coach, and decided he and his boy were going to a different team in a different league. About 5 of the parents of our best players decided to pull their boys and follow suit, and left my son, the coach, and the rest of the team searching for answers. By some miracle they actually won their first game, but lost their second in a landslide.
I told my son, "When we commit to something, we stick with it to the end. When we say we're going to do something and people are relying on us, we do it...no matter what." It was a learning experience, and I think he's better for it.

This is what’s crazy to me. I remember blatantly watching Patrick Mahomes for the first time when he played at Texas Tech. I’m an Oklahoma fan, so we were playing Tech. And this was back when Baker Mayfield was the biggest name in college football. And for some context, my family comes together to watch Oklahoma football games, and every time we get a touchdown, everyone takes a shot of fireball. We had to have taken at least 9 to 10 shots that game, because the score was around 60-70 for each team. Didnt know I was watching a legend in the making.

First, John Dorsey gets credit he never deserved. Veach was the sole person responsible for the KC/Mahomes pairing. He’s the one who scouted PM & was relentless in bringing attn, to his potential, to Reid & others.
2nd, I think this shows why PM got paid, & how it was the plan, since H.S.
He wanted to come to KC & made the commitment to enmesh himself within the community, even b4 the draft.
Last, having experienced the Jordan era, & now the Mahomes era, I can say without a doubt, that PM has transformed the NFL, the same way MJ did the NBA!
Not only has he redefined the QB position. He’s redefined defenses, as well as catapulted the popularity of the NFL, around the world.
The only reason Brady still plays, is to pad his #s, hoping that PM can’t play long enuf (10-15 yrs?), to shatter all his records!

Not last night lol ( im laughing because of what i said not at Mahomes. Im a massive Tom Brady fan i live in Boston and am 34 years old ive been watching tom since i was 14. Mahomes true is a stunning mind boggling quarterback, his skill is truly unequaled. I think Mahomes will break countless records threw his career and he deserves everything he gets because of that skill, but Brady being in the league for 20 years and accomplishing everything he has. And all the come backs from the largest deficits and on the largest stages. So when people play with Brady they play with a mindset that they will win no matter what. And then having the skill to show up in every moment of need. That belief will bring out the best all of the people around him. Mahomes has that skill for himself and some of the offense right now in time if he keeps this up well have the same effect.

Good news for the Bills is they managed to flip the tens pick and made smart choices by adding All-Pro cornerback Tre' White, a two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmonds, and Pro Bowl left tackle Deion Dawkins. So, worked out for both sides, minus the Bills' winning a Super Bowl thus far. However they have all the peices in place to do so.

Mahomes is a great player and will definitely go to the Hall of Fame. But to break Brady's records, he will have to go to 11 Superbowls and win 8 Superbowls. This is almost impossible. Football will be fun to watch, to see if he can do it. 🏈
