I have wanted to make my own sketchbooks for a long time but most tutorials seemed to be more complicated than I wanted to try. This tutorial and explanations make it the perfect sketchbook for me. Thanks. I love your channel. It is filled with lots of how-to information and great sketches and watercolor paintings. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks foe the great tutorial! I’ve been making 4 page booklets. This is a really neat way to bring them together and protect them with a hard cover. It also makes it easier to store them on a shelf.
I'm thinking to make one for myself. How many pages did you end up with? I am enjoying your sketching tutorials. Thank you for sharing, you have a new fan.
Thank you so much and welcome! My sketchbooks usually have between 24 and 48 pages (so 3-6 double pages per stack), depending on the thickness of the paper. I think this one has 24.
I would encourage you to. I made one...it was a fun process and it is so nice to have a book with watercolor paper of different colors to just mess around in.
Wonderful tutuorial, Julia!!! Thank you for making this so easy to understand and to access, most people already have all the tools at home. I hope all your viewers try this. Your books are lovely!
Hi Dave, slightly textured (cold-pressed) paper will work great in most cases, it's lovely to use with watercolors. I use mostly smooth paper (hot-pressed), but I'm very particular about fine detailed drawings. In the end it's probably best to try out a couple of papers and see what works for you, but it's always a good choice to start with a decent cold-pressed paper. I hope that helps! :-)

I hope you enjoy your self-made sketchbook! And thanks for the super nice feedback! 💚
I made one Julia and it turned out really well...this is going to be my new option for watercolor field journal nature journaling - thanks again!
That's great Bruce, glad it worked so well. Hope you enjoy your sketchbook!
Hey! Good idea! Been mulling over this for a while.
You should definitely try it! It's worth to learn it.

Thank you! I tried to keep it easy and intuitive, but I'm sure my technique could be improved.
@@NatureSketchbook It is a very good starting point 👍
What paper would you recommend for using various media together e.g watercolour and pencil. Would smooth be better or slightly textured - thanks
