Filmed on the Bandstand on Brighton Seafront in England, with the now burnt out West pier in the background, along with the Palace pier even further back. I know this, because i have also played on that bandstand :)
Sorry to be nitpicky, but since Blondie and Ricky are in this, and no Bruce, wouldn’t this be (filmed in) ‘72? Obviously the album this song is from came out in ‘71, but it’s always been my understanding that the reshuffling of the lineup didn’t occur until ‘72. I don’t know, it was a long time ago.
I always thought that they joined at the same time? I think it was the other way around. They joined at the same time, then Ricky left first, and Blondie stayed for another year or so.
Bruce left for a few years after the recording of Surf's Up over a disagreement and Dennis had damaged his arm, so they got Rikki Fataar (drums) and Blondie Chaplin (guitar) as replacements.
This is far easier to see than those DC concerts, with Mike Love looking ridiculous & acting worse. ---------This is when The Boys were still proving themselves as relaevent.---------Wolfsky9, 74 y/o
One of their best albums. This song ending is beautiful!

Sandy Boggs Mike did a great job on this song!

I think this is one of the first appearances of Carl Wilson sporting a beard
He looks like Paul McCartney here.

Video 1972 audio 1971
@@sandyboggs8099 Yeah that’s what I figured. I only made mention of it because in the headline here it says “1971 Promo Video”.
1972 the song from 1971
That’s what I’m thinking. Bruce is gone, and Ricky and Blondie are in. I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen until ‘72.
BB❤️🇺🇲🇬🇧
With Blondie Chaplin ... soon 2 b joined by Ricky Fataar
Isn't that Ricky on drums?
@@GoodGamer3000 - Yes.
Shouldn’t Bruce be in this? He left in 1972, unless this was filmed after Bruce left.

@@withthebeatleradioYes, this was filmed after Bruce left.

TOOTHPASTE AND SOAP WILL MAKE OUR OCEANS A BUBBLE BATH
2:03 - 2:30 Sounds very Beatlesque.
